Sydney--Did you see this rotation that Cathe gave me awhile back? Here's a link: http://www.thecathenation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=259767&highlight=babyfat+rotation I started it but had to quit because I twisted my ankle on the step and have been too wimpy to get the stepper out again..

----
Just finished a very intense CLX cardio. She really packs a lot into such a short amount of time. LOVE IT. I also did the CLX "recharge" which is a stretch, and it was OK. I like my yoga DVD better. Tomorrow: rest day, which means I'll do yoga. Wish i loved yoga more. I'm trying. Hope everyone is having a great evening!!! :)

Stephanie!!! WTG on the WO!!! I find I really don;t care for yoga but I HEART Classical Stretch!

I had a Wo victory tonght too. I REALLY wanted ice cream and to be lazy.. This clogged duct is kicking my butt. It hurts really bad and my back was sore for some odd reason too. I was SO CLOSE to getting ice cream to eat while doing payroll and feeling sorry for myself. But I did BM2 combo 1 and UB wieghts. Knocked out payroll and now I need to go squeeze this knot of a clogged duct out of my boob in a burnin' hot shower before I get mastitis!:mad: It's after 10.... will I EVER get to bed at a decent time!?!?!

Hi ladies. I am back from that wedding in Florida. It was really nice. Zoey was the flowergirl (well, I held her in her pretty dress as I walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid). She was super good. Didn't make a noise the entire ceremony.

I did workout yesterday. I did STS disc 35 plyo legs and then I did the extended stretch. Something in that workout really screwed up my back because I couldn't even stand up straight yesterday! Ironic that all this back trouble landed on my 27th birthday. Brian gave me a really nice birthday massage, but I still was in serious pain. After sleeping on my tempurpedic mattress last night, I woke up better, but after lugging Zoey around all day, I am back to slumped over. Ugh! Needless to say, I took today off workout wise.

I hope I feel better tomorrow! I want to work out. I only have 12 more days of freedom before residency starts, and I'd like to get some killer workouts in!

Wendy, low impact and no brain required: I second Kate's suggestion of Leslie Sansone's walking DVDs (or they have them OnDemand if you have cable)

Kate, that sausage sounds delicious! Can you get frozen dough where you live? Here, Kroger sells like 6 frozen loaves for around $3. It is awesome! I use it to make pizzas and naan.

Sydney, does weight training help you lose fat more than cardio? I think you're pretty weight training heavy..but that is just me. I need more cardio.

Hi to everyone else too.

Becky

Hi mommies!!

Kate - Feel better and warm compress that clogged duct! Knock on wood I haven't gotten one this go around, but did with my first one. Those are nasty!!

Anyway, this is a me post since it is late at night here and I have to finish up some work. I haven't been posting much because I twisted my ankle running today. I knew I twisted it but ended up finishing four more laps because I knew I would be out of cardio commission for a least the rest of the week. Now I'm paying and have to keep my foot elevated. I'll catch up with the posts and be back with personals in the am. Have a great Wednesday ladies!!

Lisa

Becky -hope your back feels better soon!

kate -hope the clogged duct cleared out. what is Classical Stretch like?

Lisa -sorry about your ankle. how is it feeling today?

well I did tae bo get ripped advanced #1 last night. gosh I haven't done tae bo in like 5 years. just had the urge to try it out again. actually was a great w/o. glad I got that in. did the whole thing (1 hr) guess I'll try to fit in more w/o at night again and hope baby stays asleep for them. I just hate when he wakes up and I'm all sweaty etc and have to get him back down. I need to start weights! but it seems since I miss days that when I start back I want to do cardio. I need to be consistently w/o everyday to want to do weights.
I'm having trouble with diapers leaking at night when I nurse laying down. (basically whenever hes on his side). if he pees it seems to leak out of the diaper. this has happened with 3 brands! pampers, luvs and 7th generation. I planned to use all 7th gen but people gave me some other diapers. anyway. I'm getting tired of changing my sheets. I'm trying to be sure to make it snug enough. whats the deal?? nothing worse than waking a half asleep baby to change his clothes at night too. argh!

thanks for the leslie sansone suggestion, ladies. they are dull as a doorknob but do have their place, i suppose. thats why we all have a few on hand, right? i just finished her fast start 2 miles and then did the ball segment from stretchmax. these were perfect, mindless, exactly what i needed. i still feel HORRIBLE but jj is better. dh was going to sick call today so well see what they say.

bbl for personals, promise... im off to make spinach soup with rosemary croutons (which i shall NOT be eating with my soup portion...).

Becky, I bet Z was the cutest fg ever!:D
Great WO but sorry for the back issues! Mine is really sore too! WAH!:p Will chiro tmrw as we get our truck back from the shop today! YAY!
We cAN get fr. dough but it's so easy to do it homemade. And more fun too!:D
What will your work schedule be like?

Lisa, How's the foot?????

Jess, CS is like getting a full body massage! You feel totally stretched head to toe! I love it!
I found when J was leaking her diapers is when I needed to go a size up to increase the absorbency.
Good job w/ the WO! It's so hard getting a regualr schedule started back up! But in the grand scheme.... you'll be back at it in no time!

Wendy, Homemade soup - YUM! I cannot eat canned stuff anymore, DH calls me a food snob! I suppose I am!:p
Good job w the LS & SM!
Hope you all continue to get better!

Becky--Sorry about your back! ouch! Hope it feels better soon!

Lisa--Sorry about your ankle! I know how that feels! Hope it's better soon! Elevation and ice did wonders for me when I twisted mine!

Kate--Did you get the clog out with that shower? I hope so!! That sounds painful!!

Jess--Sorry for the leaky diapers! I think it's great you're sticking to green diapers. They're too expensive for me. If you change your mind, however, Huggies Overnights are great at eliminating overnight leaks.

Wendy--Your soup sounds yummy!! Recipe, please...

Hi to everyone else!!
-----

Well, last night went a little better, but we skipped Charlie's late bottle (against my better judgement) because he was asleep. Needless to say, he woke up at 4:30 wide awake and wanting to be fed. He did go back to sleep though until about 8 which was nice! Today is a rest day for me, but I think I'll dust off my Rodney Yee (sp?) power yoga DVD. Clean eats yesterday and hopefully today too!! Off to the store in a bit. Hoping the rain holds off until we get back!!! Hope you all have a great day!!! :)

Jess - Your diapers may be too big? I know when the diapers were too big they would leak for P. I like 7th generation diapers actually. I just bought some generic Target chlorine free natural diapers. I think they are called Nature Care or something like that. Maybe try those? They are actually cheaper than Huggies believe it or not. I switch to whatever is on sale at the store I'm at, and what I have a coupon for. Toys R Us is the only store that carries 7th gen and it's not near to me. Close to my workplace, but I'm not always at work or have time after work to stop by. I hear you on the going to cardio first when not working out in awhile and I hate the being sweaty and having to pick up baby also. Don't worry about working out all the time. Your baby is needing you and you will get there.

Steph - How was the power yoga? I tried his yoga before and I was so weak! He seriously has some strength.

Kate - I'm here hobbling away, lol.

Becky - Enjoy your last few days of no work. Are you going to be one of those residents that have to sleep at the hospital and work 24hrs straight? I hope not!

Back from the photo studio where my girls took pics. I only spent $40. Pat myself on the back. We are really trying to stick to the budget our fin advisor gave us and it really helps. Looking long term for future is a good thing. Anyway, elevating my foot now. Planning on GS BSB tonight.

Lisa

Stephanie, I think the clog is UNclogged! Thank goodness! Still a little tender but getting better w/ each nursing.
Baby sleeping til 8 sounds heavenly to me! Julia makes it thru the night most night but her day starts around 6! I'm an early riser anyway so it desn't really bother me....but a little later would be a-ok w/ me!:p
GOOD JOB ON CLEAN EATS!
I SEVERELY DISLIKE carting groceries thru the rain!
That power yoga sounds great! May have to queue that in Netflix!

Lisa, DS was ok w/ not being in the pics?
Good job w. the budgeting! I need to sit and figure one for us. We are good savers but I would like to even more. Mike says I'd cut coupons and pinch pennies even if we were multi-milionaires! I'm like, "well, yeah, Iwould! How do you think they keep all that money! Not by spending it!":p

-
I did CS UB and abs today but taking a rest from weights and cardio. My body is ready for a rest. Will hit a hard run Thursay night and a LB blast of some sort Friday. Maybe a little B&G:D. Then I'm going back to STS. I LOVED meso2. Want to do it again before our vacation!

Lisa--I messed up the name. It's not Power Yoga it's Yoga Burn. I like it. I haven't done it a bunch though. I like faster yoga (when I do it). I'm too impatient to hold poses. This one is at a pretty good pace. I really love the yoga show on Oxygen that comes on here at 5 a.m. But I haven't gotten up for it in, oh, 8 years. :p WTG on sticking to the budget on pictures!!!

Kate-- yay on the unclogged duct!! Is Meso 2 your favorite STS? Where are you going on vacation?

----
Went to the grocery store, sans rain. Yay! Didn't get the yoga in. Guess it was a true rest day. Still feel guilty though. AND my eats were off tonight a little bit. I eat so much cleaner when I do my workouts. That's why rest days are dangerous for me. Anyway... Tomorrow I'll be back on CLX. Can't wait! :) Nighty night!!

Stephanie, Funny, but I feel the same way about rest days and eating. It's so much easier for me to eat clean on WO days. Lately I haven;t been taking my rst day unless I feel like I actually need it. And I'm getting better results too! I don;t think 1 day a week has to be THE standard for rest days. Ive been averaging about every 10 days or so. If you don't feel like taking one - DON't!:)
Shake off those bad eats - it's in the past. And KICK SOME BUTT on CLX today!
Meso2 was definintely my favorite! Followed by M3. Didn't like M1 but I think that was more because of my post-partum frame of mind. Will give it another shot in the fall.
Vacation will be in Traverse City. A couple nights at Great Wolf Lodge (DH wanted to go again - I didn't. But I suppose the girls will have fun!) Then we get a condo on Grand Traverse Bay. SO NICE!!!! The girsl have their own room , separate from us. Full kitcehn and RIGHT on the beach. Can't beat it!

Kate--I'm feeling the same way about rest days. I just don't want to push it too hard and then get burned out, so I'm going to stick to the one day per week. Chalene has two per week scheduled in CLX, but that's too much for me. Tomorrow is supposed to be another one, but I'm going to do a run/walk. Your vacation sounds SO nice!!! We do the same thing when we go to the beach in FLorida; we get a condo so the boys have their own room, and i can cook each night. Saves money and pounds!! :) Hope you guys have FUN!!

Hi to everyone else!!

It's a cloudy, rainy day here. Charlie slept in his own bed until 8 a.m. Woot!!! Then he got in my bed and snoozed while I dressed until about 9. :) Good baby!!! Last night I ordered Cathe's weighted vest/workout gloves off of QVC. I've got to quit buying workout stuff!!! But I thought it would be great to have for leg workouts --instead of buying heavier dumbells at this time and for walks. It was a total impulse buy! Tonight I'm doing CLX again and hoping to keep up the clean eats. Good so far today. No appetite for some odd reason! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hello everyone.

Yep I'm the same with food days but backwards. I w/o at night so if I eat bad during the day I feel like the day is "wasted" so don't feel as motivated to w/o. Days I eat good I'm all ready to w/o. but I do try to make myself w/o on days I didn't eat as well then it makes me feel better atleast.
I have a serious addiction problem..lol. I'm totally addicted to sandwiches and starbucks iced mochas. help! they've seen me three times this week. atleast lately I get the non fat iced mocha -no whip. they have this great sandwhich with fresh (REAL) mozzarella, fresh roasted tomatoes, spinach and a basil pesto. drrooooool. They used to make a great turkey sand on ciabatta bread with a basil/lemon mayo and roasted red peppers, but they quit selling it so I made a clone at home. I have a ton of fav sandwiches. I make them in batches and freeze them. then when I want one I put it in the fridge the day before. I always toast or grill (on cast iron) my sandwiches. My day revolves around my sandwich. I think about it all morning. and feel happy afterwards all day. I can eat clean for bfast and dinner.. but I NEED my sandwich. thankfully I like fresh ingredients on them like fresh vegis/deli meat and pesto etc for dressing. I also like them with iced tea. I can't imagine my life without sandwiches and tea or mochas. sigh. I think if I could I'd eat a sandwich for bfast/lunch and dinner.
I just ordered 3.... yes THREE sandwich/panini cookbooks on amazon.. and ONE healthy eating cookbook (from the thread in the Open forum). attached a pic. yummy!

Kate - which classical stretch do you recommend? are there clips online anywhere?

Hi ladies. Back is better today...still a bit off but much better. I ended up doing some mild yoga stretches for the lower back yesterday and that helped. Today I did a 35 minute wonderful outdoor run followed by segment 1 of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I may try to get some more yoga in tonight before bed.

Lisa, I hope the ankle feels better soon.

Jess, Zoey seems to leak more when the diapers are too small. They might appear to fit, but I know that if she is having repetitive blow outs, it is time to up the size! One every now and then I just chalk up to a massive poop, but every day...get a bigger size. Oh, and you are making me salivate talking about those sandwiches. I know what you mean about those iced mochas...they are amazing! I just tried the Cliff Kids chocolate brownie bars...they satisfied my sweet tooth. Have you ever had those? YUM!

Wendy, I think I may have missed an announcement. Are you pregnant again? If so, how far along?

Kate, I don't know my exact schedule yet, but I do know I start on the wards. That means I'll be taking care of patients in the hospital on the regular floors, not the ICU (thank goodness!) I was afraid I'd have ICU first, and that one is really intense and scary. I don't have ICU until October, so by then I'll be ready! While on wards, I'll have to arrive around 7 am and will stay until at least 4pm (more than likely like 5 though). Then every 5 days, I'll be "on call" which means whenever a patient needs to be admitted, I'll have to work them up and admit them. This will require staying at the hospital until 10 pm on weekdays and overnight if my call day lands on a weekend day. Every Tuesday evening is my clinic time, so from noon on I'll see patients in the clinic. Believe it or not, this is a pretty cush schedule. I chose a community program (not a big university program) for this very reason. Other places have you on call every 3 or 4 days. Even ICU is every 5 day call here (which is basically unheard of). But, needless to say, I will not have time to bake bread, even though I agree that it is fun to do. :) Oh, and the Great Wolf Lodge...is there more than one? We have one here in Cincinnati and it is super close to my parents.

Lisa, I am super impressed at your ability to stay in a budget. I won't even say what we paid for the pics we had taken of Z when she was first born. It's embarrassing how much we got swindled!

I am going to try to workout tomorrow morning, but we are supposed to help my little brother move (he's not so little though...he's 23). He and his fiance are buying a house. So, my workout depends on Z and her sleeping. I'm sure I'll get quite the workout lugging boxes though...must be careful for my back!

Have a great night ladies.

Becky

A post from Newsweek on Twitter tweaked my interest about "16 and Pregnant", a new show on MTV. I am watching it right now and feel really sad for the babies. They are the ones who are suffering. So sad. I'm watching these teenage parents try to do it on their own, fighting and threatening to leave, bickering about who takes care of the baby. It is so sad.

Steph/Kate - You will laugh at me because I love my rest days!! I take at least 2/week. Not because I really want to, but it's hard to find time to squeeze in a wo on days that DH works late.

Steph - I like the Namaste Yoga they have on FitTV and I also saw the Oxygen one a couple times.

Kate - My ds is not into taking pics. He really doesn't care about stuff like that so we only force him once a year. I already told him that when P turns one, he has to take pics also. Your vaca sounds so nice!

Becky - Take care of your back esp. since you'll be starting your crazy work schedule soon!

Hi Jess!

My ankle is doing better, but it sure put me in a funky mood. It was taking me really long just to do anything. My right quad has major doms from having to do all the support though. Isn't that funny? Anyway, hoping to wo today. Kids go to the dentist in the morning before I start work. Bday is this weekend and hoping just to spend time with the fam. We'll see.

Lisa

JEss, I don;t think there are clips anywhere for CS. You can buy them on amazon or classicalstretch.com. They are not cheap and shipping is expensive too - big bummer. But I'm hooked now and don't care! =P
LOL at your sandwich addiction! I eat SO MUCH in the post-partum period. It's crazy. DH just wathces me in amazement. lol!

Becky, that is going to be a ROUGH schedule! WOW!
that is SO SAD about the babies! DH's just-turned-17yo cousin is pregnant. She is an immature idiot, to put it mildly. My heart BREAKS for that baby. I wishshe would give it up for adoption.:(:(:(:( I haven't seen taht show but I think it's ludacris (sp?) that they have one like that.
Nice WO's!:)

Lisa, If I had your schedule I wouldn;t workout at all! You are amazing!
LOL about your DS!
Crossing my fingers for no cavities for your kids!:D

Open house tonight for a friend. Tomorrow is my sister Libby's OH so we'll be at my mom's all day tomorrow.

Tonight Laura is coming over w/ all the fruit. My mom wants me to cut it up for her. Making some sweet treat too - I think mac but/white choc bars. Egads - that's gonna be hard to resist!

Was planning on LB weights but maybe I'll run w/ Laura since she;ll be here anyway. WIll do CS in the afternoon.

oooooohhh!
my julia just woke up. she wakes up so happy - so smily & sweet. i was changing her diaper and she's just a-chatterin' away at me - bababobobababa! i love it! i need to figure out youtube.....

awwww, kate, i love those happy mornings! cant wait to have them back... JJ is so much better but not 100% and he is still sort of mopy and clingy, not his usual happy self. cs sounds so great but i am avoiding even looking at it, hehe. glad you are unclogged!

becky, that is a wild schedule, its great you have a supportive/involved husband to help through that. nope not pg - LOL! dh has only been back a week... was it the leslie sansones that made you think? ive been sick (weve all been) and i needed something mindless so i didnt trip over myself. still do actually - horrible pressure behind my ears. doc said since its sometimes 1 or the other or both thats its prob not an infection, just fluid... but i can hardly hear sometimes!

lisa - sorry about your ankle and i totally understand about the doms... this past year with all my various aches and pains, you always end up compensating in some way and so feeling it elsewhere! i loved namaste yoga on fit tv (and lots of other shows) then we switched to RCN cause it was HALF the price. but i still miss fit tv after a year =(

jess, i agree on diapers either too big or too small if you get consistent leaks (or a bad brand of diaper, i s'pose...)

steph - awesome that you got the vest! i want it but cant justify it right now considering how light im lifting compared to pre pregnancy. what is clx cardio like? were you asking about our typical meals? i think i posted you my typical ams before, but my "rush" bkfast is a luna bar and coffee with soy milk. 9g protein, 27g carbs, 190 cals. plus whatever for the soymilk, i dont love soy but i do it for the extra protein and stuff on the run. i keep the little juice box size in my pantry closet.

walked 4 miles yesterday... its been cool and misty/raining lightly the past few days and i LOVE walking in that kind of weather, feels so good! just put an extra blanket on the babe. and i actually felt better enough to do a few interval walk-jog-wlak blocks. we got our food shopping done. dh had an extra day after going to sick call so we went out to TRU for a few things we "needed" lol. we were both feeling a bit better and then around 4:30 it hit us again. too much too soon i guess. made enchiladas and lemon bars but at the last minute, as i was assembling ench to go in the oven, ods recalls his track banquet at 6:30! typical teen lol. stayed home with jj, dh went even tho he felt like crap. i did a can of soup and ench are in fridge for tonight. and i havent eaten one lemon bar, not a one, yippee!

sooooooo many of our baby/kid friends around town are sick, its really upsetting. this was a fast moving and hard hitting sucker, thats for sure. we have a "daddys home" bbq planned for this sunday with over 40 rsvps... but who knows...

sorry. longwinded.
wendy
