Morning all!

Well, I don't get to sleep in even though I'm on vacation, since I still have to take Sophie to school each day. I love being able to do that. Makes me feel like a good mom:)

I did NOT get up at 4:15 to work out though.

Looks like we're getting some rain here today, so I'll do some inside chores. Washing the family room blinds, cleaning bathrooms.

The stream didn't get redone yesterday. Chris also wanted to excavate part of the pond deeper and put in a bog garden, so he did that. I planted and dug and planted and dug and spent the entire day outside. It was glorious!

Hey Shelley!

Gosh, nobody else has stopped by. How amazing.

Wow, it sounds like you had a truly wonderful day yesterday! And of course you're a good mom. I already know that. :7 Are you going to bake special chocolate chip cookies or anything for Sophie? Then she'd for sure say you're a good mom! :p

Today I'm going to do a bit of watercoloring and probably take a walk... down the road, not through the woods. The creepy-crawly things are out in force now, and walking through the woods gets downright miserable. The bugs are far worse than any threat of snakes, though.

Other than that, I don't have much planned. The family isn't doing anything for Memorial Day, so I guess I'll just hang out and enjoy my last day of vacation.

I hope everyone else is enjoying Memorial Day. Hi, if anyone shows up!

Good Morning all & Happy Memorial DAy!

I did a new I-Tread today, #9, 40 minute.. This one was great! I was able to keep up with Grace's walking pace up to the last part when she does some sprints. I went farther than any other one so I must have been increasing my pace. Nice one and only one 8% incline, for a few minutes.. We had a good time at the graduation party yesterday. Now it looks like rain today, very gloomy and the wind it picking up. DH is defrosting ribs and had plans to smoke them all day, not sure if that will happen!

Our baby bunnies ( 2) ventured out of the nest and were walking around the flower garden.. no sign of Mama yet. I sure hope she comes back at night and takes care of them. So far Kelsey is oblivious to them, which is a good thing.

I want to go back to the nursery and see if they have giant zinnias in yet. One of my favorites to use for cut flowers.

I will check in later...

Have a great day! :D

Deb

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

Today will be a quiet day for us. DH still isn't feeling well, so we'll just stick around the house today. I need to go grocery shopping, too, so I'll do that later on. I was going to swing by Target to (finally!) get a KB, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow since I have a feeling that Target might be crowded. Speaking of tomorrow, I have jury duty! Ug! Last time I had it, it was my first summer not teaching summer school. Instead of teaching for 6 weeks, I got put on a 5 1/2 week trial! It was interesting, but I don't want to spend my summer that way again.

Today will be Muscle Max, which I love but haven't done in ages. I'm starting that whole full-body thing for a few weeks, so we'll see how that goes.

Hope you all have wonderful days!

Tneah -- Glad you had so much fun yesterday and that you didn't worry about the diet! Especially since you're still not feeling great, your body probably needed to indulge a bit more. I can't wait to see the new IJ movie. I had to laugh about your sour worms. I love all gummy candy! Have you had Swedish Fish before? They've my absolute favorites! Trader Joe's also used to carry these Australian gummy candies that were soooo good! (They probably still carry them, but I try not to look!;-) ) Definitely call your Dr. about the meds. Perhaps the dose is too much and it's making you sleepy.

Robin -- Are you at work today? When do the guests leave? Has SIL been helping a bit?

Kara -- How are you feeling with that sinus infection? Hopefully better!

Jennifer -- Sounds like it'll be fun in IN today! I LOVE kettle korn, and that homemade ice cream sounds fantastic. Hope you have fun and indulge a bit today!

Lainie -- Do you all have any special plans for the day? I forgot that you had asked about Tracey S's Circuit Zone. How do you like it? I've only done it once so far, but really enjoyed it! I'll be doing it again this week as one of my full-body workouts. It's my first time buying her workouts, and I really love her personality. I can't wait until Strike Zone is finally out!

Deb -- The bunnies sound so cute! Hopefully their mom is around. Hope, too, that the weather stays nice so you can enjoy your BBQ!

Shannon -- That watercoloring sounds like so much fun for today. I'd stay away from the woods, too, if there are all those scary things in there! Yikes! Hope your last day of vacation is nice!

Shelley -- Sounds like you had a fantastic day yesterday, and try not to worry about not getting up early for your workout.

Happy Memorial Day!

Boy, woke up wanting to do nothin' this morning.:) Its going to be a lazy day around here to I think. DH is going to the forum shops to pick up some shirts for my dad (Fathers Day) at Tommy Bahama's...good grief, I think that store is the male equivalent of Nordstrom is for women, Mitch loves that dang store, and has every long sleeved shirt they make. Silly boys. The rats are out in full force--yes, Vegas has rats much to my dismay, our teriminator sets out traps and caught like 9 of the bastards this past week. They love the oleander trees that are very common here. Its so nasty to me, DH grew up in NYC so its nothing to him, says even Park Avenue has them. Gross!!!

Deb, how cute! What color are you baby bunnies? Glad Kelsey hasn't found them, that wouldn't be good. Enjoy your day, and congrats on that workout this morning!

Shelley, sounds like you were busy digging yesterday! I love digging, but since our yard is so big, we have landscape guys to do it :-( I would love to plant my own flowers and stuff, but DH insists that is what we pay these guys for. Actually everyone uses landscapers around here since its impossible to get anything to grow due to the desert and all.

Leanne, quiet day too huh? Hope your DH feels better soon. I adore Swedish Fish! I was hesitant though due to the one crown that is still attached...lost the other one, get the permanent ones this week thank goodness.

Shannon, hope you got my email chica, look for the other ones today as well okay?:) I hate snakes, that would be enough to keep me out of the woods right there!

Do you guys think my meds might be too strong, and making me tired instead of energized? Interesting, I feel strange on them for some reason, need to talk to the doctor. He switched them because the old meds still did not get my levels up to normal. Oh dear.

Hi to Kara, Robin and Lainie...this morning its shoulders/abs and some cardio even though I do not feel like it. :-( Will be back to see whats shakin'....

Hi everyone! I am stealing a moment to wish all of you a happy Memorial Day. :) I still feel like crud and yesterday we took Colin to the Governor's School...not a good weekend so far. :-( I was prepared when he was in preschool, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade to have to walk away from him with tears in his eyes (he is a homebody), but a 6' tall, 15 year old???? Anyway, Emma told me on the way home that she is choosing a college far away from DH and I because we aren't fun! }( That brought me back to reality!

I am sorry to be so self-absorbed. DH is home today, so I need to hang out with him, but I will catch with y'all. See you later today or tomorrow!

Kara :)

Oh Kara, that must have been so hard! I went to boarding school when I was Colin's age, and remember crying...I too was a homebody. Sending some((hugs)) to you. Sorry you still feel bad.

Leanne, you have jury duty? DH got called last month, but they did not pick him, he was actually disappointed, the dork.:) :) He loves legal anything, and knows more about the law than most lawyers and judges do.

Well, I finished my shoulders and abs, I also did the new Interval P90X plus workout. I liked it. I like both the KenpoX (new one) and this workout, so all in all, it was not money wasted I guess.

Just ate my clean breakfast of egg whites, salsa and rice cakes, snuck a little almond butter in too.:9

off to shower...

UG! I just posted something and it got lost! Why does my computer keep doing that lately?!

Kara -- Just wanted to send you big {{{HUGS}}}! Do you think that Colin will do alright once he meets some of the other kids (er, young adults) and gets acclimated? Will you be able to check in with him soon? Hope that the transition isn't too bad! And how are you feeling today? Hopefully better!:)

Tneah -- Glad that you liked the P90X workouts! DH and I did the regular P90 a few years ago and really liked it. It was fun working out together. Yes, I was supposed to have jury duty awhile back, but put it off until the summer since I didn't want to miss any work. I'm just hoping that I don't get put on a trial. UG! So . . . did you add any Swedish Fish to your egg whites?!}(

OK, off to shower. Just finished up Muscle Max and a shake. We'll see how long I can keep this whole-body rotation thing up for. I already miss my split workouts. :-(

Just wanted to pop on and say 'hi'. Having a relaxing (i.e. lazy) Memorial Day here. I already fell asleep on the couch once today. Still not feeling quite up to scratch. I had a nosebleed first thing this morning. I was just sitting on the toilet (TMI?) and thought I'd blow my nose while the paper was right there. Went to blow and it came a gusher instead. Ugh. I haven't had a nosebleed in ages and ages. Not pleasant. Still have the swollen lymph nodes, too, though I don't feel too bad otherwise--just tired.

Going to go do my Pilates now. I'm glad it's not a cardio day since it's very hot today.

Will bbl for personals.

Hi all. Whew, what a day. I thought we'd be all cleaned up and busy with our library books by 10am, but we were busy right up until time to go home. Crazy! When I got home, I took a page from Shelley's book and did some gardening. I got most of my flowers planted and half of my veggie beds are ready for tomato plants and green beans. I hope to get everything planted before we leave Saturday.

Shannon, talking about creepy-crawlies, the ticks have been bad this spring. The cats keep dragging them into the house. We were in the back yard, sitting under our giant apple bush (the real tree died and the root stock sent up suckers that made a big, bushy, spready tree) enjoying the nice day yesterday. When I went to bed, I kept thinking about ticks and feeling every itch was one crawling on me.

Deb, when I was cleaning out one of my veggie beds, I found a hole that looked suspiciously like a rabbit nest. Luckily, it was empty.

Leanne, I hope your DH feels better soon. My SIL and her family left this morning. I really shouldn't complain about them so much. We descend on them every summer and she usually has to work most of the time. She whips up delicious meals for us. The only difference is that we help as much as we can. Since we had our friend "cater" the meal Saturday, and Sunday was pizza night, I didn't have to cook all weekend. I'm going to continue the streak by making the family eat leftovers tonight.

Tneah, rats! Yuckko! LOL at your DH and Tommy Bahama. My DH would rather do anything then shop, no matter who it is for. I got a complement at work today. I had mentioned menopause in front of one of the 2nd shift techs. She asked me how old I was. She was suprised to hear I'm going to be 53. She thought I was in my early 40s. I'm sure the goodies you sent me have helped.

Kara, {{{HUGS}}} Hope you feel better soon. I'm sorry about you having to leave your baby at Govenor's School. Tell Emma we all think you are lots of fun!

Lainie, enjoy your lazy day. I hope you feel better soon too.

Time to go dig up some leftovers. I'm going to bed early tonight. I'm pooped. No workout, since I was busy playing in the dirt.
