I've been lurking here for awhile and have been very impressed with the fitness knowledge that this group has.

I'm a big fitness fanatic, I either run or do workout videos. I have a lot of videos but now that I have discovered Cathe I starting to mostly buy her videos. No other instructor provides enough of a challenge anymore. So far I only have 3 of Cathe's videos, MIC, MIS and an old one, Fit & Firm. I hope to purchase some of her new ones just coming out.

I'm in pretty good shape but would like to lose those last ten lbs and tighten up my abs. Just wondering if this plan would help me acheive my goals.

Twice a week, MIC
Twice a week, MIS (or could I do MIS once and Fit and FIrm once for variety)
Two runs a week usually 4-6 miles
Occasionally I might do a yoga or pilates tape one day instead.

I aim to workout 6 times a week but as life goes with young kids and work sometimes it doesn't always happen. Anyways, I would love any input on my plan. Kim

Hi, Kim! Glad you decided to "out" yourself here! :)

I think your plan is good for a start; however, it might become monotonous very quickly both in terms of cardio and your strengthening protocol. Also, MIC has a lot of high impact in the first section, and that combined with the very high-impact nature of running may backfire on you after awhile in terms of joint stress.

Since we're so good at spending your money here on this forum {and because Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa aren't that far away :) }, may I suggest you invest in the following:

Interval Max (to bring interval training in)
Cardio Kicks (to bring kickboxing in, which is lower impact)
Circuit Max (to bring circuit training in)
Either the Pure Strength Series or the Slow and Heavy series (to bring split-set strength training in)
Cross-Train Express (the whole taco)

and, of course . . .

THE NEW INTENSITY SERIES! (Presale goes on until 10/31/02)

But seriously folks . . .

I do think once you've implemented what you've described, you'll quickly want to vary it, and the above are great. So are several others; I'm trying to be frugal here.

Hope this helps -
