Lurker Invitation September 2009

Hi all, I'm afraid I've been knocked down with the flu - hit me midday yesterday, and I've been a dead thing since. Very little workout ... some hiking on Saturday, and each horse got a ride, then the planting, and then I was pretty much out of it. Fortunately, I'd gotten that second batch of bulbs polished off, because the third batch came today.:eek::eek::eek: This one had 600 daffodils and 40 windflowers/anemones, and a handful of lavender lilies.:eek::eek: And, I see that several other, even bigger, orders are shipping.:eek::eek: Massive numbers of little muscari, even more daffodils, chindoxia ... it's going to be fun :D But, a little scary, since there's always a question as to whether I'll get everything planted before the weather turns cold. More than once, I've been out there in the snow. Anyway, for the next few months I will be spending quite a bit of time in our woods with a shovel! Hopefully we'll get a little rain, soon, because most places I want to plant them, the ground is like concrete.

Yes, I'm an enabler with bulbs, too. Surprise surprise :rolleyes::rolleyes::eek::eek: At 10k feet, I can see why you wouldn't want to get started on those, though. We're at just around 3000 at the highest parts, probably 2500 most places, so I stick to the hardier bulbs. Ideally they are hardy, deer/rodent resistent, and easy care. And naturalizing like crazy. You must be - zone 2 or lower? We are zone 3/4 most places. I remember someone - Shoegal? Michelle? who plants cannas. Sigh, no cannas for me.

Where is everyone?? Working out? Eating Clean? LOL! I know when I don't post I am either supper busy or haven't worked out and don't want to fess up!!
But I know everyone is super duper committed here on this check-in so I am guessing everyone is busy...or out of town.

Anyway that new Studio I started at this summer really wanted me to add another class, so I started a new pilates class there today! It went well, small but good. Then I had a private client at home, a friend, who showed up half an hour late! So had to talk to her about that, hate that with friends...she was at lunch so it wasn't like it was something urgent! The Rec. Center where I work is closed this week for annual cleaning and maintenance so I don't teach there all week. Nice to have the night off..

I am really interested in this muscle confusion idea and so I did a Body Bar workout I haven't done in a VERY long time and only done two times before. It is called All Systems Go and it is one tough circuit workout, I was thinking Body Bar workouts where easier, but not this one! Yikes! Very high impact though with lots of plyo and jumping, quick lunges and squats. My left knee gave me some trouble, don't like that at all! Don't want knee problems EVER!

Hope all is well! Going to take the girls to Boulder tomorrow so will hike down there and then going out with some girlfriends to celebrate a Birthday for sushi!

Janie, Laura, thanks for looking at my pictures :) I'll take more this spring. Someday I'll figure out how to do a time-sequence video, because it is really fun to watch the waves of colors open up over the course of days and weeks.

Laura, that's great that they want you to add classes! Do you find they fill up even more as you get closer to the holidays? All Systems Go sounds very interesting. That's not one I've tried.
Cathe has made me a real believer in muscle confusion, and shifting rotations. Its also more fun to change things around so often, isn't it! on the knees - In your line of work, knee difficulties would be a major problem! And no fun for anyone, ever. Speaking of no fun, that has got to be difficult - waiting for a friend in a business context is definitely awkward. Hopefully she'll remember next time that she's seeing you as a pro.

BTW, have you seen the good news on the Tower? At least good for those who ordered it - I went with my bench, the right choice for me, but the tower does look pretty neat! And, I loved the description of Shock Cardio. Sounds like some bits of it will be like Insanity, only better.

All, I'm still beat and so will go lie down again. Michelle, good luck with the upcoming appointments ... And Ironlady, Shoegal, hope you're both having a good week.

Hi Everyone! Well I actually took two full days off of exercise! It wasn't the intention really, but just to busy with social engagements I just couldn't fit them in. I actually think it was a good thing to do though. my Glutes were so sore from the Leg and Back routine from P90X! I actually haven't been that sore in that area for a sometime now! I guess there is really something to that muscle confusion concept, huh? Even though Tony doesn't really use weights in that series, a few exceptions, most of the exercises were ones I have never done or haven't done in a long time. I might be verging in enabling some DVD purchases, because clearly it is a good idea to switch it up a little!!:)

I went to a really fun Martini Party last night a friends house, she lives a little over an hour away, so I spent the night. It was fun for me to be out and to have a morning with friends. Did some shopping and got home just in time to unload the car and get a Cowboy Chili simmering for dinner. I just caught up on personals..

Janie; that is really intense what your whole family is going through with Sid. I agree with Shadowpup that the loving support you are providing is the best thing you can do for him and will probably help him heal. It is so good that you can be there for you Grandson and your daughter as well. You and I will get back on track tomorrow with our workouts!

Hi Laura, Been very busy with our grandson. What a doll baby!

I see you are enjoying P90X series. Good for you. It is not an easy task, but then again, exercising is not an easy task, especially when you do your very best.

In my drinking days martini's were my favorite drink. Sounds like you had a great time. What is Cowboy Chili? Sounds like it might be hot. :p

You are so kind to support me in the Sid addiction thingy. It can be hard, just got to think of positive stuff. Seems I've been having intense things happen to me a lot the last year or so. Maybe next year will be better. Hope so.

Today we went riding in the car, but it was rainy so came back and used the hot tub. Now that was fun! Didn't exercise today, and didn't want to fess up either. Oh well, tomorrow I promise myself I will. I want to do the Aerobic Yoga. Just love that workout.

I agree, stay away from exercises that may hurt your knee. Is The All Systems Go with Mindy Mylrea (2009). If so, I've seen a clip of it, and man oh man, it does sound like a fantastic workout. I really like her too, she cues very well and gets down to business. Haven't done one of hers for a long long time. Maybe....

Enjoy the hiking, friends and sushi.:p YUMMY!

Janie

Hi all,

Woke up feeling a bit better today - good thing, too, since I need to head out on a short trip (just three days).

Hi Laura, Been very busy with our grandson. What a doll baby!

<snip>
Today we went riding in the car, but it was rainy so came back and used the hot tub. Now that was fun! Didn't exercise today, and didn't want to fess up either. Oh well, tomorrow I promise myself I will. I want to do the Aerobic Yoga. Just love that workout.

Janie, some days are for outdoors, and others are for relaxing indoors! Sounds like you made a good choice. Very neat that you've been having plenty of grandson time :)

Hi to everyone else - I am going to see if I can squeeze a workout in before leaving, but definitely there will be one tonight if not!

Between work and Joe, I have fallen a little behind on posting. I actually took a day off yesterday from exercise: just too drained from worrying about my DH. Not sleeping like a rock as I normally do and my achilles tendon was telling me to give it a rest, so I did.

This morning, I did CardioFusion. There is a first time for every Cathe dvd and this was a first time with CF. This is a compilation of Body Max, LIC, and Drill Max. Tough workout, but good and I felt like I did well for the first time through. Those drill max drills are something else. I don't have that dvd and I'm not sure how I'd get through a whole workout of drills--yikes!

Shadowpup: hope you get well. Travelling while sick usually isn't a good thing for me. Hope you are able to rest some. I am not a gardner by the way. I believe that is Shoegal. Definitely not me. Interesting comment about the after effects of chemo. I never realized that either.

We've been bouncing around doctors this week. Hematologist yesterday. Joe's cardiologist referred him because his red blood cell count is elevated. The doc didn't think the RCD was too bad but he took a bunch of blood and running tests. We are also concerned now about Joe's left leg which is swollen and we are not sure why. Don't think it is from the fall, but can't necessarily rule that out yet. This morning he had sonograms on both legs and his abdomen. The leg arteries are clear (that' good) and his spleen is not enlarged (also good). But his leg is still swollen. So we will wait to see what the results of all the blood tests are. Also saw the orthopedic surgeon again. His wrist is no better or worse. This is going to be a very slow heal.

Okay--enough fun for one day.

Good Evening Ladies! I did my first run today in a long time, did the same route in Boulder I was doing in the Spring, did surprisingly well for myself, and yes typical to Boulder I was passed as if standing still by this amazingly fit woman, a beauty to watch while I could, but she was moving so fast and the trial is windy that it was only for a few seconds that she was in my sight! OH well, you have to start somewhere I guess....:rolleyes:

Shadowpup: oh that sucks that you got the flu, we have the swine fly going around here. My daughter had a cold for a few days but got over it quickly, I had some symptoms but never really got sick, just some snuffles and some sneezes. Are you resting? Make sure to take care of yourself. Did you get the bulbs in? Yes I am a big believer in that muscle confusion, I am feel the after effects so much more when I do a workout I haven't done in awhile, and then I like to hang with it for awhile, and then switch it up again. That is why the rotations are so awesome, even if just for ideas. I can spend hours looking through them...(SHHH DON'T TELL MY DH)

Janey: Yes that is the very same Mindy Myers and workout! It is good, but maybe the movements are to fast with all those jumping lunges for my knees. I want to make sure I am able to exercise late into my life, so don't want to pay later for exercise I do know. That is why I like pilates so much, I have taken workshops from master teachers in their 80's that make me ache in places I didn't know there were muscles! And I am not exactly a weakling, a slow runner perhaps, but not a weakling! LOL!

Michelle: Oh dear this does sounds like a lot from a broken wrist! I hope the swelling has gone down and they have found the cause. At least you guys are very on top of this so hopefully A. it will be resolved soon and B. it doesn't materialize into a more threatening situation. I am glad you are there to keep an eye on him, men can tend to dismiss real health problems... Try to relax and make sure you take care of yourself as well. Maybe a good workout to clear the mind and let out some stress.....

Joey and I are wanting to go to the ocean by ourselves soon for a couple of days. Riding our bikes and walking the beach, sounds so great. Hoping that Sid will feel better so that we can have some alone time. If not, that's OK too. Family is more important.

Today was cardio. Used the treadmill for 30 min. and jogged 2 miles. Burned around 210 calories.

Will be going to Florida with Tina and Chasie to Disney. I got the Itinerary yesterday. Will be gone 8 nights and 9 days. Leaving Oct. 1 will be back on the 9th. First day will have dinner at Teppan Edo.Japan Pavillion. 2nd day: Magic Kingdom. 3rd day: Animal Kingdom, dinner Calf. Grill/Comtemporary Resort. 4th day: Disney Studios, Sci Fi Diner/Disney Studios. 5th day: Epcot, lunch at Tutto Italia/Italy Pavillion. 6th day: Seaworld! 7th day: Typhoon Lagoon, dinner at Flying Fish/boardwalk. 8th day: Downtown Disney or stay at resort, (rest time?), dinner at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical at Pioneer Hall/Fort Wilderness. 9th day: home. It's all locked in and I'm ready to go.

Can't believe I'm taking Sid's place. Poor guy, is giving up some fabulous fun time with his family.:( They tried to make this trip a month or so ago, but Sid couldn't do it. They moved it to the dates above. He still can't, and decided to do it without him with me along so as not to lose money. They (Tina and Chasie) promised that there will be another time for Sid, when he feels better.

Debroah, Sure hope you feel better soon. Can't even imagine how it would feel to be sick and traveling.

Michelle, Wise choice to rest for a day. Wish I could help you not to worry. It just goes to show you how much you love Joe.;) I would do the same with mine. Great job with CF. It is not any easy workout to do at all. Very proud of you. You guys hang in there. It does sound like you are in the best of hands for Joe's health. Please keep us posted and prayers and ((hugs)) for the both of yas. Gosh Darn It!

Laura, Your running sounds great. There will always be someone that will impress and inspire with your running adventures. Great job! I too, have to be careful with my bones, as they are getting more brittle as I age. Modify is my middle name, just reminding myself of that. LOL:rolleyes: I think I'll look into pilates and obtain more info on it. I just might like it too.

Take care everyone, and all that follow.

Janie

This morning was Low Impact Circuit. Boy, that is a fun workout. After CF yesterday, I was afraid I'd be low energy today, but that was not the case at all. It probably helped that I slept straight through the night for the first time since Sept 6, when Joe had his fall. He slept pretty good last night too. I think knowing that his leg arteries are clear and his spleen is good had something to do with that. Of course, we still don't know why his leg is swollen. Hopefully, the slew of blood tests will reveal something. Not sure what is on the rotation tomorrow. I think Cardio Kicks which I don't have. So maybe a little Kick, Punch, and Crunch as a substitute. Oh boy, another really fun workout.

Janie: pack your energy for that Disney trip. That looks like one busy itinerary. You definitely are going to be doing some walking, but I'm thinking you might need a vacation from your vacation when you get home.

Laura: I'm always amazed at how diverse your exercise regime is. Running, hiking, pilates, yoga, weightlifting, aerobics. Just amazing.

What's happened to our Shoegal? Is she on vacation?
~michelle

Good morning everyone. This morning on the rotation, I believe cardio kicks was listed. I don't have the circuit max/cardio kicks dvd, so I substituted High Step Circuit and kicked up the weight amounts. I know alot of folks think this is one of the easier workouts and I would agree, but I find that kicking up the weight amounts increases the intensity and I work up a good sweat.

Seems like we are a very busy crew of late. Folks are out on business travel, vacation, or just plain old busy. Not much new in Virginia since my posting yesterday. Looking forward to hearing from the rest of the gang and catching up on how your weeks have been.
~michelle

Michelle,

I hope too, that the doctors can find out why his leg is swollen. It's so strange that they don't know off hand. Great news about the tests so far. Hang in there, I know it can't be easy.

Most likely will need a vacation from my vacation! LOL:eek: Can't wait though, I know it will be a blast.

I love the workouts you are doing! Sounds like you are doing fantastic.

Substituting a workout is hard sometimes, but I love that you picked HSC and used heavier weight. Good going!

It is a skeleton crew here lately. Life does go on, but would love to hear about it. Miss you guys. I know, I know, school started, working, sickly...

Did Total Sculpting yesterday. Today will be Yoga and cardio.

Take care everyone see ya when we see ya, but hope it's not too long.

Hi all,

I'm back ... sooo tired. This flu really lingers. More later, but wanted to say hello and that I'm still in the land of the living :)

Take care all, talk to you tomorrow!

Hi ya'll! Sorry I haven't had a chance to check-in! Yep busy, busy! So thursday I taught my Pilates class, it was fun and had some new folks. Than home, did some house chores, took a great fall hike straight out my front door. It was a long loop I haven't done in awhile, took me an hour. The first part is a killer climb, think black diamond if you are a skier, straight up in other words, and than once you get to the top you meander on flat ground and eventually wind your self back down to my house. The weather was glorious, fall weather, perfect temperature, beautiful light streaming through golden aspens...love the fall here, to bad it is so short! Than down to Boulder to get the kids, grocery store run and back home to make dinner! I actually also squeezed in the P90X Shoulders and arms workout finishing around 9pm! Phew!

I have had a relatively mellow week + a few more days and I hadn't done any lifting for awhile and surprise, surprise my weights went up quit a bit on that P90X shoulders and arms. I felt good and actually was doing 15lbs for the biceps! So that was cool!

Yesterday was a Boulder day, I did a nice run/hike at the Boulder Valley Ranch, I think around 5 miles, ran the first 35 minutes of it and than walked the rest. Another beautiful day! Than I did a Feldenkris class, which isn't exercise, it is movement awareness. The class focused on head alignment and it was very informative. I used stuff from that class with my private clients and they really digged it!

Today Drill Max is on the books! I have yet to do it, I keep bumping it off when it comes up on the calendar. I think there is a dread factor with that one, and it is ANOTHER PERFECT FALL DAY! I can't help but keep finding myself outside. I think I will see if I can talk my girls into walking Maggie! I was also going to deep clean the kitchen, but as it is already almost 2 pm I don't see it happening! That is the problem with beautiful days, it is so hard to stay focused. Plus the weather is supposed to change tomorrow with a cold front coming through and possibly some snow!!

Going to walk some coffee up to the men, who have been clearing trees one acre of our land for our tree farm status! They are working hard, and well, just another excuse to go back outside again!

Back later for personals!

This morning I did Cardio and Weights. Love that workout. I'm getting really good at the cardio portions, particularly those power squats at the end. Maybe it was because everyone got a good night sleep last night.

Joe called his cardiologist yesterday. Spoke to the nurse and this doctor called back. Told him to get his butt down to his office right away so he could look at Joe's leg. So, off Joe went and he got in right away, his doctor looked at him and declared that he has some time of infection. Okay. More blood tests, blood cultures, and a prescription for cipro. Remember cipro--the drug that was used to combat effects of anthrax a few years ago. Between the cipro and the pain pills, Joe is pretty wiped out. So, we are hanging at the house this weekend. Watching the VT-Nebraska game right now. Go Hokies!

Laura--I hear ya on the weather. It has been really nice here in Virginia. Ripken and I have had some great walks this past week. We're in suburbia, but the walks are still nice. My sister has drill max and she says it is a really tough workout. Looking forward to hearing what you think about it once you tackle it.

Janie--total body sculpt is a nice workout. I like to do BS and the lower and upper body workouts from Cathe Basic Step/Body Fusion dvd. Ya'll going to be heading to the ocean? How's Sid doing?

Shadowpup: welcome back, now get some rest and hope you feel better real soon.

Hope our Shoegal is okay. Hello to Ironlady.

Good Morning,

I was goofing around taking a drive in Hoods Canal and thought I'd go down this street. People were fishing from the banks of Skykomish River. I was able to park and walked down the to the bank. The water was as cold as ice. I thought since I love to fish, that I'd give it a try.

Today I got all my tackle ready to go fishing in Skykomish River. If I don't go now, I'll miss out. I may be too late for the Salmon run as it is, but there are other fish in the river. Perhaps (maybe too high of hopes) that I'll catch dinner tonight. Wish me luck.:D

Laura, Pilates class seems to be booming, wish I could take one of them. Chores? What's that? LOL:D I need to do Chores too. ugh. Congratulations on the muscle gain. Isn't it great to do that? What a few days of rest can do. Amazing.;) A 5 mile Boulder day and started it off with a 35 mile run. WOW! I'm impressed. I'll have to look up Feldenkris on the computer, it sounds interesting. SNOW? Did you say SNOW? Fall is the best time for me too. Spring is second, but there is something magical about Fall. I'm going to be in it after my posts. FISHING!

Deborah, Glad you are home and getting better.

This morning I did Cardio and Weights. Love that workout. I'm getting really good at the cardio portions, particularly those power squats at the end. Maybe it was because everyone got a good night sleep last night. The Fall hike sounds fantastic! Good job on the P90X.

Michelle, C&W is one of my favorites too. I still see in my minds eye how worried you must be. Hang in there, things will get better for Joe. Glad you had the smarts to keep going to the doctors and not wait while his symptoms were showing.

Will be going out to the ocean this Wednesday. There are 8 beaches I want to check out, especially Cobble Beach. There are suppose to be massaging stones there bigger than the size of your fists. This will help my loved ones relax even more during their massages. Of course I won't be able to settle on just a few, I most likely will come home with a garbage barrel full. The rest will be in some kind of landscape. Then there is agate beach, a light house, a sandy beach...walks, biking, camping. I just can't wait! We plan on spending a few days there, but most likely will be there longer. If I'm not posting, then that's why. I'll be back, but only for a day, then I have nine days in Disney. Can you all manage without me? LOL

Take care everyone will report back on my fishing later.

Janie

Today was a stretch max day--did routines 1 and 3. Felt so good. And Ripken was my stretching partner, which means he perfectly positioned himself so I could pet him while stretching. Funny pup.

Janie: we will miss you but we will carry on while you are away enjoying the NW beach scene and Disney World. I have to admit the NW beach scene sounds better to me. Hope you catch some fish today. If you do, who will do the cleaning?

Time to go watch football.
~michelle

Hi all,

Many interesting things going on! Looks like we're all enjoying the last of the fall.

Michelle, I remember cipro and have had it; that's potent stuff and usually gets a person fixed right up. Hopefully that will be true for your DH. In the meantime, enjoy the football! Ripkin is such a character; does he get involved in watching the games, too?

Laura, all kinds of things I want to ask you about, for now just the Feldenkries to workouts; I've heard/read really good things about that method and how it helps with posture, and it seems to me that it needs someone like yourself who has been actually trained in it to show a person like me what to do. Is that right, or are there ways a person could learn from a dvd?

Janie, you are always involved in so many things! Enjoy the fishing!!!

Shoegal, haven't seen you for a bit - and I have new shoes to report! Ryka's.

And, accountability update ... my workouts have definitely slowed with this flu and probably from being overly stressed with work demands. However, it's the weekend and I'm not thinking about those now. I slept for almost *twelve hours* in a row Friday, most with no waking at all, according to my GWF. That never happens, so it's something to watch. Might not have completely kicked this flu thing. I managed only three good workouts in over the past week - an Insanity plyo (yesterday), a Cardio coach, and a long bike. A few short hikes in there, just enough to increase my steps for each day. Today it's an STS week 4 workout and horse riding x2 ... after bulb planting. I did get about 400 in the ground, but another twelve hundred showed up, so time to get busy! And there are many many many many many more coming. My DH is wondering if I'll wear out another shovel this year :)

Shadowpup--glad to hear that you are getting some rest. So far with the cipro, we are not seeing a miraculous recovery, but his leg doesn't seem to be getting any worse and the swelling is definitely less in the morning when he first wakes up.

Football with my Redskins is not so good today, but Ripken is hanging in--well kind of, he is napping next to me while I'm watching the game.

So yesterday I did end up convincing the girls to walk Maggie, but it wasn't very long about 1 1/2 miles. My Sophia has a cold and I didn't want to push her to far. Than I did that P90X Chest & Back which is really only pushups and chin-ups. So today I did finally do Drill Max! I don't know why I was dreading it so badly. I actually found the drills easier than Bootcamp from the Intensity Series or even 4DS Bootcamp it is just longer than those. It wasn't until the last drill, drill #6 that I was like oh, here it is!:D

Janie: did you catch a salmon? How awesome it would be to freshly caught salmon! Have a great trip and we will be here for you when you get back...

Shadowpup: wow, you are still doing a lot for a bad flu, I am glad you had that 12 hour rest! You really are an Energizer bunny, I think you must have some way of making your days longer to get everything in that you do~! Yes I think you really need Feldenkris in person. I don't even know if there are dvd's, I have never looked for one. I am not actually trained but have done privates & classes from time to time over the years. There was such
an insurgence of brilliant minds at that time in history that worked with the body, Ida Rolf, Joseph Pilates, Moshe Feldemkrais, F.M. Alexander, Martha Graham, just to name a few who profoundly effected the physical awareness/movement awareness fields...

Michelle: stretch max sounds really nice, I think I am due for a stretch day sometime soon! I love her routines. I wonder what Ripken thinks of Cathe?
Are you doing the September rotation I can't remember?

Shoegal where are you? Miss hearing from you...Ironlady you to!

Time to go watch football.~michelle
Michelle, I too need a stretch day. Soon, I hope. Ripken is such a character.:) I was skunked on the fish today, but, I learned from some people there how to fish in the river. I just assumed it was the same as fishing in a lake, it is not. So, tomorrow I'll try again.

Hi all,

Janie, you are always involved in so many things! Enjoy the fishing!!!

And, accountability update ... my workouts have definitely slowed with this flu and probably from being overly stressed with work demands. However, it's the weekend and I'm not thinking about those now. I slept for almost *twelve hours* in a row Friday, most with no waking at all, according to my GWF. Deborah, I'm a person with many interests, I just can't help it. I want to do everything it seems.LOL 12 hours of sleep. You poor thing, seemed your body really needed to rest and heal. How can you workout with the flu? I just would be dead to the world. Will you be needing/getting help to plant the bulbs. I feel for you, really. I bet you will wear out the shovel.LOL:D

Laura, You did a great job on walking and P90X. ;) You can do chin-ups! Drill Max sneaks up on you, that for sure. Great job with your exercises.:) Didn't catch one today, but will try again tomorrow. I was trying to fish like in a lake, instead of river fishing. Didn't know there was a difference. People there were kind enough to help me out.

Really nice to hear from all of you, and I too miss Shoegal and IronLady. Will talk again tomorrow and will leave for the ocean on Wed. the 23rd.

I'm back - I did mention - in one forgetable sentence a ways back that last week I'd be again preparing for yet ANOTHER vacation - well, back from that. That is why we pulled the boat out - so that we could put it in at Keuka Lake. They we were (we - my DH, myself and another couple) at our own little cottage right on the lake, with the sailboat hitched up to our own private little dock - ready and willing whenever we wanted. We sailed often -the winds were fierce and heeled the boat over to one side when it really got going - even DH was scared we were perhaps going way too fast. We did more wineries - a few on Seneca Lake as well. I'm sick of wine - have to tell you - and that is a good way to be. Went to Watkins Glen - and saw ample waterfalls - have to post pictures of that. So ate too much, drank too much and got a lot of sleep but not enough exercise. My DH and I were more active than our friends Amy & Sean - so we walked our pups and hiked -and went swimming. I took along Cathe's Ab Hits and did that. I won't try to convince anyone that this was in any way a good workout week. But now I can concentrate on getting back to my beloved routine.

Didn't read all the personals - but you all sound as if you are doing well. I'll check back in to catch up - glad to be back. I also came back to the tower that just arrived. Can't wait to set that up!!!

Shoegal,

I do remember that you were planning a trip, but didn't remember when you'd be back. In my minds eye I see your little cottage, dock and your boat tide up to it. Wish I could take a picture of that. Sounds like you had a great time.

The wind with a boat is always so very scary. When we were taking our houseboat out in Lake Powell, we came a crossed some awful winds, that blew us sideways sometimes. We learned to anchor two and sometimes 4 ropes to keep the boat steady. We lived on Lake Powel just over a year and Joey used to get food for us by using a dingy and a motor in winds like that. Then hop in the truck to go grocery shopping 50 miles away and back to me again. We never knew when the winds would come, there normally was no time to predict it. Your story reminded me of our houseboat days on the water. Now it is in dry stroage and use it as a home base while we check out dinasaur bones, agates, rock hounding...

The wineries, beautiful waterfalls, (so ready to see those pictuers) sound fantastic! Were you able to go behind any of the falls? Just curious.

You are on vacation, so you didn't get to your workouts like you wanted. Hey, we all do it. Just enjoy and remember the good times you had. Start again when you get home and everything is back to normal. You have muscle memory and they are not going to forget. You'll be up to date on exercises faster than you think.

Good to have you back, we all missed you.

Janie
