Yes, I can do it. I love Low max. Even though it is tough on the legs I still give it my all because really, it is not as tough cardiovascularly as Step Blast, for example.
You will be able to squat deeper with practice, and it will feel less painful too as your leg strength increases. But, don't forget that we all have a determined range of motion and genetically, there's no changing that. I can squat and lunge 'til the cows come home, but my range of motion is limited for plie squats. I cannot maintain the straight back, straight up and down body posture that Cathe and Jai have. The particular rotation of my hips and spine forces my body to lean forwards somewhat in the plie squat, just like Rhonda in many of Cathe's earlier weight training workouts.
If you look at Cedie, she never squats as deep as the others and she's well used to performing this movement! All you can do is go as low as you can, and not compare yourself to Cathe who used to be a gymnast, and whose athletic abilities are rather extraordinary.
