Lowmax...cardio or leg workout?

I keep reading how hard this is on your legs, just curious as to whether this could be considered a leg workout. Is it all Step?

Thanks!

it's all step(and floor exercises- no wt work) but it sure does fry the legs. I agree it's a bit of endurance. }( ya gotta love it though!!

I regard this as more of a leg workout because it is not as challenging cardio-wise as Step Blast for example. But it is still somewhat cardio so it's like cardio with a special emphasis!

I think it's both. But if you use the blast only premix, that takes you more into lower body endurance with some cardio benefits.

I agree w/Wendy as I classify it as cardio w/a good leg workout. I personally don't classify anything as a true leg workout unless it truly uses weights. I have legs tomorrow and am thinking of combining this w/a weighted leg workout.

Has anybody tried making Lowmax a high impact workout? I tried this and just loved it - I just did power moves wherever there was the opportunity - it really pumps it up!

For those who do not consider this a cardio workout...are you doing it on an 8" step? This makes all the difference in the world.

I consider it cardio and leg endurance. If you do the moves as Cathe instructs, the heart rate really gets up there because you are utilizing those lower body muscles like crazy. It can be done high impact but I think that would take the focus off the leg endurance.

Carolynjane!

Yes, I have turned it into a high impact workout also and love that option. I know to keep it L-I you keep one foot on the step at all times but sometimes I add power and jumping. Both ways are great workouts.

Hi Candi:

I always use an 8" step, and yes, I go real low to reaally get into those thigh and glute muscles. But to me, it is still more of a leg workout than a cardio. That's just how my body responds to it!
