I have to say I bought the Step system @ Target and it is the best thing I've done for myself in a lonnnnng time. I started the beginner rotation and love, love, love the Stretching and Sculpting videos. The more agile I get I'm sure I will grow to love the Step as well.

In October 06 I had a full hysterectomy. I am 5 months out and sorry to say that I've put on 10lbs. That wouldn't be bad accept that I worked very hard to lose 70lbs in 2002 and made myself the promise to never be that big again.

My problem area is of course my tummy, hips and thighs. Outside the beginner rotation is there something else I can add to target my tummy, hips and thighs? A little extra, extra you know?

Thanks.

Hi Me :)

It is good to hear that you are recovered from your surgery and wanting to put a fitness plan into action. I'm fully confident that you will do very well since you have already proven your dedication by losing 70 pounds....Congratulations!!!!

You are off to a wonderful start with the Target step system. Until you are ready to take on the step workouts, it is very important that you do some form of cardio activity (try brisk walking or biking) to continue to burn overall body fat loss. A combination of cardio and weights from the Target system will be a fantastic way to shape your abs, thighs, hips as well as ALL the areas of your body.

Unfortunately we can not pick a problem area we wish to lose weight from. The weight loss and muscle firmness, when done safely and effectively, happens gradually and uniformly. You will see the non-problematic areas respond the fastest. The problem areas like to hang on longer but don't give up, they eventually give in too. But it is a combination of at least three 30 minute cardio activities per week (eventually working your way to more days and longer sessions), and two days of total body strength training (which is in the Target system), along with stretching, eating well balanced healthy low fat meals, drinking extra water, taking one to two days off a week, and sleeping well, that will make the long lasting weight loss/muscle toned difference in your life.

Best of luck and keep me posted on your progress :)
