lower body and upper body split

Does anyone take the lower body part of one total body workout and another lower body part of another total body workout to make a separate, longer lower body workout? And the same thing, but with the upper body?

I hope this question isn't too confusing. I know there are rotations that use bits and pieces of different workouts. I was thinking of a lower and upper body split using two total body workouts to accomplish this.

I was just curious if anyone did that.
 
Yes, I do this sometimes, I'll do the lower body portion of MM then I do a premix from L&G or B&G on a leg day. As far as upper body I do this with GS back, shoulders and Bi's then I'll do chest and tri's from MM because frankly I have not worked up to GS Chest and tri's(push ups are a real challenge for me)
