Low Max vs. Imax 1 2 & 3

Hey guys. Just got my Low Max today! WOOHOO! Question is, after reading the description, how does it differ from the Imax workouts? Step interval alternating with intensity blasts.....I did Imax 3 (well most of it LOL) yesterday and that's what it was, too.

So anyone have an opinion on the differences? Is one easier (God, please do NOT tell me Imax 3 is easier than Low Max or I'll just die!)

TIA!

Hi, Jill! The main difference between Low Max and The I-Maxes is the reduced impact of Low Max. Many of the mid-range aerobic intervals AND the blasts especially involve high impact (in some cases VERY high impact with airborne jacks, tuck jumps, vertical jumps etc.), high impact loosely defined as both feet leaving the floor. Low Max does not incorporate high-impact drills, but instead incorporates more bent-knee positions and long-lever movements working from the hip joint.

I have not done either I-Max 3 or Low Max yet, but IMHO Low Max is more moderate in intensity compared to The Imaxes. HOWEVER, more moderate does NOT mean easy.

I agree with A-Jock. The workouts are not as intense as IMAX but they are challenging and you'll be moving in a way you are not used too. This is a challenging workout..more so than RS or Step Blast IMHO. Your legs will really feel tight and worked after you are finished too. Your knees will thank you for an intense lo-impact workout. Good for changing things up and keeping your body guessing!!!

Thanks so much you guys! I've only been doing Cathe's workouts since Dec 1 and I couldn't quite do all of Imax3 when I tried yesterday. I was worried that LM would be the same. It sounds like I will love it. I despise any high impact anything, but try to do as much as possible when Cathe does it.
Thanks again!

Is low max divided in intervals like IMax or is it just a high intensity low impact workout? Does it make sense to do maybe a Gym Style workout followed by a couple of segments of low max to get my cardio?

Hi,
LowMax is divided into intervals. There are seven of them. Each interval has a 5 minute low impact step workout followed by a 3 minute interval step workout. All of it is low impact. This is also a leg workout. There is a lot of low end type work and your legs will be screaming and so I think your legs will be worn out after even a few intervals. I would pick another cardio to combine with a lower leg workout especially if you are using an 8 inch step. Try it first as a solo workout and then make a decision of whether you can combine it with a leg workout.
