Low Max question

Cathe,
Do you think it is okay/safe to use ankle weights when working out to Low Max?....I like to add resistance for my legs on my cardio only days.

Thanks

You may also keep in mind that LowMax isn't just a cardio... It's interval cardio on 8 inches. I would not use ankle weights and would imagine injury would be very easy to achieve using weights with this video.

I just did Low Max on Saturday and I think it's too fast paced to use ankle weights. I can see if the pace were slower and more controlled that you might feel like you want to add ankle weights. But you get a really good leg and lower body workout just doing it without ankle weights.

Definitely not - like running, putting ankle weights on doing step puts undue strain on your knees. Not recommended.

I agree. Not only the knees, but the ankle and hip. It basically throws off your whole kinetic chain. If you really want more resistance, then a weighted belt or vest would be a safer choice.

I am not Cathe, but I would say a big "no" to any resistance used in conjunction with a step workout using an 8 inch step. Too much strain on the joints and the knees, imo.
