all those who recently have given low intensity a try (walking, yoga, pilates, physique 57, the squeeze, ect) hows it going? are you seeing more results then before? how do you feel?

I have been doing lower intensity workouts for the past 2 months now. Tho at this point I am not too sure why we are calling P57 & CardioBarre lower intensity! Different maybe but tough once you get into them. Recently I did 2 Cathe step workouts--LowMax and Imax 2 and saw absolutely no decrease in my endurance. I also did Push/Pull and Pyramid workouts in the past 2 weeks and saw no decrease in my strength either. I have gained some flexibility and definitely feel more "limber". The only other cardio I added is walking either outside or with Leslie. Also my abs are doing better--tighter (I can feel it) and a bit flatter. I have to admit I was so tired of the standard sit ups etc done to exhaustion so one of the things I am liking the most about these workouts are the different ways of working your abs--or at least it seems different. I had been avoiding ab work out of boredom and now I actually enjoy it.

Phyllis your right! Those definately aren't low intensity or easy workouts. I should say, how is the different training approach working? Sounds like its going great! Thinking of giving it a go after these final 3 weeks of turbulence training.

Low intensity?

I was inspired by Afreet who took the high rep, low weight approach along with other lower intensity workouts to include simply walking. So, I bought Physique 57 and Squeeze. I LOVE TRACY EFFINGER! I just got the third video in the mail today. I love these workouts! I never thought I'd curse a 5# dumbbell! I love the abs, the legs, the stretching, the fast pace...it's awesome. Oh, both P57 and Tracy use a lot of the same moves. My thighs were burning yesterday after P57. Love it. I feel better and I think the lower intensity fits better with my diet. I will not weigh myself so I don't know if I lost any weight, however, it's only been a week, but I feel great and my clothes fit good too. Hell, it could be just a 'good' week. Who knows. I just know I love my new routine.

I'm getting STS Cardio and will work that in with this, but right now, I'm not doing step because I "felt something" in my knee and I don't want it to become anything since I have the Las Vegas Rock N Roll half marathon in a few weeks. And I'm not missing that for nothing. It's my third one.

By the way, since I'm rambling, I just want to say something. I never run. Never. Yet, since I've been doing Cathe for about 2-3 years now, I can run 6 miles with little effort and I can run half marathons. Amazing.

Well, off to do a Squeeze workout. Yay!

Still doing lower intensity (full-body weight workouts, walk/run, yoga), and have kept off the 10 pounds without even trying. I'm going to ramp things up again for a while, mostly because I want to lose 5 more pounds. 125 was always my best weight, and I'm almost there :D Whee!

I think alternating periods of intensity is what's working. I worked out like mad for July and August, took it slow since then, but maintained the loss. How nutty is that??
