Low Carbers & Friends - February 2012

Tracy, I saw that post on FB. Wow, was BB from WA or was the breeded from another state? That is neat! I also like your workout area, that is nice to have the group you have.

Today we are getting a fairly good sized snow, big fluffy snow flakes. Will probably be melted tomorrow, I think it's going up to 40. It is pretty to look at, just hoping everyone stays safe on the roads.

still working on Meso 2. Hey, I looked on calendar and daylight savings is coming up soon. I think DH and I calculated that in less than a month now, it will be light until almost 8pm. Yea!

Happy Valentine's Day, ladies :). I hope each of you get something from your sweeties !

Rhea - Well, we had a 40% chance of snow Friday and ended up with several inches. That about sums it up ;).

Melinda - How awesome the CLA is doing that for you! Hopefully the new glasses plan will go as well :D!

Tracy - No, spring won't come until May or June :). I agree - BB is every bit as handsome as his half uncle!

Okay, so over the weekend (well, Sunday and Monday) I did Athletic Training and then Afterburn. Afteburn? How about Arseburn! I am still sore! OMG. I hurt to bend over (I mean it feels good, but not.) I have had to take two rest days so that I can recover. I guess I should put those in my rotation for awhile, huh? I really did like the workouts, just not so much the DOMS.

Rhea - AfterBurn definitely is a challenger ! I did the new series for 8 or 10 weeks but that workout kicked my tail every single time ! And silly you and Tracy - you ordered the "new and improved" AB that's even more challenging :p! I hate to think what that's gonna do to you ;)!

So how has everyone been doing? I've been slugging along. I have been interviewing people for my open spot. Lots of sitting. At least most of the DOMS is gone and I can get back out of the chair without groaning so much. I did workout yesterday, did the lower body part of the Body trisets. (or whatever it is called) I was supposed to do the upper body this morning, but just didn't feel like working out. So, this afternoon, I have to get a good sweaty cardio in and that should put me right back in the mood.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Rhea - I'm sure that cardio will get you right back on track ;). Isn't it grand to be able to stand without groaning :p? Hope you have a good weekend too!

Melinda - Is your weather being nice to you :)?

Tracy - Not quite spring here  - how about up there?

Hi babes! Happy President's Day weekend!

Melinda, Basil was bred in WA, it was just a fluke we got him from such a good bloodline because our breeder breeds the little pups as pets, not show dogs. Although my breeder would be thrilled if one of her pups became a show dog!

I also met the Bernese Mountain dog that got Best in Breed too. Gorgeous dog! And not pampered like most show dogs. He runs in the field, gets dirty, all sorts of stuff. :)

I'm excited that daylight savings is coming soon--I can take BB out for a run before dark!

I know I'm silly for ordering a challenging DVD based on Afterburn and Athletic training. But I just HAVE to have them! :p

Rhea, I hope you find a good employee soon and I'm very glad your arse is better! I seem to break my arse early in the week on a fairly regular basis!

P90X called for a leg and back workout yesterday but I had the day off. I did Legs and Glute and the back work from the PS series. It has been so long since I had done L&G that it was like the first time I did it. I really remembered nothing about it! So I got me a new workout! I'm feeling PS today because we use bands in P90X and they don't work me as hard.

Have a great weekend babes!

DH and DS have work and school off Monday, I do not. I am eternally stuck with the bare min holidays and 2 weeks PTO (which includes any sick time I take) and that's it.

We are having really good weather here. Goes between 30s and 40s. We are working on taking a rotting tree down now. DH hasn't had to shovel at all this year.

Finished up week 2 of meso 2. After all the talk about afterburn, I think I'll do that now.

Went to see the Star Wars episode I in 3D. I was a little leary because I have not liked 3D in the past, it would never look quite right and I'd often get a headache. Not this time, they have come a long way with 3D. Well, that's all for now. Time for Afterburn!

3 weeks until daylight savings!

Melinda - You and I will just have to be the regular Joe drones together :p! Glad you and Tracy are looking forward to DST :).

Sunny but chilly today, BUT Wed is suppose to be 59. Maybe a bike ride will happen.

Afterburn was great. I am stronger than I was at first, able to do more, but I have decided I'm not doing pushups with my feet on those discs. I do planks instead, that is good enough. Plus, I'm doing STS to get my strength stuff in.

Have a good evening. My new glasses are in, so will probably get them tonight.

Okay, so no cardio on Friday, got home too late and went out to dinner instead. :)

Saturday was Athletic training and Sunday was a day off since I went to Redding and shopped instead. Hehe

So I really didn't feel like working out yesterday until I was in the game room and DH had on some sports channel that had the P90X infomercial on. That motivated me. So I did Afterburn. Now I know where the sore gluts came from....eek.

Bounded out of bed this am and did the first workout in P90X. Decided that I'm going to do a round of the first X, with some cathe thrown in for whatever and then by the time Summer Challenge comes around, I'll be on to P90X2. What a plan.

So I'm now sore all over since today was chest and back (and I mean 40 minutes of plain ole chest and back (pull ups, push ups etc.)

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Wow, Rhea, you're off to a great start this week ! Bounded out of bed, huh? I don't think I've bounded out of bed - even when I was younger !

Yep, actually bounded! Probably because it was...oh crap, 4:25 already...the cat's knocking at the door, I'm already behind!

Oh dear - I have had those kinds of mornings, too  :p! And here I thought you were just eager to hit the workout ;)!

Actually, I sort of was, and there was no arguing with myself to get out of bed. That was unusual, plus I wasn't tired. Really not me in the morning!

Wow - what a stunning start to the day, Rhea ! Hopefully it will last and be there for other mornings, too :D!

Rhea, you have great energy! No bounding here :) So how are you combinding P90X and Cathe? I thought P90X was 6 days/week. Are you subbing Cathe in at times?

got the new glasses, they are much better, BUT not perfect. This is so difficult, I think it is because I have astigmatism. I think I need to have the dr recheck my eyes and the prescription just to make sure it is correct. I feel it is still off. They say it takes a few days to get used to, but this is not something that a person would get used to. It makes me dizzy and I don't think I should have to stumble around for days waiting to see correctly. That's just my opinion.

Okay, so I didn't quite bound this morning, more like dragged, but I did get out and do Plyometrics.

Not sure how exactly I'm going to get some Cathe in there. What I might do is sub Cathe in for the Plyo dvd every once in a while. The Afterburn is just as hardworking as the Plyometrics and a lot less impact. I'm going to just have to play it by ear. I might even do the Cathe yoga instead of his since his is so bloody long. (1.5 hours)
