I just went to CKSALES to look around.Maybe we could call it window shopping:) I went into the "new" section. They have alot of Lotte Berk workouts. They are all new and I think they mostly focus on pilates/yoga kinda workouts.
Does anyone own any of these videos? I would like to get a yoga or pilates dvd b/c I can do it upstairs where the t.v is eye level.I do aerobics in the laudry room and the t/v is hanging from the ceiling.Whichis fine b/c once you know a workout you rarely look at the t.v anymore.(atleast I don't)
I was just wondering were these worth the money? I have spent way to much money on other videos and they have been a total waste of money.Just thought I would ask ;-)
Thanks,
Lori

Hi Lori,

I just started using the Lotte Berk workouts. I got four workouts on DVD. I have really enjoyed them and found them to be very different from Cathe's workouts, but still effective.

I would say they are more like ballet/Pilates than yoga. On each workout, one person leads while two others show easier and harder modifications. These ladies all look like dancers to me.

Light weights are used on the advanced workout, but for the most part, you're just using your body weight, so no equipment is needed. It helps to have a piece of furniture you can use in place of a barre, but modifications are shown using a wall. I stand behind my couch.

The exercises consist of very precise body positions, muscle contraction and pulsing motions. I went into it thinking it would be easy, but I found it very challenging. You can really feel a burn in your muscles and my hams and glutes were very sore the day after I did High Round Assets.

I've been having some trouble lately with pain in my hips and knees that were making a lot of lower body stuff hard for me - especially lunges. I had no pain when performing the Lotte Berk movements and felt like my muscles were worked VERY WELL.

Hope this helps,

Angela

Hi Lori,

From what I have read, Lotte Berk is very similar to Callanetics. Callanetics was based on the Lotte Berk exercises. I have Basic Essentials and High Round Assets. So far I have done Basic Essentials, and I really like it.
