Lost

NY25

I know a number of people here watch Lost. So, what do you think so far? Is anyone else getting sick of all the twists and turns. It almost seems like too much at this point. I'm beginning to become really disinterested in the story lines. Everything is so convoluted, I kind of feel like I don't really care about these people anymore and what's the point of all of this? What do you think?

I'm still interested in it, and I think they do a good job of answering some questions while setting up others (like what is making that redheaded woman who grew up on the island ill/dead?)

I do hope, though, that at some point they address the 4-toed statue. ;)And I want to know how Richard can look the same in the present and 50 years ago (I thought maybe it was because he time travelled, but it seems like he's really old).

i definitely felt that way after last season. i thought last night was good though and did start to reveal some info.
we now know that richard goes to see locke in the hospital because locke told him to....the girl in the hospital bed in the UK is the soldier on the island..that is why she is sometimes there and sometimes not - same thing is happening to charlotte, which is also what started happening to desmond last year but daniel as his constant in both places saved him. this seems to be the research work daniel had been working on (mind [exclusive of body] time travel with rats).
and charles widmore was on the island, funded daniel's research and has consistently been trying to find the island....all roads seem to lead to him...
slowly they are interweaving plots from previous seasons which should lead to more answered questions. fans complained about the lack of unanswered questions and j.j. abrams promised that we would get more answers than questions this season to address concerns and stifle a dropoff in viewership...hopefully that holds true.

I am dying to know why Richard never ages....that one is KILLING me.

ITA with Kathryn. Every episode seems to answer one question, while opening up another...I love it!

And what IS the deal with the the 4-toed statue. I'm also incredibly intrigued with the Richard character.

One funny thing, lately I keep seeing the actor who plays Daniel Faraday popping up in all kinds of indie films...I'd never noticed him before.

I keep seeing the creepy guy who plays Benjamin in stuff. Mostly reruns of old stuff, but.... Also, I think Hurley needs to go on the Biggest Loser. It makes me sad to look at him, because he is so dangerously overweight now. I think he's actually gained weight since the show began.

Okay, from what I understand it has the ability to heal people, and I assume to keep people from aging... almost like it's the same energy preventing people from aging/getting sick but won't allow new life to grow (why every woman (but Sun) miscarries. I think that is why Charles Whitmore wants to get back so badly - to stop aging or to get that energy. DH and I were talking about this last night, and that is what we have come to, and next week we will probably be proven wrong. I absolutely hate the time travel aspect of the show though. I think it is cool how it has connected certain dots with Richard and his visits of young Lock, but I am getting really annoyed with it what's going on now. I hope that it gets better or that I don't start getting headaches, because I felt just like Charlotte last night.

I think it's a great season so far and very interesting. I loved last season and am really looking forward to seeing what happens this year.

I thought that it looked like he gained weight this season.

But that doesn't jibe with Benjamin growing up (and therefore aging) on the island.
I think Richard (no others we know of ...yet?) is a special case. Maybe that dude in the cabin (what's his name?) as well. Maybe they (and afew others?) are the original "others'? Has anyone seen Richard's feet? Does he have 4 toes? LOL!

Okay, so do you think the girl with the rifle is Daniel's mother? Did you see the look of recollection in Daniel's face when he saw her and then we find out about Whitmore being on the island. (And yes, love Richard's eyes!)

I'm loving this season! I read in the TV Guide last week that the four-toed statue will make a reappearance this season but we have to wait until Season 6 to find out who built it and why it has 4 toes.

Speaking of Richard not aging has anyone else noticed that Daniel isn't aging either? When they show him in the beginning of the first episode he's there when the Dharma people are building the orchid station. That was a long time ago and he still looks the same. I think he knows alot more about the island than he's letting on. I also think the lady at the end of episode 2 that's helping Ben find the island is Daniel's mother. She's also the woman that Desmond met in Season 3 when he was traveling through time and went into the jewelry store to buy a ring for Penny. She could see the future and knew all about Desmond and how he was supposed to be on the island pushing the button.

I agree with you about that being Daniel's mother...and I also think that's the "young" her with the rifle in the 50's.

I was JUST going to say "Richard is HOT". What's up with his eyelashes? Think he wears mascara? His lashes are so dark and lush.
It also looks like he has eyeliner on, but I think it's just his ethnic background (Latino? Italian? something yummy, at any rate, LOL!)

I thought he found a way to time travel, and he went back there, but from when, I'm not sure.
