Hello Cathe, let me start by saying that I absolutely LOVE your workouts! I am an aerobics instructor myself, and everytime I do one of your workouts, it always kicks my butt! I've lost a total of 20 pounds so far and I am so looking forward to the new dvds - thank you soooo much for your awesome workouts, your an angel!)

My question is, I want to lose 5 pounds, but I cant seem to get rid of them! I currently do about 5-6 times a week cardio for 40-45 minutes, plus 3-4 times a week weight training sessions. I think my diet is pretty clean although I think I should be drinking more water. Any suggestions on how I can shed these last 5 pounds? Any advice would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks :D

I was going to post the same thing! I do the Intensity Series exclusively. I am trying to up my protein and drink enough water. 5 pounds by Christmas, my gift to me. The question is - what is the best way?? Cathe? Anyone??

Hi Jcarr! Congratulations on your weight loss. The last 5 are always the hardest. I liken it to when I was in school and shooting to bring a grade from a B to an A+. Getting from the A to the A+ was harder than going from the B to the A. The closer we get to our goals the more we have to fine tune the diet and shock the metabolism.

If you do not think you are drinking enough water, then you probably are not. Consider increasing your water intake so that you have about 8/eight ounce glasses per day. In hot weather or on days where you are sweating more than ususal, increase it by 2 more glasses. Also, change the order or exercises of your weight routines and change the order and/or type of at least one, preferrably two, cardio activities.

I'm thinking that the new DVD's will be just what you need. I think Kick, Punch and Crunch and Step Jump and Pump will especially shock your metabolism. Not too much longer at all for them :)

Thanks for your wonderful advice Cathy! I really appreciate it. I think you are right. I should change my workout routine, I've been doing basically the same kind of workouts for a while, so I think the BB series will be just what I need. You are truly a God send Cathy!

Jackie :)

To add to Cathe's sound advice, I find that what helps me lose weight a little faster is to do something about an hour after dinner (which is the time I might eat a little more than usual due to being on my feet all day). Since I get my cardio during the day teaching classes or late in the afternoon at home, I will save my strength training for the after dinner time frame. It's a great additional calorie burn without being a sweat fest so I don't have to take another shower(something I always do after cardio and before dinner).

Sometimes as instructors it is hard to find that balance. I find that I am always doing something movement-oriented, and it makes me either eat more (and more of the bad food groups!) or not rest enough, both of which are detrimental to weight loss.

As Cathe stated, changing the order of your exercises might be just the shock your body needs.

Good luck, and if you reach your goal, be sure to post how you did it! :7
