LIS or XTRAIN?

I like the LIS series but think it is really plank and push-up intensive. What I really like about XTrain is the fact that you work every muscle and she focuses on the assist muscles too. The rear delt work is fabulous and my shoulders are starting to pop! For these reasons I think XTrain first to build a strong base and then LIS!
Hope this helps,
Amy

yes, you can tie your longer band to make a modified firewalker loop. I also substitute hand weights for the moves that use tubing. I definitely think Xtrain and LIS can both be done without bands or tubing and still get great workouts, that's how I've been doing them.

Mary,
I have both bundles and loving them equally. I had just finished a LIS rotation and decided to "tweak" the 90 days rotation to fit my needs. The first month is the first 4 weeks of the 90 day X-train + LIS. The second month I am introducing some higher impact from X-train cardios and the last month is the last 4 weeks of the 90 day undulating X train rotation. I am finishing the first month now. Cathe has absolutly surpassed herself with Xtrain. Even my DH loves it as he does her short single muscle Burn set after his triathlon training which demands 1 hour of bike and 1 hour of running daily. By the way I am 57 and you can always take a few more seconds to recuperate...Good luck.

I cant use disk either.. I too have berber carpet, i wondered if it was the carpet or me.. So i dont use disk much and i use the bands sometimes instead of tubing cause my tubing is red ( heavy) to heavy for some things.
Cant wait to hear ur decision and how u like them when u get them!

The DOD LIS price is the same as the preorder price! It's a good investment even if you're not interested in some of the workouts. I use the disks as little as possible, which is easy to do for Afterburn, Cardio Supersets, and Athletic Training, which are my favorites. You don't need disks at all for Low Impact Challenge (step workout). I finally realized that I can do Trisets upper body without a stability ball by placing my step on an incline (suggested by someone on this Forum). So while it appears that LIS requires a lot of equipment, there are ways around it. I don't have Xtrain, so I can't say how it compares with LIS.

I just placed my order! I can't believe I did this ... I ordered both XTRAIN and LIS. Well I *had* to, right? LIS was a DOD! I also ordered Lower Body Blast and this caused my total bill to decrease, because then I was able to use the 20% off coupon for the entire order. I've just doubled my Cathe collection lol. That's ok, I used Christmas and Birthday money on this.

I'm going to use the DVDs without buying the discs (LBB says you can use paper plates), tubing, or boxing gloves and I'm sure it'll be fine. Thanks for all the advice on that.

Sheesh, Cathe's new 2013 videos look good too. And I have 4 already picked out, but if you're gonna buy 4 you might as well get them all because the bundles are a great price! Well, I have almost a month to think about that one ... :D

Blkblt, I love what you've done with the rotation. I will keep it in mind. You are an inspiration. I hope to be able to exercise with Cathe and you all for many years to come.

Yay!!! Congrats on your purchase! You're going to have a ball with both of these series.

I'm not a fan of the discs. I thought I would love them but not so much. I forced myself to use them yesterday and then ended up doing jumping jacks without them.

Mine seems to slip out from under my foot and wont slide well on berber, i used furniture polish and it works for a few minutes that it.
