levitation holds tip

I've been trying to do the levitation holds with no luck. Read some old posts which focus on the importance of hand positioning. I got out my pushup handles and gripped them, pressing down and I could do the levitation hold. Maybe I'll be able to build up to a palm on the floor hold but this really helped to get me started.

I would like some tips too and I am almost sure that my weight plays a part in why I can't do these on my palms. I tried using dumbells and I can do a few. I will keep practicing on my rest days and attempt to do them on my palms when i am at least 135lbs.

I don't know if this is cheating or not, but I have to cross my legs and lock them on top of each other. Does that make sense? when you place each foot crossed on the opposing thigh. I think it just makes your crossed legs more compacted so you dont have to lift as high to get your butt off the ground. I believe my arms are a little shorter than they should be so this really aids me in levitation holds. Also it seems to help with balence, I dont sway as much. I switch hand positions for some of the sets to help my wrists. Sometimes after a few sets I have to uses a fist to hold me up.
Not sure if this is really a tip but it helps me and I can still feel it working. Good luck and persistance is the key :)

LOL I tried doing the levitation hold with my legs crossed as you stated and it made it even harder. I will get it one day !

Try them in bare feet. They're somewhat easier without those exra few pounds.

Also, I don't know if I can explain this correctly, but the movement does not come from the hands or arms, it comes from your core. You have to envision the trunk of your body levitating you off the floor, not your arms. You need to kind of flex your core muscles rather than focusing on your arms.

I also do the move in lotus position (cross leg) and barefoot. I asked Cathe about this. She said it is a modified position, but still working the core.

That sounds like a magic trick!

I've was only been able to do it a few times when I first got CoreMax. I haven't done it in a while and I just recently tried and failed! I've lost the ability, but with practice I guess it will comes back.

When I asked for tips on this about a month ago, I got a response that helped me 100% as I couldn't do them. As soon as I tried this, I could do them. Be sure and keep your hands toward the front, not next to your sides as this keeps your body weight balanced. It seems counter intuitive, but it works. Also, as someone else mentioned, squeeze your core. I also do it without shoes on as they are just too clunky and in the way.

I agree with the shoes off for sure. Sounds silly I didnt even think to mention brace the core since it was part of coremax I just kinda figured that went without saying. I think I need to try to move out of my modification and try doing it with my legs crossed normal so I can get the full effect. Thanks for sharing your tips :)

this may be cheating too, but i do mine on the edge of a 4 inch step. i think my arms are short, and i cnanot otherwise get my feet off the floor.
