Let's talk Perfume

my absolute fav is Calvin Klein's Euphoria........get compliments on it DAILY;)

I just bought that yesterday! I am very excited for it.

I got Givienchy Irrestable recently and get a lot of compliments on it as well. I was deciding between this and Euhoria at the time - so I just had to get both now... :)

Jil Sander #4 is my fave, but can be a little heavy, so I don't wear it in the summer. I also wear Clinique's Simply, Chanel's Chance, and Dior's J'adore.

My first perfume was Chanel # 5. I wore it for many years. Some of my favorites over the years were Calvin Klein One and Calvin Klein Eternity.

Now I am wearing Blood Orange by Pacifica and Sugar Lemon by Fresh.

I use to sneak my mom's Chanel No 5 as a kid and thought it smelled so nice. Recently, I put some on at the Chanel counter and didn't care for it. It's funny how are sense of smell changes over the years. My DH loves Allure by Chanel but after finishing one bottle I can't stand the smell of it.

I got Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy as a gift from my mother and surprisingly it isn't bad, fun cotton candy smell and it's a great day time perfume. I am more of a fan of musky woodies scents and this a polar opposite but some how puts me in a good mood.

I use to work with the public and wouldn't wear anything for respect of allergy suffers but now I don't work with the public and no one has allergies were I am now. I think the rule of thumb is if you can smell it on yourself it is too strong.

Does anyone else get non scented lotion and mix your perfumes with it? I tried this once and found that I had to add a lot? Any tips?

I'm going to sound like such a teeny bopper saying this, especially since you all have such refined perfume tastes, but I wear "Hailey" by Aeropostale. I normally HATE perfume, but I happened to sniff this stuff when I was in the store with DH this summer and I loved it. He likes it too, so it's the only perfume that I'll actually wear.

The only perfumes in the whole world that I can stand are Opium (I will follow strange women around who wear this one) and Estee Lauder's Cinnabar. All the other ones make me ill - I really really hate it when people wear perfume in public places or at work - I've told co-workers to please remove their perfume, even some hand lotions. I guess I have an extremely sensitive nose.

What about the scent of stale beer and cigarettes? :p

I am apparently very low brow compared to my Cathe peers. Back in the school days of old I loved Cody Musk (now not so much) and Charlie White. As of the past few years there are a few Lancome scents I like as well as Bobbi Brown Beach. I also like some Bath & Bodyworks scents.

Back in the school days of old I loved Cody Musk .

Going along with Beavs: way back in the day, my first perfume was Musk, I really liked the Bonne Bell stuff...just found it at Walgreens!!! Then it was Muguet de bois. However, now I really like the Burberry London. My DD took me perfume shopping one day and we agreed on that one! Still like Beautiful, Pleasures, oh, and Red Door by Elizabeth arden

Gosh, I love perfume, too!! I have many, many bottles - too many! My latest purchase was Ume and Lohkhoum (sp?), both by Keiko Mecheri, and Success is a job in New York by Bond No. 9. I get a LOT of compliments when I wear Destiny by Marilyn Miglin (men love it - I am guaranteed at least 3 compliments every time I wear it - it must just suite me well!). My first perfume was "Sweet Honesty" by Avon, with Love's Baby Soft right behind it. I still like both of them from a notstalgic point of view!

fave old school perfume

Just like the original poster ,, I am a perfume buff too. I always wore this pale pink stuff that I think was called "loves,,,baby soft " or something like that. That was years ago when I was little. ( I'm 37 now ) Then I went on to wear Liz Claiborne. Not sure of the actual name but the scents always came in either a red, yellow or blue triangle.

For years I wore 'Tresor' by Lancome. Lots of complinents with that one. But now I rotate between: Burberry 'The Beat', Dolce & Gabanna 'The One', and Armani 'Code' for woman ( Armani code is great for winter cause it has this spicey note to it .) There's also a new one that I have not tried yet but smells so awsome. It's called Hypnose by lancome. Maybe Santa will bring me that one !!

Fun topic !!

Right now I love Satu Poppy Showers from Anthropologie. I usually don't like floral scents but this is so nice and light and different. I also really like Philosophy's Grace perfumes. For lighter fragrances, I like Heaven and Dream from Gap. :)
