Lets talk pants

Okay so I know we all have a favorite jean or pant and I was curious what you guys wear and how much will you pay for a good pant. This is just meant to be fun. I personally find it interesting all the pants out there and all the prices. What makes them worth the price?

I, within the past year, have gotten out to the malls and seen what is out. I shop at the name brand re-sale shops (Suprise). I am in love with the two in my area Platos Closet and Off the Rack. You would not believe the prices I have paid for expensive jeans for around 25 bucks. Best part is they all are new with tags still attached. Can you believe it.

Now in saying that I just fell in love with a pair of soft comfy pants from the Gap ($54)and Hollister ($36). My biggest investment ever was this past weekend from The Buckle. I got a pair of BKE ($98). OH MY! Let me tell you for the first time ever I did not have to buy a belt, usually when I find a jean it fits everywhere but the waist and I am sick of wearing belts so my mission was to find a wardrobe of pants not needing belts and I found them.

I have my eye of MKE's but they are $135.00 I do have a $10.00 off coupon and they were an additional $10.00 off for their sale of the day, however, I refrained from trying them on and left the store but I really am curious what makes these jeans so expensive and isn't denim just denim am I missing something here?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE fashion and am hoping to get into the field when my kids are older. I just wish they would think of us who want to have nice things but want to pay realistic prices does that make sense? I think I just was in Dillards looking at jeans and prices and there was a pair near $200.00 or more even can not even remember the name I glanced at because I just could not believe it.

Look forward to hearing your responses. I personally stated that this was for fun and I think we can all respect the different financial situations each are in so lets not knock who pays what OK?

I am happy that they have re-sale shops for namebrand clothes I am not to proud to admit it. I have even found stuff at Goodwill and Salvation Army so I live at both ends of the spectrum. Oh and lets not forget about Ebay!

Well...I'm definitely a cheapskate when it comes to clothes. Most of what I wear comes from Old Navy, The Gap, TJ Maxx, etc...and I almost never pay full price.

Unfortunately, none of the above have had any non-denim pants that like for a while now, so I relented yesterday and ordered a pair of khakis from Athleta for $74. That's the MOST I've ever paid for pants...they better not suck.

If I spent a lot of money on clothes, I'd spend too much time worrying about getting them dirty...and that's no fun. ;)

fittings are hard

I always have things altered because I'm not very tall. And I'm losing weight. So I just get things altered down to my size. I've even had so called "petite" pants hemmed. And as I get smaller I get them taken in at the waist and then hemmed again because they hang lower now that I have a smaller tummy.

I've paid from $50-$150 for a pair of jeans but the jeans that I own that are $150 I wear all the time and are over 4 years old. The wash and construction of a jean and yes, the brand will dictate the cost. I have never been able to find a $50 pair of jeans that has the same wash, cut, and style of my Joes Jeans or my Citzen Jeans. Honestly I sorta live now in my workout clothes (I work from home) since I work out 2 times a day. My jeans are for my rest days. I have shopped at my local good will or thrift shop with no quams at all. Hey it's recycling. Sometimes when I'm in a super creative mood I'll shop at thrift shops and cut up pieces and make new clothing with the old.

It's taken me a while to find pants that are right for my body (large waisted, relatively small a$$ed). I am loving Club Monaco's pants--they're not cheap but not terribly expensive either. A very tailored look but feminine too.

The most I've paid for a pair of jeans was $108 for a pair of Luckys. I love them and I'm willing to pay it because I have a big butt that is hard to fit. :p

I recently bought a pair of Levi's that are for "curvy girls" and paid about $40.

I wear dresses/skirts to work and only wear jeans on weekends when I go out. My jeans last a long time so I don't mind spending the extra money when I find a pair that fit right.

I also love Plato's Closet!!! Just a couple weeks ago, I bought my new favorite Jeans- Gap Long & Lean jeans... for $10!!! I rarely EVER spend over $30 on a pair of jeans. Another favorite pair of mine are See Thru Soul that I got on a clearance at Marshall's, I believe?? They're normally around $80 jeans that I got for around $25.

I'm not a fashion gal, I'm all about comfort. :p That's one good thing about being a SAH/WAHM. Jeans and v-neck shirts are my usual *uniform*.

I forget what I wear for dress pants ~ I almost never use them (I need to get out more).

My jeans are Levis. I get them for $20 - 30 at Kohls, and they're very comfy. I have a small army of them in my closet and wear them nearly every day.

Oh I love Levi's! I like Lucky's too, but Levi's are my favorite, for fit, style AND for price. And you can order them direct online now! :)

I cannot bring myself to pay the obscene prices for today's jeans. I remember when our choices were Levi's, Lee's & Wranglers (but only in a pinch LOL). I remember how shocking Calvin Klein's & Gloria Vanderbilt's were at first b/c of the price (nothing comes between me & my Calvin's--shut up you tall, gorgeous, ego-crushing hag! LMAO!).

I shop at second hand stores and get great values for brand name clothes. I don't pay more than $15.00 for them. Can't beat that, I just wash them when I get home. They're wonderful and people think I paid a lot of money for them.

Maybe I should keep this to myself from now on, because if everyone else did this, it might not be such a bargain anymore. My lips are sealed from now on.

Most of my jeans are from Gap, Guess, and Forever21(the trendier ones). I did just order a couple of pairs of Mossimo from Target. I'm hoping they'll be my "everyday" jeans for around the house, etc. Oh, and I have a few pairs given to me by my friend. She buys without regard and sometimes her loss is my gain:)

For dress pants, I have pairs from Banana Republic that I adore. I splurged and it was so worth it. I also have pants from Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft, and even Target:) Now if only I got to wear them more often. And I love thrift shops and resale, too. I used to go a lot more when I was younger and scored some awesome finds. Now, everyone shops there!:(

I remember when it was Guess Jeans that were in. My girlfriend could afford them and paid $95.00 she washed them for the first time and ruined them.

I definitely didn't pay that much for my Guess! They were on sale at Lord and Taylor and I had a gift card:)

I absolutlely agree and almost didn't say anything but I am just so excited about it, plus I am done. I found 7 pair! Can you believe it in one stop? Luckys, Seven, Old Navy, blah blah blah,

I really don't have any favorite jeans. They are just so uncomfortable to me. I am the opposite of Laura. I have a smallish waist and big butt!
For pants, you can't beat Ann Taylor Loft. The Julie pants fit me perfectly. Any jeans suggestions for me would be appreciatede. I have one pair that I just like. They are from Express. I have lots of jean s in my closet, I just don't like any of them. They don't feel good.

For jeans... I just purchased 2 pairs of 7 Jeans... got them at Marshalls for 29.00 and I love, love, love them. They fit like my 95.00 pair of Luckys, which I only wear if its a "Lucky" worthy occasion! :)

For the perfect pair of black pants for work: Don't laugh-- Sears!! They carry a brand called Apostrophe that is great!! Machine washable, come in many lengths and waist rises and no ironing needed. Price 25.00. Go see the "softer side" if you need new work pants!! :)

Love Lee brand pants - love the fit, and the price at the outlet stores - Lee/Wranger - and Kohl's, of course. I just got a pair of wonderful black stretch denim Lee's that I know will become a favorite pair. At the outlet stores you can get Lee pants for $14.00! I have a couple pairs of Lucky jeans that I got on ebay super cheap, too. I must have 6 pairs of long Lee pants & close to 10 pairs of Lee capris.

For me, you can't beat Eddie Bauer for office casual. I bought two pair of stretch twill pants (buy one, get one half off) for $45.00 at the end of summer. Now, this was the Eddie Bauer Outlet store, not the regular store, but I *love* these pants. I'm wearing a pair right now. They fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable.

My office is very casual, so they're perfect to wear to work on days I don't have outside meetings.

For jeans, I have a pair of Levi's, a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt, and a pair of Member's Mark (from Sam's Club). They all fit me differently and I like them for different things.

My biggest problem with pants (and skirts, too), is finding stuff that fits in the waist. Anything that goes around my hips is way too big in the waist.

Thanks for the tip about Sears, Lynn, I'm going to check that out!
