Lee Comfort or control fit?

Hi,

I have seen a commerical for Lee and Wrangler jeans called comfort fit or control fit.
I forget which. They are supposed to fit at the waist without the open gap in the back and have control top at the waist for a "slimming" look.

Are those the type you have? If so are they comfortable?

Cindy

Love Lee brand pants - love the fit, and the price at the outlet stores - Lee/Wranger - and Kohl's, of course. I just got a pair of wonderful black stretch denim Lee's that I know will become a favorite pair. At the outlet stores you can get Lee pants for $14.00! I have a couple pairs of Lucky jeans that I got on ebay super cheap, too. I must have 6 pairs of long Lee pants & close to 10 pairs of Lee capris.

I really don't have any favorite jeans. They are just so uncomfortable to me. I am the opposite of Laura. I have a smallish waist and big butt!
For pants, you can't beat Ann Taylor Loft. The Julie pants fit me perfectly. Any jeans suggestions for me would be appreciatede. I have one pair that I just like. They are from Express. I have lots of jean s in my closet, I just don't like any of them. They don't feel good.

LaDonna,

I have a smallish waist and a big butt! I love Levi's 529 Curvy Jean. They fit great.

I love my VS jeans and just bought some dress pants at the GAP which I wore today and felt so great in them!!! They were close to 50 bucks which is more than I like to spend but totally worth it!

I love Buckle jeans, they don't have them in NJ, but I have been to stores in Texas and Florida. They are around the $72-98 range.

My absolute favorites jeans are the Jane style from Ruehl No. 925, those I think are around $80. Everytime I wear them, my husband says my legs are so skinny. I love when he says that. It's not true, but those jeans are magic!

But when I find jeans I love I wear them to death.

I am running in to use my $10 off I will check those out today!

I'm a HUGE proponent of "you get what you pay for".
After years of buying less expensinve clothes that the fit was "passable", and they lost their shape after one wear, I decided to bite the bullet and buy expensive clothes that fit beautifully and last forever.

Jeans are my #1 in this category. I bought jeans from Express, Gap, etc..., and for me, they lost their fit after one wear (escpecially the strech kind - they stretch to 2 sizes bigger by the end of the day!). I kept buying "just another pair" because I was always hoping for a better fit. Finally, I found True Religion. Yes, they are $200-300/pair - and I pay that - but like another poster said, they last for YEARS without losing shape or fading. And they fit my body perfectly. I may buy 1 pair/year, and given how long they last, they are worth every penny. I can tell you that I've spent more than that on less expensive pairs trying to find the right fit or shape.

Same with my dress pants. I live in Banana Republic clothes (except for these past 2 seasons, I've been really disappointed with their styles). My average pant is $100ish, and I'm wearing pants that I've had for 3-4 years.

For work pants (non jeans, business casual) I buy up Gap and Banana Republic wide leg styles that are lower waisted. I pay between $45 and $80 a pair. I have a smaller waist and bigger thighs and I'm tall. Their long styles and wider legs fit me perfectly.

For jeans - I have the best luck at Lucky and buy on sale which means they are usually around $50.

Can anyone recommend any other companies/brands that have petite lengths?

I usually get my pants at Loft or Banana Republic (on sale), but have had a hard time lately finding any cute styles that seem to fit.

I'm a True Religion fan too. Absolutely worth every penny!!! They look great on;)

For all of you who think they are hard-to-fit, please check out www.zafu.com. They have a about 10 questions about how jeans fit on you, then give you a list (including where to buy) of what jeans would probably fit you. They even give price ranges!

Great site, and their results for me have been right on.

I own a couple of expensive pairs of jeans, that I purchased on sale.... I got them for 50-70% off the regular price. I wear these when I need "nice" jeans to go out and I have them dry cleaned so they stay nice. For everyday jeans, I happen to really like Express jeans. They fit me very well and the washes are real nice. Express had a BOGO 1/2 off sale back in September, so I purchased my jeans from them at an avg. cost of $40/pair. I've actually purchased Lucky Brand jeans at Costco for $40!! I bought my Lucky brand jeans a while ago, lost weight over the summer, and now the jeans are a size too large, so I am unable to wear them. I'm NOT complaining.... I'd rather the weight be gone from my body than have the jeans fit! I can always buy more. LOL. I won't throw the jeans out though.... just in case. Dress pants I don't wear much, but my favorite brand of clothing is INC, available at Macy's & Bloomie's. I wanted to get away from pants this year, and so I've added a couple of skirts to my wardrobe instead. ;)

I just got these - they are VERY comfortable - I paid $25.00 with my Kohls charge discount:

I also have 2 pairs of the extended tab One True Fit style.

Great thread.. love reaidng everyones hang-ups in this department lol!

For me true jean-freedom came when I decided that I wasn't going to let the length of a pair of pants come between me and the pants I like.. Id have no pants lol!

Now I get whatever I want and have them all hemmed.

I would pay whatever I had to for clothing that I liked (as long as I could afford it).
Money would (otherwise) be no options for me.. Im really so very simple when it comes to my wardrobe choices.. however Im also very picky.

I look for everything from color (exact tone in cases of colored items) to trim, precise cuts in every area, flares, hems and everything.
I'm very picky about how I like others to see my body (and how I like to see myself). I know what elements enhance my body and make it look its best (we've all had a certain item of clothing that just DID NOT do us any justice lol)..

As for jeans... it's honestly all I wear.. I gave up my black slacks years ago I don't even think I own a pair.. and I don't wear skirts or dresses..
I'm very short legs, but not real slender or frail. Not being heavy or over-bulky down there I need a jean that will hug what I do have to make me look curvy..
At the same time I have increasing muscular thighs and need something that will accomodate that, yet still fit the waist.
Since my teens I have opted for highly stretch fabrics.
The past few years I have worn nothing but stretch jeans. No more than 97% cotton (most of jeans are designer from Europe and only have 82% cotton- yessss!!)

And they are priceless to me :)

The cheapest pair of jeans Ive purchased in the past few years were $60 from a brand I think "Plastik" (?).. they were full price, 98% cotton (eek) but I loved the style. I wore them for a couple months and they are now too small (another good thing about stretch fabrics is that they don't get too small!)
Since Im someone that will wear somehting until it falls apart.. I like the fact that they will stick around for a few years.

I have some old Express jeans form years ago, but they're a little too stiff for me sometimes.. I keep them around cuz they do fit OK and they are black.. you know how hard it is to find a washed pair of BLACK jeans??
I actually used to love Express SEVEN jeans.. they OK when they have plenty of stretch, many of them don't however.

I can't even remember the last time I pourchased jeans from the mall or department store?

If anyone has a Banana Republic outlet store near them, they're having a great sale! Almost every pair of pants in the store is 50-60% off! I picked up three pairs today that ended up being about $22 each!

I love a good bargain! ;)

I used to be an absolute jeans freak! I loved designer jeans, and loved finding different shades, embellishments, etc. No more. I only wear GAP bootcut now. I can dress them up with heels and I can dress them down with flats. I know exactly what size and length to get. Also, this is one brand that actually makes smaller sizes in LONG enough lengths for me. I have to order them online, but since I know the fit so well, I can just pick my size/length and order away.

I wish I hadn't spent all the money I did in the past on the designer jeans I no longer wear. :(
