Lets Get Insanity Mon, 8/10

Hi All,
Well it's so easy to get your butt out of bed at 4:45AM to workout when the scale has made you nuts the day before. For those of you that missed my check in yesturday, basically i'm up 6.5lbs in like 2 months!!! Needless to say I had NO idea!!! Thank you all for the advice yesturday, I went out got a little notebook to start my food journal as I've done in the past and I'm going to "fix" this before it gets any worse.....I think the food is probably is it...It's summer and I've been having to much fun!

Anyway today is Back/Tri's from Meso 1 and then a 20 or 30 minute run/sprints on the treadmill. I think I'm going to keep with my combo of Insanity and Meso 1 for the next 4 weeks and see how it goes....that is unless anyone can think of something better that I should be doing.

Thanks so much and have a great day
Elena

Good Morning Y'All!!

PC & CA done. As always the day after a rest day for me is always tough and coupled with a Monday morning just makes me grouchy, but Shaun did it again and got those endorphins going to make me feel good :p

Becky - I wish I could offer you some advice re weight gain. My guess is that it is diet related. That is my issue with losing these last 5 stubborn pounds. If I kicked my diet into perfect high gear I know they would melt away, but I would probably also be cranky in that process :p

A-Jock - great job on the workouts!! :D

Sandra - I love, love, love P90X+. I've done P90X 3 times (1 Lean, 2 Classic) and P90X+ 2 times. Whenever I do one of these rotations, I'm always thrilled as to how my body responds and I tend to never skip a day because I'm so OCD about messing up the schedule - consistency is the key :D

Kariev - welcome back :D Such interesting stuff you are learning. My grandfather was an orthopedic surgeon.

Colleen - enjoy your first Insane week. DH thought the same thing about CR :D

Becky - LOL re "Brooke knows best". My youngest DD's name is Brooke - all I need is for her to watch a show called "Brooke knows best"

* So I caved to the marketing and ordered the Results & Recovery Formula and Shakeology since DH was interested, too. I'll see if I notice a significant difference.

Have a happy Monday :p

hi ladies. no insanity for me today. got up at 6 and did M1W1 back and triceps. going to do insaity tomorrow and use it as my cardio workouts. I have been feeling runned down with too much cardio so i'm cutting it back to 3 days per week. the weights felt really good and i missed them since i was doing the insanity rotation. well i'm off to the seminar. i'll post about it later.

G'Morning!

I haven't had a chance to catch up since I've gotten back but I had a good workout (after nothing since last Tuesday). I was not expecting much with my first one back at it.

Resting and not doing any workouts really helped me recover quickly from my cold. Something I'm not always so good at..

Today, I did Plyo Circuit (I'm starting week 3 over but skipping the fit test this time).

Ahhhhh!!

kariev, You're making me miss STS, but that's a good thing :D since I plan to do another rotation after Insanity.

Jennifer, These workouts always make me feel better afterwards too. Not quite as much last Tuesday since I was just starting a cold, but .....

Elena, I know how you feel my scale went up 4 pounds since last Tuesday:eek:, but I'm sure most of that is water weight. Sounds like you're tackling it head on and you'll do just fine.

Hi Everyone!

I did CPR and I feel those endorphins today. I was tired over the weekend but I just think I tried to cram too much into too little time on the weekends.

Elena, I think the food journal will help you see where the problem is. Good luck writing everything down - it is a lot of work.
Jennifer, I have thought about the recovery formula too but I don't think I would drink it unless it is really good.
kariev, I completely understand about going overboard on the cardio. I have been doing lots of weights so I am ready to do more cardio.
Dawn, glad you were able to rest and recover from your cold before getting back to insanity.

Hello everyone!!
A-Jock: I am humbled by your workouts, you are quite the cardio junkie. I am keeping track of your workouts and will attempt them after I have done the entire Insanity rotation.
Elena: I feel for you.... the same thing happened to me during STS, I really had to watch my intake during that program.
Today was CPR and I tacked on Shoulders and arms from P90X. Wow are my triceps singing!! A few more days of Insanity and then a rest week before starting month 2. I am looking forward to the new workouts but I am reaaly looking forward to the active rest week. I don't know if I will do the same workout everyday or throw in some power yoga or core synergistics for a little change. Any ideas, ladies?

Great workouts everyone.... Let's Go!!!!!!!

I crack up everytime I read that one of you did CPR! I think I'll NEED CPR after some of the workouts! :p

The chaos in my house has begun...started pulling stuff out of the attic to get DD#1 packed for college! She had her wisdom teeth out last WED. woke up in severe pain this morning...I'm thinking dry socket...headed to the oral surgeon this afternoon. Ugh!

Also heading to chiropractor to get my back and hip adjusted. I REALLY need to be able to workout right now. I NEED the endorphins and distraction from emotional eating!!!

Can't wait to post some great workouts like the rest of you!!! Y'all rock!! :D

Good Afternoon Y'All!!

Dawn - welcome back and i'm glad you are feeling better. don't worry, those 4#s will vanish in no time :p

Colleen - i'll let you know if the R&R formula is good. DH needs something extra because of how active he is with work, sports & now Insanity and he was blessed with a great metabolism to boot  and my workouts are first thing in the morning with my coffee & water before & during the workout. i'm thinking the R&R formula may help. i have a fruit smoothie for breakfast after my workout and I think a scoop of that Shakeology would be good, too. we'll see.

Brenda - i'm considering an active recovery week also with some power yoga, core synergistics & maybe a kickbox and kettlebells just because. i'm looking forward to the next set of workouts

Becky - hope your daughter feels better soon. i got dry socket when i had a wisdom tooth pulled, which is why i have not returned to get my last one taken out - talk about pain that will bring you to your knees  although the dentist then put some tissue building gel/liquid which gave me immediate relief, but that was not until a Monday after I suffered the weekend when I had the tooth pulled on a Friday - lesson learned not to have surgery done on a Friday if I can help it :(

so i just got back from the laser spine surgery seminar for my mom. we both think its very promising and she plans to have it in early september. i'm so excited for her. i just want her to be better! it looks so good and the physicians we spoke to today were amazing. problem is this may delay me from starting work as i will have to go with her for 5 days but i guess i shouldn't complain about an extended vacation LOL. Sounds like everyone had great workouts today!

Kariev ~ exciting news about the seminar! hope it really makes a huge difference for your mom! :)

DD had not 1, but 2!!! dry sockets!:( I'm so glad it didn't happen until today. They packed the sockets with gauze and a numbing agent, go back Wednesday to get it switched. Then Friday for a last check. This was my fear, getting it done so close to moving day. She leaves Saurday for college. Prayers please that it's okay on Friday!

Chiropractor helped back, but no go on the hip. Heading to PT Wednesday. So aggravated, but I'm going to make myself feel better by ordering the deluxe Insanity discs and the Plus dvds from P90X! :p

Keep posting those awesome workouts! You ladies rock!!!! :D

Becky

Hi,

I posted this on VF, but I wanted to let you all know that I started the recovery week today. I did my Fit Test and then did Core Cardio and Balance. I really liked the Core Cardio and Balance workout. It's a lot like Pure Cardio in that you do drills but don't repeat them. Many are drills done in other workouts but they are done slower and there is a short rest in between them. It is not an easy workout, but it's not as hard as the others. Actually, I think it fits the description "active recovery" pretty well. I did not like the recovery workout in Month 1, so this was a pleasant surprise for me. If I had known, I would have subbed this one. I won't do it everyday as suggested, but I will probably do it one or two more times.

Have fun!

Lauren

Hello Insanitators!

I have little time to post today. Today was my Insanity rest day. I did some easy vinyasa yoga, STS Disc 16 Shoulders, and taught a total body endurance weight training class. I don't use challenging weights for the class, so it doesn't create an overtaining dilemma.

A-Jock - thank you so much for all the good advice! I'll check out those links! Your weekend workout sounds like a pile of fun. I DO love to be in the water; I love to do fitness swimming. Unfortunately, I don't have space in my life for that right now. But I'm a water baby at heart.

Tomorrow I'll be doing CPR, and STS Disc 16 Triceps.

Cheers!
Sandra
