Good Morning All!!

CR for me today and call me crazy, but this stretch is starting to grow on me. I actually liked the lunges & squat pulses and how deep the stretches got. Can't wait to jump back into a Cathe workout since I always dread all her pulse moves. My hats off to you who are adding more to this program. While sometimes I feel like I could add on more weight work, etc., I understand that I need the rest days to be able to continue this program for the full 60 days.

Dawn & Kariev - hope you feel better and just do what you can :)

Colleen - welcome back :D

Becky - sometimes life gets in the way. you have a lot on your plate now and your daughters must be your priorities, mine are 7 & 4, but I already see how quickly they grow up :(

Brenda - i can relate to the puke point on quite a few occasions. i workout first thing in the morning with my coffee & water and sometimes I feel that coffee :p

Sandra - i have yet to do any of these workouts without at least slowing my pace down or taking a few second break to be able to jump back in. enjoy CR :)

Nothing for me today again. I'll get back to in on Monday and start week 3 again (I think I goofed and said week 2 yesterday , just goes to show you time flies)

Sandra, I can tell you everyone in the video ends up taking breaks or slowing down at some point. Usually I just slow down. I admit that sometimes my slowdown pace is almost to the point of stopping, especially during side to side ski on the floor thingies and the frog jumps. Hey, if Shaun T can't even remember all the names to his moves, how can I? :p

I won't be checking in till Monday again so everyone have a great weekend.

Hi Everyone!

Today CR was scheduled but I did MM instead. I will do CR on Sunday which is usually my stretch day. I haven't done weights this week and I wanted to make sure I got some weight work in.

Sandra, I did CPR yesterday and I did catch some people taking breaks. I agree it is a little easier than the others but still challenging.
Becky, sorry about your sciatic nerve. It must be crazy getting your kids ready for school and I know it must be tough trying to squeeze everything in.
Dawn, have a great weekend!
Jennifer, I am looking forward to the stretch but I prefer to stretch on my rest days.
Brenda, I have had the puke problem with running so I am really careful not to eat too much before I do high impact workouts.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! :)
I got in a 2 mile run, 20 minute cycle, 20 minute weights, and 20 minute pilates with soem friends at the Y this morning. No INSANITY today, but I will probably do Recovery tomorrow after my 9 mile run!
I'm going to cut myself some slack until the girls get moved in and work in the INSANITY discs as I can. I will start the full rotation on August 24th.
If it's okay though I'd still like to pop in and check in with all of you until then? :)

Becky

Becky, great workout with that sciatic problen flaring up..... How I wish I could run more than a few miles, it has been years since I stopped running regularly (rt hamstring tear, left hip arthritis) and I do miss it. I am hoping Insanity will help prepare my body for some longer running, earlier this summer I was only running (or should I say trot?) 2.5 miles at a time about twice a week, my poor hip couldn't take any more than that. Hopefully I can gradually build up mileage again in the fall.

Well today was Plyo Cardio Circuit and I have to tell you, I wasn't feeling it. I grumpily made my way through the 2nd circuit and really had to have a serious pep talk with myself to get through the third circuit. I was not loving those ski abs and in/ out abs and I was very happy when it was all over. After that was over, I stretched really good and then went right into P90X shoulders and arms. That disc is my second favorite (Core synergistics is #1 in my mind) of the P90X series. I feel wiped out and happy, and am looking forward to my "rest" day tomorrow. I teach an advanced step and sculpt on Fridays, and i love to workout with the peeps!! I may take the whole day off on Saturday so i can truly get a rest day in this week, I feel my body needs it!!

Have a wonderful day everyone.... the rain has stoppped in our area so I am off to mow the afternoon away,

Brenda

ARE WE GOOD, Y'ALLLLLL?!?!

LOL! I want to put that on a t-shirt.

Cardio Recovery this morning was nice. This is my rest day of the week, so it worked very well. The isometric holds with the squats and lunges were brutal, and the hardest part, IMO. This is a critical workout in the series. We're stretching muscles and strengthening joints/muscles to allow for better range of motion in the cardio workouts. This workout is the one that will generate results in the other workouts.

I finished my workout today with Biceps from STS M2, Disc 15.

I previewed Pure Cardio. Finally, I just sat and watched one of the cardio videos! I can see what you're all saying - everyone in the group had to take a few breaks to get through it. That's fantastic to see! I love that Shaun specifically told people to take breaks when their form was getting sloppy. He actually practices what he preaches. And he took all sorts of breaks, too. The goal of these workouts, obviously, is not do them all, and do them perfectly. It's just to DO THEM. Challenge yourself to work hard, but if you kill yourself, you won't be around to see the results!

Jennifer - I'm going to be a fan of CR, too. I love yoga, and love an active recovery day. Thanks for letting me know that you have to take breaks, too. As long as we're out of our comfort zone for 95% of the workout, we're still doing good stuff.

Dawn - LOL! I heard Shaun today say that in his Pure Cardio: "I'm so tired I can't remember the names of my own moves!" That was funny. Enjoy your weekend!

Colleen - I haven't done MM in aaaages. It's such a good one! Enjoy!

Becky - You did a 20-20-20 workout today LOL! Nice job! I instruct at the Y. Are you a member, or do you instruct, too?

Brenda - Shoulders & Arms is my favourite P90X weight workout. Just love that one. How did it feel? After all that wretched plank work in Plyo Cardio, they must have been nicely, ah, warmed up, I should imagine? I have arthritis in my right hip, and a tight left hamstring. I'm thinking there's a connection between the two: I compensate for my hip by doing something that involves extra stress to my hamstring.

After doing STS M2 Disc 14, Legs, yesterday, I decided I can probably drop those from my week. I really don't think it's necessary, and is more likely to lead to an overtraining injury, more than improve my lower body. Insanity has enough lower body stressors, I think!

Have a great day!
Sandra

Sandra, what a great idea for the TShirt....I am gonna do it!! I think you are right about the hamstring/ opposite hip connection. Compensation is an interesting thing, isn't it?
I used to instruct at the YMCA in our area, but it closed last year, now I work at a small private gym in the area. What classes do you teach? i currently teach a pilates classs and an advanced step class, looking forward to starting up my kickbox and bootcamp classes in the fall after I have finished allthis INSANITY!!
