Good Morning Everyone :D

I cant believe I just wrote Nov 1....where does the time go?

Yesterday I did disc 16, chest, tris & shoulders, a lowmax premix and then went walking at the beach in the evening. Loved the back off sets in that one, it really fries you. This morning I did disc 17 legs, trisets rule! (and hurt) lol ;)

Hope everyones weights, running and swimming today goes well and that your DOMS isnt too, too bad. lol

Talk to you later, Happy Monday!

LOL When I saw Nov 1, I had the same reaction!

Yesterday I did Step Heat. Which is ok, but I find oddly structured.

This morning was Disk 16 chest, shoulders, and triceps. I'm already feeling my outer pecs. Thanks to my lovely tower, I'm 14 lbs heavier on chest presses than last time around and really feeling it. I was the same or higher than my first round of STS on everything today.

Good luck with all your workouts!

Ughh November! If fall is any indication of winter I am not looking forward to the change in season!

Today I did Disc 15 Chest Shoulders and Biceps. Man those extra sets at the end were killer. I can't believe how much my heart rate went up! Things went well though and I managed to follow the target weights so that was good. There was a brief moment of concern when I realized that I had my squat rack a little high for me to get the barbell back on while doing a chest press!

Then I did a CC run after on the treadmill. I had planned on running outside this morning but I had one sick kid last night and the other brother just wanted to join in the wake up party. I think I might of got two consecutive hours of sleep! Anyways, I am hoping that this is just a mild flu for my oldest as he has a fever and everything.

It felt really great to run to Cardio coach again. I kept it down to 37 minutes though. I am sure that I will be ready for bed early tonight!

Cathy - Way to go on the chest presses!

MJ - It's so nice to walk the beach! I am jealous!!

Talk to you all soon

Hi Ladies

I swam for 45 minutes (60 laps) and aqua jogged for 25 minutes, then sat in the hot tub. I have DOMS from disc 9, legs. The DOMS from 9 were nothing compared to 3 and 6. Do you think it was the disc or am I getting stronger? Do you remember feeling a difference?

Tomorrow is shoulders, chest and tri's. I think I am doing disc 22 next.

MJ - those back off sets are something else! Wait til next week when you get to the double wave load. Playing tennis and walking on the beach! You're living the life!

Cathy - I'm loving the tower too. I'll have to check my notes to see if I increased as much as you did.

Heather - I almost missed my rack too! I won't misjudge ever again - man, that was a scary second or two! Hope you get some sleep tonight. I am impressed you got STS and CC in on two hours of sleep!

I included the link from our last thread, as Sassy had checked in with her disc 3, and I have some chatty stuff in there for you, Heather, but didn't know if you had seen it.

On to Tuesday STS Warriors!

:D

Hi All,

Disc 4 is done! I was able to do 60% of my 1RMs this time around. But my muscles were so fatigued by the end of the workout that I couldn't complete all 15 reps of the last few exercises. It felt good in a challenging sort of way. :)

I'm stationed in Europe, so we did the change back to standard time this weekend. I'm having to get used it being dark by 6PM as well as the cooler weather!

MJ--sounds like you really worked it yesterday! I hope the evening beach walk was more of a relaxing walk than a workout. ;)

Cathy--Wow, what a difference the tower made! I have mine, but just need to get it out of the box & put it together. I know, I know, why would anyone let their tower sit in the box????? Just busy with work, the kid, etc.... I'll get it together for Meso 2.

Heather, hope you're kids are feeling better & that you get some sleep tonight!

See you all tomorrow!

:D

Janis, thanks for posting the link for all to see my check-in yesterday. :)
I bet you are getting stronger. I remember the DOMS was major for me the first 2 wks of each mesocycle, but had lessened by the end of each one (except for Meso 3). :)

Hey Again

It is almost 9:00 and I think I have to go to bed! Ha, serves me right.

Thanks for the link Janis. I will have to look into the lifting hooks. Put them on my Christmas list! As for the heart rate zones I had used the method that the had in the CC website because I have a good idea what my max heart rate is...perhaps that is what is wrong. I did better at it today. Anyways confusing!
As for you sons, I am sure they are very sharp, I think my BIL's comments are more to do with the ability to reason decisions the way you think they would...(can't remember the whole explanation).
I am sure that you are definitely getting stronger if the DOMS are reducing. All those leg discs are killer!

Sassy Lady - glad to hear you are doing well! I am actually looking forward to the time change so that it is lighter in the morning when I run. I really feel like I am going to get run over when it is pitch black. I always get off the road when a car comes but it is a country road and have been questioning my safety lately!.

I'm planning Step Blast tomorrow and I am pretty sure there will be two sick kids tomorrow! But at least I am prepared now!
Good night
Heather

Good morning everyone

This morning I did Step Blast the whole things which was fun and then SJP abs. The SJP abs seem so plain compared to Cathe's other stuff. Two sick kids again but at least they are not miserable sick!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello STS Warrior Princesses

I just finished disc 22. I am having trouble with motor function at the moment! Just in case you're missing push-ups, they're back! Mild, though they are, I did go to failure well before Cathe!

The name of the game on this disc is drop-sets. This week my shoulders are more fried than chest. However when I was doing the chest presses I kept getting up and checking the weight on the barbell - I could've sworn I put more weight on the left side than the right! Not so. I must be noticeably weaker on the left. That is one advantage to dumbbells; you work the muscles more independently.

Oh - and so much for me stating I won't mis-gauge my rack again, I almost dropped the bar twice!

This is my last week of Meso 2. Since I am a month behind with legs and getting a lot of rest in between the upper body workouts, I am considering pressing onwards, and not taking a Meso 2 rest week.

Cathy - I'm only benching 6 pounds more with my rack - YOU ROCK!

MJ - how are your leg DOMS doing?

Sassy - my eleven year old put my tower together for me. How old are your kids?

Heather - sorry your kids are still sick. But, hey, what's that saying, "Misery loves company." So, at least they have each other! And better they are sick at the same time than dragging it out over a few weeks.

It's 100 Acre Woods Blustery today, crisp fall air, bright orange and yellow trees, broody skyline - it is quite beautiful in a change of pace kind of way.

Tomorrow the dishwasher repair guy is suppose to come finish the repair, unfortunately I have not received the vital part yet. (oh, yes, Cathy, he is a cutie pie...I only know this because this will be his third visit! I usually get the tooth-less wonders, with saggy pants and well - you -know- that repairman belly bulge on one side and an enormous showing of flesh on the other side.) But I digress, while I loiter around waiting for his arrival I think I'll do B&G, this time the whole thing.

Alright - now I need to fuel and do something productive.
:D

Hello Everyone!

I did Body Max step routine + 2 blasts today. I am suppose to do abs too, but not quite motivated yet! Hmmm, maybe I'll save for an early morning workout tomorrow. :)

Heather, it's funny that you mentioned the benefit of more sunshine in the morning that standard time brings. I drove to work this AM & thought how nice it was to have some sunshine in the morning! I get spoiled by the long sunlight hours in the summer when there's sunlight both early in the morning & late in the evening.

Janis, my daughter just turned 7. She's a girly girl & groans whenever I tried to get her to help me carry stuff or help out with putting things together. She does seem to enjoy watching me exercise & sometimes tries to join in, so hopefully she will at least have an interest in fitness as she gets older. :)

Cathy & MJ, hope you're doing well!

Until tomorrow, have a good day!

Today I did MIC the warm-up, step and blasts. Then I did the abs from LIC.

Janis I had the same problem on Monday with my left arm struggling with the weights. Not a problem I usually have, so I don't know what was up.

Hey Everyone
Happy Hump Day. I am very pleased to be a STS Warrior Princess! I did Disc 17 this morning Meso 2 W2 Legs. I am feeling it in my butt for sure! I did the workout with my adjustable dumbells for the squats and deadlifts this time to be able to make the quick change. I really like the barbell better but this worked. It seemed heavier with the dumbells for sure.
The boys are both still sick and the Doctor who has not tested them says it's H1N1. Lovely. We are just keeping things very low key this week I think.

SassyLady - my 5 year old really likes to make routines for me. Sometimes they are actually difficult for me but other times it is a form nightmare! He uses some old 3 lbs weights!

Janis - It it a actually pretty nice here for this time of year too. It is too bad that the kids can't really go out and enjoy it. Now NO dropping the barbell! I have to say that I am very impressed at how long you can swim for. I used to lifeguard for years and swimming can be very underestimated as cardio!.
I know what you mean about one weaker arm. My left is always struggling to get the last few reps while the right has no problem and the opposite for my legs!
Good luck with Dishwasher Man!

MJ - Hope you are doing well!

Cathy - is MIC step good? I haven't' done it yet. I almost died after the Hi/lo at the beginning and had to stop.

Talk to you soon
Heather

Hey Everyone

I just finished KickMax and a 10 minute core workout. I did the Blasts first to try and get my heartrate up for the combo's... I would say that it worked! My butt is talking to me a little after yesterday's legs. I actually hurts on the outer area rather than where I usually get DOMS. Maybe that was the dumbells versus the barbell. Anyways, I am sure they will be still sore after the KickMax leg drills. It's all worth it right?

My MIL is supposed to be coming this weekend but she may back out because the boys are sick. (I can't blame her but she has not been here since Christmas and is always looking for an excuse). I am actually concerned because she makes such a big deal about me working out and the way that I eat. I am actually considering getting up really early on Sat so that she won't ever have to know that I was already up and worked out. Sad isn't it! She is a total ectomorph and has never broken a sweat in the 16 years that I have know her.
Anyways, just had to have a small vent.

Hope everyone is well!
Heather

This morning I did 4DS Double Cardio and B&G Stability Ball Abs. My legs really aren't sore, though I can definitely feel certain muscles when I move.

Heather I really like the step from MIC it is tough though and like I think I said before i've only done all of MIC one time. I really think that doing all of MIC is the hardest of Cathe's cardios and I have Hardcore Extreme!

It's almost 60 now and it's supposed to get up over 60 today. And it's SUNNY! The boys are outside playing now - in shorts and T-shirts of course, because it's over 50. (their cut off point LOL) I hope your boys feel better soon.

Hi STS Warrior-esses

I just finished disc 24 back and biceps. I went to failure on the deadlifts a lot earlier than I expected. I wonder what is going on with my left side, when I picked up the barbell, the left side felt a lot heavier, again....it wasn't, I checked! SO glad I have the lifting hooks.

I am doing STS Legs disc 12 (last one in Meso 1) on Saturday. Then on to STS meso 2 for legs, and Meso 3 for upper body.

Time is flying by!

Found this list of top ten bad ass female warriors. Of course, we are number 11. http://listverse.com/2008/03/17/top-10-badass-female-warriors/

HEY MJ - where the heck are you girl? Did work swallow you whole? I hope your getting some tennis in, or walking on the TM at the very least.

Cathy, no cutie pie today, a 60+ y.o. guy named Gary. Damn. And my dishwasher didn't get repaired. Double Damn. I did B&G yesterday. Tell me, how do you do those stability ball abs where you pivot from your left hip to your right hip? I can't seem to figure it out.

Heather - MIL - ugh. Rant anytime. Her comments are her self-defense! She, most likely, doesn't want to be reminded she is fat and old. I have a neighbor who used to tell me, in response to my complaints about postpartum softness, "just go with it." In addition to the covert measures, you could tell her: a)it makes you happy, which makes you a better mom. b) it's your hobby c) your DH likes it that you stay in shape!

Hi All,

I love being a STS Warrior Princess! :) I ended up taking an unplanned rest day yesterday, but got back to STS today. Back & Triceps (Disc 5). It was the first one with drop-sets. Did pretty well--able to do 65% of my 1RM & most of the reps. It was a little hard as I still have some DOMS going on from my chest & shoulders.

I'm keeping this one short as I am super sleepy & ready for bed. Hope you all have a great evening--Friday is almost here! :D

Hey Warrior Princesses :)

Im alive, Im alive...Janis work almost did swallow me whole, but I used my warrior moves to survive and escape for a little while anyway. ;)

Despite the crazy work schedule this week, I have kept up with my workouts. Monday I did disc 17 legs and 4DS Double cardio, Tuesday ended up being just a walk on the treadmill day, Wednesday was BM2 cardio and abs and today was Disc 18 back/biceps and walk on the treadmill. Disc 18 went well except for the one leg deadlifts. My problem is that my small hands are having a hard time holding the bigger dumbell the way cathe does. I went down in weight some to accomodate until I figure out a better way to hold the higher weight but not lose the form. Any ideas?

Janis- you are flying through those lower body workouts, glad your healing so well. I have issues too with the left side weights sometimes. Its just not quite as strong as the right and always gets to failure first.

Heather - hope your kids are doing better. My only advice for your MIL situation is not to hide your workouts, just do what you usually do, if she is prone to make comments, it wont matter if she sees you working out or not, she will still make them and then you can just say whatever you want as a reply....or you can just practice your kickmax moves on her for fun instead ;)

Cathy - your weather sounds great, I am back to the usual heat and humidity, I am having my usual withdrawls from not having the change of seasons properly. I miss real autumn weather and change of seasons.

Nice job Sassy on the drop sets and pushing through meso 1 DOMS.

Alright, off to bed so I can tackle the second plyo leg workout in the morning before pushing through one more work day before the weekend.

Talk to you tomorrow. Have a good night.

Hey Everyone

This morning was Disc 18 Back and Biceps. I know that a bunch of you have already done it! I really found that by the time I got to the concentration curls I could not get anywhere near my target weight. I was supposed to use 20's and ended up at 15's. At the beginning though after all my whining about not being able to hold up the barbell for the rows, I miss counted and put an extra 5 lbs on the bar. Oops. I made it through but maybe that is why I was so fried by the end!

Gotta get cleaning for the MIL visit today. I am still hoping that it goes really fast and I'll still have time for a run before she gets here!

Talk to you soon
Happy Hallowe'en Everyone!
Heather

Happy Halloween :)

Ended up doing C&W cardio and abs yesterday morning and took the evening off. This morning I am going for a walk at the beach and will tackle plyo legs tonight, which will keep me away from the candy. ;)

Heather - I had the same experience with the concentration curls, had to drop down a bit as well, no juice left in them by that point. Hope you get through the MIL visit.

Hope everyone is well and enjoys their Halloween however you decide to spend it. :D

Talk to you later.

Hey Everyone.... They got me!

I have had a low grade fever for the past two days but felt fine and thought it was maybe due to something else. (Maybe a little overly wishful). Anyways today I actually feel unwell. I guess I have joined the ranks with the H1N1 too. I guess I have to sit out today. Hopefully I can get better so I can stay on track with the STS weights! My youngest still has a low grade fever too. Damn! I was going to do Legs and Glutes today after my MIL left. Yes, I know I am chicken. Anyways, at least I got to a run on Friday. I did CC4 which was 45 minutes. It was great.

I hope everyone had a good Hallowe'en. I have overindulged as well. (Maybe that is why I am feeling worse too). As if it's Hallowe'en and I am PMSing too. Bad combo! But when I feel better I can get back on track! Right!

MJ - I love to hear that you are walking on the beach - It reminds me of walks on the beach last year and it makes me feel warm!

Cathy - Did your boys go out for Hallowe'en?

Janis - K the warrior princesses! I have actually been to Colchester England (my Grandad was from there) and seen the Boudica statue. Her story is incredible! Grandpa used to tell us the stories but it is way more impressive in person. Good luck with all those Legs discs! Is you ankle holding up?

SassyLady - Did you get to do Hallowe'en where you are? I know it's such a big deal in Europe?

Cheers Everyone
Heather
