Good Evening-

Where is everyone hiding? So quiet in our thread the last few days. Thought I would start us a new one anyway.

Did an imax2 premix this morning and will walk on the treadmill and do Ab Circuits Medicine Ball abs tonight. Onward to meso 2 starting tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hey there MJ!

I thought most of the gang was on recovery week. I did Meso 1 Week 1 legs Saturday, and boy I am suffering today - criminee - where did those DOMS come from?!!! I didn't have it this bad the first go around.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, I'm doing Meso2 week2, disc 16.

Wednesday is my follow up appt with the Orthopedic Surgeon, I am hoping for an okay from him to return to activity.

I am so impressed you can get a morning and evening workout, of some sort, in each day.

Today I had a mediocre swim at the pool, without music exercise can be tedious and boring, don't you think? I thought the ipod was fully charged, but apparently it wasn't, it turned off after 30 minutes of swimming. So I sat in the hot tub instead.:)

Hey Guys

This weekend was our Thanksgiving and the fam and I travelled all over and then had a big dinner at my house yesterday... I have missed working out all weekend because of travel and time. I am really feeling it! I need to get into gear and work off all that food and pie! I finally figured out how to make good gluten free pie crust which my DH is very excited about but my waistline is suffering.

I am going to do KickMax and get to work.

Janis - How do you listen to music in the water???? Sounds like it would be so cool! I am feeling for you with those DOMS. Man you get out of the system for a minute and you pay when you get back... but at least you know that it will be worth it!

MJ - Thanks for starting the thread!

Talk to you later
Heather

It's my rest week and I've got a mild cold, so I haven't been doing much. I did do 4DS LIS cardio yesterday, and I'm hoping to do a short cardio tomorrow. I'm so glad this fell on my rest week, though I think I'd be ok for lifting. I'm pretty much down to just minor congestion and coughing, but the coughing is always worse in the morning which is when I work out. Hoping it'll fade away over the next few days.

Good Evening :)

This morning I walked on the treadmill for an hour and tonight I did disc 13. Its such a big change from meso 1. I must say I enjoy the longer periods to get set up for the next exercise, much less frantic. Lets hope I can move my arms tomorrow night for tennis, cause they feel an awful lot like jello at the moment. :p

Janis - I think I had DOMS worse with disc 3 than any of the other meso 1 leg discs. Good luck with the doctor tomorrow. Fingers crossed for good news. :D

Heather - Sounds like you had a good early thanksgiving weekend. How did kickmax go?

Cathy - Sorry your sick, I hope you recover quickly so you can join in with meso 2 next week.

See you all tomorrow. Have a good night.

Hi Everyone!

Happy (belated) Canadian Thanksgiving Heather! PIE! Any holiday with pie is a holiday worth celebrating! I have an ipod Shuffle that was waterproofed - it is called the Swimman. Swimmers have come up with all sorts of devices and contraptions over the years, but the Swimman seems to be favorite solution so far amongst swimmers. It is really fun to have, especially when I have it charged properly, and have the earbuds (waterproof headphones too) inserted correctly.

MJ - thanks fro the reminder about the Disc 3 DOMS (and your commiseration Heather)

Today I did disc 16. For some reason when I have shoulder/chest DOMS I confuse them with the need to eat, or the belief that I am coming down with something....you know that achey fluey feeling! Funny. (for the record I am fine.:p)

Cathy, hope you feel better tomorrow. Coughs are the worst, they sure can linger around and zap your strength. BUT this is NOT going to happen to you.

Thanks for your good vibes for tomorrow's visit.
:D

I'm thinking that rather than tempted fate, I'll just continue to rest until Sunday and see how I feel then about cardio. Actually, I feel fine now, but I'm still a bit congested and coughing. Unfortunately, coughs tend to really stick with me and have ever since I was a kid. Thankfully, I usually get them less than once a year. I got last year off, so I'm hoping this is it for this year!!

I do wonder what it is about Disk 3 that makes it so nasty. I've never had DOMS before like I get from that disk.

Hey Everyone

I feel behind that I am not doing Meso 2 but I will be there soon enough! I did Low Max today and Core from one of the Cross Train Express. My legs are pretty sore now but a good sore (not anything like Disc 3 DOMS!)

I actually got a walk in too. It's funny about the feeling of coming down with something when you have DOMS in your chest! I think I felt that way the first time I did STS Meso 1 for the whole month!

MJ - good luck with those arms!

Janis - I will have to store that away for another year , I just got a shuffle for my B-day.

Cathy - Sounds like you are on the mend! Hope you can get back at it.

Tomorrows plan is a run!
Talk to you later

Good Evening Everyone :)

Today I did an imax3 premix and AB Circuit no equipment abs. Those blasts in imax3 are ridiculous compared to imax2. At least I could attempt them, they werent pretty, but I didnt do terrible either. lol My brother was in town for once so tonight we played tennis for 2 hours. He's way way way better than me so it was a good challenge. Needless to say between the workouts and work today I am pretty tired. ;)

Dont feel behind Heather that your not doing meso 2 yet. We are all on our own schedule. :D

Glad you are feeling better Cathy. I think the extra rest you are doing is smart. Its better to heal first. Which is always good sounding advice, but hard to actually do, at least for me.

Janis, how did it go with the doctor? Good news I hope?

Alright, time to pass out and get some recovery sleep. Talk to you all tomorrow. Good night.

MJ Some of those blasts in IMAX 3 are crazy. I have these little bitty legs and I honestly don't think at any time in my life I could have managed to jump the length of the step. I usually come reasonably close the first couple times and then jump at an angle to do the jack, so I don't hit the step, but after the first couple I struggle to even get that close.

Actually this has been a pretty good week for me to rest because we've been extra busy. I get to stay home tomorrow though and work on my painting project some more.

Hi MJ, Heather, Cathy Jo Jo, and Denise

My orthopedic appt went well. I am mending well, and according to the dr. the x-ray looks as it should. He gave me return to running instructions. I can run one mile, 3-4x, this week, with the proviso that I pay attention to any signs or symptoms. If none, then I can proceed to running 2miles next week, and 3miles during week three and four, then I have another follow up appt.

He was funny in that he told me I could run as soon as I leave his office, he said, "Because I know you're going nuts!" {laughing.}

Unfortunately I couldn't run immediately after I left his office, too many other things to do. I did run this morning though. I walked 10 minutes, ran 5, walked 10 ran 5, for a total run of one mile in ten minutes. I followed that up with STS disc 18. I have to say, I love Meso 2. And I love working back and bi's together. No new DOMS at the moment, thank goodness, because I am still suffering chest DOMS.

I haven't tried any of the Imax's, you guys have me scared now!

MJ - How nice to play tennis with your brother, nothing like sibling competition to bring on the GAME. lol.

Heather - how is the extra glute work going, I remember you were going to work on getting higher and rounder - I am curious, cause after sitting around for 4 weeks mine is lower and flatter, and I need some ideas and encouragement.

Cathy - I think I may have missed something, what are you painting? Isn't it rather magical that rest weeks fall right where they need to be!

I'm working on houeshold bank reconciliations at the moment. Fun stuff, I tell ya! (not!)

Tomorrow is swim day! I may come home and do Meso1w2 Legs....maybe. ;)

:D

Hey Everyone -

Walked on the treadmill this morning for an hour, then tackled disc 14 legs tonight. The trisets are killer, but I enjoyed it more than the meso 1 legs. There is something psychologically thats better for me when I know I am only doing 10 reps at a time vs the 15 that makes all the difference in how I push myself. We will see if I still feel this way next week when the weights increase or tomorrow night when the DOMS from the jello legs kicks in. lol

Cathy - I hear you on those jumps the length of the step. There is definitely room for improvement, or at least as much as my short stature will allow me. ;)

Janis - Great news from your doctor. Im glad you get to run again. Woohoo! When you good and healed then you can attempt the imax fun. The key is to start with the premixes and work up to the full workout. The premixes are hard enough.

Hi to Heather, hope your day went well.

Alright, off to bed. Talk to you later. Have a good night.

Hi Ladies

OH MY GOD!

That is all I can say.

After 4 weeks of sitting on my duff I must be really out of shape, criminee, Meso1wk2 Disc 6 kicked my butt. I actually had to sit down a few times to catch my breath, and walk around to lower my heart rate.

I don't recall being this whipped the first and second time I did this - as a matter of fact - I did Meso1 legs, 2x a week the first time through!

Phew -

Oh - and Heather, I meant to tell you earlier, if at some point you would like to have your iPod shuffle waterproofed, the Swimman people (person?) will waterproof it for you...no need to buy a new one.

Hey Everyone

I am working away here on a Sat morning so that I can get a run in before I have to go out tonight... (actually girls night out - way over due)
I am hoping for just a 30 minute run! I should not be procrastinating but!!!

Yesterday I did Bootcamp cardio x2 and then Bootcamp core work. I always find that one killer.

Janis - That's so great that you can run and did run! So awesome! Don't you hate that shock feeling of getting back into it! It won't take long to get it all back! The extra legs day I think is really working. The other day I was doing LowMax and I could actually see muscles in my thigh moving - a little striation. We'll see.

MJ- Jello Legs - sometimes I think I am not going to make it back up the stairs after Meso 2 Legs!

Cathy - I am there with you for the IMAX3 leaps! I can't make it through that disc with out taking breaks. I do find IMAX2 more fun than IMAX3 even with the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing you did that crazy disc!
Talk to you soon
Looking like today may be my rest day after all - but that's okay too.
Heather

I got back in the swing of things today with Step Blast and AC Medicine Ball Abs.

I'm painting the hallway, living room, dining room and kitchen a lovely marigold color. :D I'm hoping tomorrow to get the second coat done on the living room and dining room and I'll be finished!

Janis that's such wonderful news that you are back to running again!

Happy Sunday :)

Realized I had not posted in a few days. Friday was my rest day, yesterday I did the step/hi-lo circuit premix from step, jump and pump. I have never done the hi-lo from that workout, it was quite hilarious to say the least, I just cant take myself seriously when I am doing those moves, does not make me feel like an athlete at all. At least I did it and tried something new. ;) Went for a walk this morning at the beach since it was 54 degrees outside. Which sounds a little crazy I know, but when you live in 90+ degree weather for months and months on end, one cool day is a major reason to get out and breathe some fresh air. I have disc 15 back and bi's to tackle tonight.

Looks like everyone is doing well. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Talk to you later.

Hey Everyone

Okay this is very strange... I did the Step Blast premix that was step and hi/lo too today. I have never done any of the workouts on there before and it seemed fun but I know what you mean about the hi/lo. I was just really glad that no one from my family peeked in on me and that my husband was not home to hear me doing what really sounded like an elephant dance. I did feel good though. I am looking forward to doing both the workouts on their own.

Today we did alot of yard clean- up too so I am beat. Tomorrow I am back to STS Meso 2. Looking forward to it!

Talk to you then
Heather
