Let's Do This Again STSept-Dec! *Nov 23-Nov 29*

Good Morning Warriors!

This morning I did 4DS Kickbox cardio and abs, then stretched alot. Tonight I will tackle the first squat rack legs of M3. May find some time to fit in some tennis practice as well since my days with no work are dwindling away. For now anyway I am going to go relax on the sofa and watch others play tennis. lol ;)

What is everyone up to for their Saturday?

Good Evening Everyone

This will have to be short as I have hungry kids and it's 6:30 here. I just finished Butts and Guts (we had a surprise hockey game this morning!) and I went up to 7lb weights and I can really feel it! In a good way.

I plan to run tomorrow and push my rest day to Tuesday.

I actually use the Workout manager religiously! I love being able to look back over the month and wow I did all that! It keeps me accountable if I have a plan to follow. I love that I can put in calories burned etc. I only wish that we could see how many we have burned for the week but that would be complicated.

Anyways, I had better go and get the kids dinner and get back to life!
Talk to you soon

This morning I did KPC. My calf is always worse after I shop on Saturday, so I wanted to avoid step. I'm going to try and do some stretching this afternoon. Really, truly.....

Heather what level of hockey? I have a nephew in FL that plays. He's a goalie. My boys both play club baseball and the older one is playing basketball right now. First game next week. Definitely keeps us busy.

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone has continued to have a good weekend! I ended up resting Friday unintentionally & yesterday my daughter & I went on a bus tour/shopping trip. The European Christmas markets have started up. We did a lot of walking, but otherwise no workout for me. Today, I did Disc 14 + HIS cardio. I see that I wasn't the only one struggling with biceps this week! They were really hard for me. I managed to get through the barbell curls, but on the alternating dumbell curls & preacher curls, I had to either lower the weights or the reps. It was a good warmth/burn though!

I do use the workout manager to log my workouts & I like it. I haven't ever downloaded a rotation on it, but just add in my daily workouts. I think they have improved it in a lot of ways particularly with the 1RM/STS workouts. I love how you can modify your 1RM with each workout if you need to. I use facebook & plan to put my workouts on it soon, but haven't got around to it just yet.

I wanted to chime in that I appreciate the opportunity to check-in with all of you! I don't know your stories (I'd love to read yours MJ, if you can tell me how far back to look at your posts), but it's inspiring & motiviating to know that there are 4 people out there who are looking for me to post if I exercised or not. It has kept me on track. I have a busy job & am a single mom, so time is precious. There are some days when I don't feel motivated to work out at all, but knowing that you all are out there is what gets me to workout on those days. I agree, friends & family don't always understand why fitness needs to be a priority for me. I love the challenge, the satisfaction I feel after I completed a difficult routine, and especially want to set myself up to be healthy physically.

I'm less than 1 year away from turning 40, and I'm determined to start that decade at a healthy weight & being more fit than I ever have been. You guys are helping me reach that goal!

MJ--I hope you quickly return to feeling back to normal. While I'm far from eating clean, I can feel it on the days when I really make bad food choices. I have to drink a lot of water & limit sugar and meats like pork & beef to avoid feeling blah!

Heather--Glad shopping was productive on Friday. When I re-read Cathe's post about starting a Jan Shock cardio/STS rotation, I couldn't tell for certain if she would be working out with the group vs. just creating the rotation. Either way, I'm looking forward to the STS/Shock Cardio rotation & would love to start it up with you all.

Janis--you will have to fill me in on Insanity--all this chatter about it has me curious!

Cathy--I love naps when I have time to take them. I hate shopping in huge crowds so I usually never go shopping on Black Friday. The Christmas markets are more food/wine & little things like scarves, figurines, christmas ornaments, etc. It was less stressful!

See you all tomorrow!
Tara

Hey Everyone

I can't believe that it is Sunday already! This morning I ran on the treadmill and did CC5. It has alot of sprints in it and I can tell that CC is helping me because I did not die... much! My headphones did it again right at the end again. I have already sent one pair back but I think that I will have to do it again! Bummer!
Anyways, glad I was not the only one shopping! Tomorrow I am onto Disc 28 and I am really looking forward to it! I am going to do a cardio quick fix after or a bodyrock 20 min cardio workout after too... this is my plan anyways!

Tara - I had no idea how helpful it would be to be part of a check in! Glad I'm helping you too!

Cathy - My oldest is in novice, poor guy got his first penalty last game (an accident of course) but he was in tears and ended up having an asthma attack! So that was a little too much excitement! Hockey definitely keeps us busy! Right now only one plays but I am scared for the day when they are both playing!

MJ - How was Squat rack legs?

Janis - Hope you are doing well!

talk to you soon

Hi Warriors

I had planned to do squat rack legs on Saturday but was still sore from plyo, so I just did a brief 20 minutes run to get the soreness out, I am going to do the legs disc today. I just re-read Cathe’s comments about STS and shock cardio, and you’re right Tara, it sounds like she will create the rotation, not do the rotation! Wow – how easily I mis-read that, triple proof I need to work on reading comprehension! Lol!

If she isn’t going to do it with the group then I am back to considering a undulating rotation. This time through I would really like to be doing the same workouts at the same time as everyone else.

MJ- I am super private too and have rejected facebook, and I, too, am surprised I post on a public forum! When I signed up I couldn’t think of a clever user name or find an appropriate avatar, I am much more public than I am comfortable with! I, too, don’t say much to anyone about my fitness journey outside of my family and my friends here at Cathenation, keeping it to myself has actually helped me stay consistent and on task because I am doing it for me and no one else.

Heather – I completely understand your frustration with your earbuds/headphone and ipod failing at a key moment in your run, so frustrating, so anticlimactic. Way to go with your holiday shopping, I haven’t even started lists yet. And I haven’t received Insanity yet!

Cathy – I was using the workout manager, but I messed up the STS rotation and had a double application of STS to the calendar for the last three months! By January it will be off the calendar and I can use it more effectively I am thinking about getting KPC as a download, I am wondering how vigourous it is…? Can you tell I am increasing my Warrior arsenal?!

Tara - 39 and counting! Getting in great shape for your 40’s is an excellent goal. 40 wasn’t so bad, and actually it seems like every year after 40 gets better and better. The European markets shopping tour sounds great!

I want to echo everyone’s sentiments about our check-in. I haven’t been able to post everyday but I am so happy to have our little group to talk to about life, food, fitness and our progress. I feel like a strong, happy, feminine, balanced and fit warrior in training. We’re warriors and we’re goddesses and we’re proud.

:D

Hey Warriors!

Got out and played tennis today (yesterday too) and will attempt disc 27 tonight so I can finish the first week of meso 3. I postponed doing this one because I needed my arms for tennis. lol Will probably do some cardio tonight too, but we will see how I am feeling by then.

Heather - Bummer about your earphones, good job on the running though. Squat rack legs was different. First time I have really used my squat rack for lower body, so getting used to the larger barbell and the weight on my shoulders was interesting. The workout is deceptively simple, but very tough. Despite the long rest periods it went really fast. My only issue is on the front squats, trying to get used to holding that bar up on my shoulders/arms in front is tough, I have tender spots on the front of my shoulders from it eventhough I used a towel to help cushion a little.

Tara - Looks like you had a fun weekend, good luck with disc 14 today. As for my story, I dont think I have ever really written too much about it, just bits and pieces here and there in the thread. Perhaps I will write it up one day to post, perhaps for my birthday recap in January, since it will be one year then since I set my goal for myself.

Cathy - Nice job on KPC! Did you get yourself anything good while shopping?

Janis - Good luck with squat rack legs tonight. Let me know how it goes for you. I was thinking of trying the undulating rotation too. We will have to see what we want to put together as it gets closer.

Going to go rest my sore body a little before tackling evening workouts. The only part of me not sore at the moment is my arms, so might as well torture them too with tonights workout. I dont need to be able to move tomorrow for work right? lol :p

Hey Everyone

Just wanted to say that I am up for an undulating rotation as well. There are two sisters that are doing it right now and I like the looks of their rotation better than the one by Chris.

As for Facebook I never use it and I wouldn't share that kind of info with most of the people on my facebook account!

I'll look up the rotation that I was talking about so you can all check it out.

Janis you can erase rotations if you have one that is not what you want in your calendar. In the rotation section you just have to follow the delete rotations buttons.

Just had to chime in there
Bye!
Heather
