Les Mills Combat versus Insanity in terms of calories burnt?

Hi Everyone,

I am very keen to try Les mills combat as I have just realised how boxing, kickboxing, MMA are fun to do. IMHO insanity is just too expensive for what it offers. Plus I just do not want to embrace such high impact for 60 days even though I do not have any joint issue.

Now my question: How is les mills combat effective in terms of calories burnt compared to insanity or any other Hiit program currently on the market?

To any uk based forum member owning this program could you please let me know where to get it from?

Hope to hear from your feedback soon,

Thanks,

I'm really enjoying this set. I don't have a HR monitor so can't give info on calories burned. I would guess it wouldn't burn as many calories as Insanity (which I also have). I add on weighted gloves and try and use power and when they are pulsing I just continue punching or kicking etc.

Not in the UK but www.totalfitnessdvds.net appears to ship there for about $25 US. Beachbody charges $15 to ship in the US so $25 in the UK seems like a good deal. I've bought from there quite a few times, all positive experiences.

Hi Nathalie,
I did not have a HRM when I did Insanity, so I cannot say how many calories that burned. I do have one now, and I also have LM Combat. Like Zenara25, I give the workouts a little extra oomph and add some higher impact moves when they are doing low impact, and I can burn about 500 calories doing the 60 minute workout (which is more like 50-55 minutes) in that set. This is the most intense in the set. That's a wee bit less than I'd burn doing Afterburn or Intensity or something like that for the same amount of time, but I actually find Combat to be more fun than most of my other workouts these days. The music is good, the instructors are good at cuing and motivating. I like this set more than I thought I would when I bought it. I also use 1 lb. weighted gloves too.

insanity versus Les mills combats

Thanks ladies for answering to my question, I appreciate your comment

I have read few positive feedback on Les mills combat.

To Eva,

Thanks for pointing out cuing and motivating. This is definitely a selling point. I think I am sold!:D:D:D

I did both hardstrick and kickbox-4DS premix on top of split upper body within a week and I had serious DOMS in my arms. Now I feel I need to do this frequently to really attack and challenge my arms, gain more muscular definitions:D:D

Hope you are all working out strong and safe,

Kind Regards,
