Legs N Glutes & Gym Style Legs Comparison

Can you tell me the difference between Legs n Glutes (which workout I really like, as it uses ankle weights some of the time and has many exercises other than leg presses and lunges). I was wondering how Gym Style Legs compares to this, as I have the VHS version of Legs N Glutes and want to get a DVD leg workout. Thanks so much for any advice.

GSL has alot of standing and band. I haven't done it in a while, but I don't remember doing any floorwork. I might be wrong though. Sorry shouldn't have even posted. Didn't help at all.

GS Legs has an excellent floor routine -- Cathe's best, IMO. The whole workout is outstanding. I like it better than Legs & Glutes and find it to be more challenging.

I find Legs N Glutes to be a little more cardio -- less rest time between sets than Gym Style Legs. I love both of the workouts and alter between the 2. I highly recommend getting the Gym Style Legs for your DVD workout (beings you all ready have Legs and Glutes VHS).

Hi Normandy:

I have tried both workouts - I did not like GS Legs because it uses a Stability Ball - and I am not interested in any Ball exercises; my issue with Legs& Glutes is that the background music overshadows Cathe's cueing to the point that it is too distracting. I am looking for a GOOD Leg workout - and I have watched the clips on Cathe's "Strong Legs & Abs" - and it seems to be pretty good (no stability ball, uses ankle weights). Unfortunately, it is in VHS format unless you want to buy one of her bundles for $50. The other workout that appears to be pretty good is her "Power Hour" for legs. The same format issue here as previously mentioned. But I have to listen to both clips again to make sure that her music is not the focus of these workouts.

Not sure why Cathe doesn't clear out her VHS inventory and convert everything to DVD format. So many places are offering VHS tapes for $10.00 just to get rid of them.

You've been given some good things to think about already. I like having the variety of the leg workouts that Cathe puts out. Elln has highlighted some things that I like: the use of the stability ball is a nice addition and the music in the Body Blast Series (& Intensity Series) is the best. I hope the music in the next series is the same quality as the Body Blast & Intensity Series'. I also like switching between standing leg work and floor leg work, especially if my legs have been getting worked out in other ways.

Good luck with your decision,
jordan

Thanks so very, very much to all of you for your explanations and advice. I have a knee problem, and what I like about Legs & Glutes is the fact there are standing quad and hip and other exercises with leg weights, and I can eliminate the lunges. I tried exchanging my Supersets and Stretching tapes for GS series, but it didn't work, so guess I'll try YaYa for the GS Legs and upper body. Again, you guys are great and I really appreciate all of your replies!
