leg workout without CTX??

Firm Standing Legs is a good one, as is Cathe's PS legs.

I can also give you this workout that was passed along to me which I rotate with my tape workouts:

There are two circuits....do the exercises in circuit one three times, and go on to circuit two and do those three times:

1. Sliding wall squats with a balance ball 30 reps
2. leg extensions 20 reps
3. step ups 20 rep with each leg

Second circuit:
1. Leg curls 20 reps
2. inner thigh cable pulls (one leg at a time)20 each leg
3. donkey kicks (with or without ankle weights)20 each leg
4. calve raises

If you don't have a leg extension attachment on a weight bench, use an Xering or Ultratoner from Spri products to simulate leg extensions and leg curls.

I do this for two weeks and switch to something else. One other day per week I do Cathe's Circuit Max or Power Circuit for a second leg workout.

I work my legs often, 3-4 times a week, but use short workouts. I like to just use the lower body portion from MIS, Power Hour and CIA 2102 Powerbar Training. The Firm's Lower Body Split is excellent, but long - it has both floor and standing work. I also like Gilad's Quick Fit Hips, Buns and Thighs - he doesn't use weights for most of the workout, but I use my barbell and that makes it quite challenging.
When you're ready to spend the money, though, CTX is a great series - Leaner Legs is my favorite (well, toughest) leg workout and the other strength workout is very, very good as well.

Leaner Legs is great and I got mine off the Firm Swap for about $15. You have be patient, but usually someone is willing to sell it. Actually, you can get PS Legs and Abs or S&H Legs and Shoulders off the swap too. Just gotta be persistant.

Also, Weights First from FitPrime is a Leg/Glute KILLER!! No way I could do all the moves and I was sore for 4 days.

HTH. Robin.

Someone on crack. Just kidding. Someone who bought the videos and then switched to DVD, maybe? I personally couldn't part with my LL, even though I do swear at it occassionally!

Hard to imagine, isn't it? Someone who does not want to work hard, obviously. I can hear it now, "I don't want to get bulky!" To me that's like nails on a blackboard.

Question for Honeybunch

Hi HB --

That pesky inner thigh jiggle is my current project and I always like to hear what you have to say about leg work, since it's one of your specialties. :)

I don't belong to a gym -- what's your favorite at-home substitute for the inner thigh cable pulls? And what's the difference between an Xering and an Ultratoner? Do you like one better than the other?

Hey, GREAT luck to you in your certification training too -- I so admire you for taking on that challenge!

Well, when I said "be persistant", that means BEG!!!! I never ask why, I just grab the tape and run before they change their mind. LOL. Also, I've noticed alot of times that folks will sell the CTX series (maybe to high impact for them?), but keep Leaner Legs.

To each his own! Robin.

Oddly enough I like this LL workout. I hate it but I like it. It's just that weird feeling when you're not quite sure if you're dead yet and you're drenched and your gams are trembling. This thing is a work of pure EVUL. Oh but the butt looks good right after! Or is that just the light....
