Leg days count as cardio?

Just wondering if anyone else does this. When I work legs, my heart rate gets pretty high and I work up a good sweat, so I tend to count this as a cardio day too.

Thoughts on this? I try to get in 3 other days of 30 minutes cardio (I follow with heavy weights), and then count legs as a 4th cardio day too.

It should count; I have to pause the DVD all the time doing legs because my heart rate gets so high; I find it hard to breathe sometimes; yikes
Legs kill me.

And there are some cardio workouts that I consider a leg workout too - especially Low Impact Step. That one fries my legs!

For me a weight workout is a weight workout and cardio is cardio.

But working legs sure feels like cardio so I often have to walk around the room between moves. In the past I was always hitting my PAUSE button but I do that a lot less since I've dropped most of the weight and gotten in better shape. It probably doesn't hurt that I'm still on STS M1 and am, thus, not doing endless reps of each move. Still, nothing kills like slo-mo lunges with low-end pulsing. On STS, I was even having trouble with those in the warm-ups. How much less my heart is taxed doing those during the warm-ups now has become a kind of fitness barometer for me.

Heck yeah, if your heart rate gets to 60,70 percent of max, either sustained or in intervals, sure it counts!

This is totally my opinion based on what I have read, but I wouldn't count leg days as cardio because though your heart rate is up, you are working anaerobically as opposed to aerobically. :)
