It's a 40% carb/40% protein/20% fat diet. It has some flexability to it but I found that I lost the most weight when I followed this percentage closely. Now that I'm in maintenance, I find my percentage falls more into the 45/33/22 range most of the time. It's just the way I eat, I like lots of veggies and fruits. ;-)
He stresses the less processed the better and to eat whole foods rather than shakes all the time. It's not to say you can't have two of your meals be shakes, it's just not recommended to have 4 out of 6 (or more). Same with protein bars... He likes us to eat LOTS of veggies and a cup of fresh fruit everyday. HTH.
