Has anyone here had it done? Are you happy with the results?

I go tomorrow for a consultation and I am excited. I have worn glasses/contacts since 4th grade. Can you exercise soon after or do you have to wait for a few weeks?

I got mine done a few years ago and very very very happy with the result. A friend who got it done had to get it redone twice though because it wasn't perfect. I think he saw double.

I had Lasik surgery 3 weeks ago and I'm VERY happy with the results. I was seeing 20/20 the day after surgery at my post-op appointment which I drove myself to. I was just amazed at how well I could see the day after surgery.

As far as being able to exercise, my doctor told me as long as I didn't get any sweat in my eyes for about the first week I was good to go. You just don't want to get any sweat in your eyes because it could cause an infection.

I got Lasik about 7 years ago and love it.....it went perfectly and loved that I could see the road signs on the way home.

As far as working out, I found that I needed to wear a headband to keep the sweat out of my eyes.

Lasik is the best!!!

Hi, I just had it done last month and I am very happy with it, 20/20 vision. They told me no heavy lifting for a week so I just relaxed for a week.

I had it done 5 years ago. I now have 20/15 vision. The procedure itself was kind of weird, but there was absolutely no pain or anything. I got up and went to work the next day. It was amazing! I'm still amazed at how good my eye sight is now.

And, same here for exercise. My eye doctor said as long as I didn't get sweat in my eyes, I was fine. Good luck!

I want to have lasik surgery, but I'm worried about the cost. If you don't mind, would you tell me how much it cost and if your insurance paid for it? Thanks!

My husband had it a week and a half ago. Cost around 3500 insurance paid 15%.. At first insurance wasn't going to pay anything. But our doctor told the insurance company that my husband need the surgery. They don't make contacts that even come close to helping my husband see normal and he is only 26. His surgery was a little more complicated. Instead of just pilling back the top layer of eye they had to do a dermabrasion. I'm not medical savy so that is all I really know. His sight is still fuzy said it could take 3 months. But the day after the surgery he could read the cart in the the office he could never do that with contacts.

I had it about 10 months ago. LOVE IT!!! My sight is not 20/15 and in hi-def... :) Mine was about 2500 and insurance didnt cover any part.

No insurance coverage here either. It will cost me $3050 but I have $1500 in my flex plan at work and they have a finance program for 0% for 18 months for the other $1550. It depends on your prescription. It is cheaper if your eyes aren't as bad. My eyes are -5.00 and
-4.75. Everyone I talked to loves it and says it is worth it. They mentioned the Hi Def vision too. I can't wait to go in on 3/6!!!

Cost around here for the good, top notch doctors (why would I have anybody but the best mess with my eyes?) is around $4500. That's a lot of money to save up, but I'm so tempted to get it done.

I'm getting this done at the end of April and I was speaking to a co-worker who had it done about 4 years ago. She said she had her husband wash her hair for about 2 weeks afterwards in order to keep the water out of her eyes. Did anyone have to do this or is having a shower okay as long as you don't get soap/shampoo on your face. How do you wash your face?

I've been talking to a number of people in my office about this this week!! Just can't take the contacts anymore. No one seems to regret it! The one guy that told me the cost said it was $5200!! We are in NYC so maybe they over charge on that, too! I'm going for it in 2009 so I can use my flexplan to cover all/most of the procedure.
