Large pores

I was going to say any 2% salicylic acid product. They say that even those cheap drug store cleansing pads are ok, but I would get the cleanest formula I could find. All you want id the 2% SA, not all the rest of the junk in the ingredients list. This is the one I use: http://www.dianayvonne.com/product/SB86_1 It has a clean formulation and it's pretty inexpensive. The page has some info on salicylic acid.

In order to get rid of large pores, you will need to exfoliate consistently. If you have large pores, they will never go away completely, but weekly exfoliation helps a lot. I actually prefer doing several methods of exfoliation several times a week. I use a scrub a couple time a week, as well as a peel once or twice a week. I also sometimes use a mask right after a scrub to soak up oil while your pores are open.

Here is a scrub I use:

It is very gentle and can be used several times a week with no irritation.

The peel I use is from the spa I go to and I forget the brand. Guinot has a peel as well, and though I haven't tried it, I love everything I have tried from this line.

I love their mask too

You might want to also try Olay's new Peel/Microderm combo product. I have been meaning to try it. It uses both a peel and a scrub, so both forms of exfoliation in one!

Hope this helps!

I have been really happy with the results I get from a drugstore microdermabrasion kit. I bought the one from L'Oreal and was surprised at how much it helped.

AHA's are the gycolic, lactic, fruit, and mandellic acids. They are the acids used in peels because they loosen the surface skin. The only BHA I know of is salicylic acid. It works differently than the AHA's, and shouldn't cause any peeling. It is oil soluable and gets deeper in the pores. That's why it's best for reducing pore size. Nothing will actually reduce pore size, but keeping them from accumulating gunk will keep them at their smallest.

Hi pwmatt

I currently work at a department store cosmetics department, and have a passion for skin and beauty. To be honest with you, there is nothing that will 'shrink' large pores. They are the size due to genetics, etc. BUT, you can diffuse the appearance of large pores. There are a few products I would recommend, they are: Cliniqe Pore Minimizer, Estee Lauder Micro D Thermal refinisher, and Estee Lauder Idealist. Scrubs will help clean out the dirt and dead skin that clog pores and make them appear 'larger'. By doing a scrub 2-3 times a week, this will help them appear smaller.
