L(M)eaner Legs

Ummmmmmm... does this count as cardio?????

Holy OUCH, Batman!!! My legs are whimpering, which is better than sobbing, which is what they were doing during the plie squats.

I'm going to waddle to the shower now:p

I lent mine to a friend while I am gone and told her that it was a killer!!! This will be the first time she's done Cathe. She used to be/teach dancing, so it will be interesting to see what she thinks!

I did this one without weights two weeks ago and still felt significant DOMS the next day...and the day after that!

My daughter and I did "Meaner Legs" yesterday. I woke up every time I tried to turn in bed last night. Deep inside my buns are on fire. I love it. I used fairly light weights (lighter than I usually use). What a workout!!!

My heart rate is flying during Leaner Legs (along with the curse words coming out of my mouth ;-) ). I think this workout is the toughest of all of Cathe's for me-including IMAX 3. I can tolerate IMAX 3, I enjoy it but Lord have mercy, I have a time of it with Leaner Legs. I want to have leaner legs so I force myself to get through it but no one better come near me while I'm doing it because I itsn't pretty!

I just finished a CTX rotation, and I was wondering what all the hoopla was about Leaner Legs. It is a well-done workout, and I like it (and plan to continue to use it for a while beyond my rotation), but it's not the 'killer' workout I expected from all the talk on the forum. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy, but I didn't find it any tougher than GSL, for example. I did put longer breaks in, but I do that with most of my workouts (especially before and after deadlifts, to allow the lower back to recover). On the other hand, I use heavier weights than Cathe does.

Does everybody find this to be Cathe's toughest lower body workout? And what do you find tough about it?

I think her PLB is tougher that Leaner Legs. Leaner Legs will do just that, but I concur with you Kathryn, it is not any tougher than GSL and I love that workout.

It's the number of squats with the "rest", if you you even want to call it that, then the low ends that gets me. That is the grueling part for me. The rest of it is pretty smooth sailing except for the low ends with the static lunges. Low ends are a bear to me. I guess it's just different for different people. PLB is my favorite because it has no low ends!! I also love GSL. I think they are all great lower body workouts including Leaner Legs, it's just more difficult for me. Kathryn, you make it sound like you could do Leaner Legs with a car on your shoulders. I salute you!

Shelley:
I did a premix on KPC this morning with legs and glutes. It was called something like Kickbox drills and circuit legs? All I know is every time it switched to L&G's she did more d@*n leg presses!!!
I have grumbled at Cathe before but this morning for a mere second, I believe I hated her!
I think my legs will be complaining tomorrow.

Congratulations on making it through a tuff workout Shelley! I sympathize.

LOL! I didn't mean to make it sound like it's a piece of cake for me: it is tough, but not 'the toughest Cathe lower body workout,' for me.

Personally, Kathryn, I don't know why this one gets me the way it does. I agree, Gym Styles is more of a workout. BUT..... I sweat buckets doing Leaner Legs and my butt talks to me for days after.
