Hi all
Way back at the end of Dec.01, there was a thread about Lower Body Solution (1st time I ever heard of it!), and I took in all the advice (pro/con) and I decided to try it for myself.
A few of you asked me to update later as to results, so since I got my first "whistle" yesterday, I thought today would be a good time to update!
I began on Jan 1st, so this is my 10th week using L.B.S. I work my lower body 5x/week, 3x/week w/weights and 2x/week of non-weighted floorwork. The first change was an increase in lower body strength, but I began to see visible changes about the 5th week. I really hadn't thought too much about the outer changes (pants fitting better in the legs/thighs) until yesterday when I put on a pair of pantyhose and a skirt, the skirt just stopped at my knee cap, so for the first time I noticed my legs and my first thought was, "d--n! my legs look good as s--t!" And then later that morning, a male friend of ours whistled at me and my ego was off the charts!
So~at least for me, L.B.S. seems to be working. My legs really have firmed up, I am still battling "mushiness" at the top of my inner thighs, but like my upper arm area, apparently those areas are going to be the last places to release stored fat. So I'm just going to have to be patient and keep losing.
But for Katie and a few others who were wondering if it was worth it, it has been for me. It is inconvenient every now and then depending on the rotation I'm doing, but I find if I just do effective lower body workouts then I don't have to add much time on. My floor leg workouts are anywhere from 15min-30min.
So they aren't too time consuming.
At some point I'll do a maintanence thing and probably work my legs only 4x/week, 2x w/ weights and 2x without, but I believe it is either a 16 or 18 week program so I have another 6-8 weeks before that happens.
But hey, I haven't been whistled at since I was in my 20's, so at 38, my head still can't fit through the front door it's so big right now!
