Knee problems, This might help

I'm only 23, and so when my knees started to really hurt (thank you high impact intensity in Hardcore }( ) I first tried new shoes, then inserts, then moist heat, then, of course, my mom. She's had trouble with her knees for years and her advice was to apply straight up peanut oil several times a day, and then moist heat if you can. She said if nothing else, my knees would stay soft this winter. So I tried it, and it worked like a charm. My knees might be sore after a particularly tough workout (i.e. I just started running with my husband, in addition to Cathe's Fat Loss Rotatation) but by the next day or a few hours later they feel so much better. I just had to share this advice. It's cheap, easy, and my knees are SO soft!
Best,

Hmmm...maybe will have to try it. I usually use glucosamine cream to my knees before I go to bed at night. I have always have clickity clackity knees and they don't respond well to when I lift heavy for lower body. LOL

For the moist heat I use a "Microwave Buddy" bean bag heated in the microwave for about 3 minutes and apply, then insert a damp towel between my knees and the bag with a light towel or blanket to cover. Nothing too heavy or you might burn yourself, also 3 minutes can be way too hot depending on your microwave and bean bag. This process makes you sweat and the wetness from the towel creates sufficient moisture. Feels wonderful! There are also wet heat heating pads you can buy, but then you have to sit near and outlet and that's not always convenient.
I also you the same process on aching feet if that's a problem and it works wonders there as well.
Hope this helps,
Mattea

I have bad knees and what I have found to work for me is this concoction, I take Ibuprophin three times a day (doctors orders for other illness) and then I take glucosamine and then I just added CLA and I love the results, I can now walk up and down the stairs with NO pain and just the other day I did Step Blast and loved every minute of it and had NO pain during the workout!! I had some mild discomfort after but not like it used to be. Now don't be surprised CLA is for fat reducing and lean muscle building, but it also works as reducing inflamation in joints and helps with the cartilage, I read that in a fitness magazine.

It stands for Conjugated Linoleic Acid. A good kind of fat that's is claimed to help you burn fat. I don't know how true that is.

I just discovered HA or Hyaluronic Acid. It's pretty pricey though. But taken with glucosamine, my knees are better than ever. They don't complain so much and so soon, and they recover faster. I wasn't so sure if they'd work, but decided to try it. I've been on it for about a month. Puzzle mats in my workout space have also helped. So has immediately switching to low impact moves while doing cardio once I think my knees don't like the high impact anymore.
