Knee Issue

I recently got a tight swollen sore knee..must of over did a workout:( Anyone have any suggestions on how to do cardio or a type of leg workout? Or should I just lay off of using my legs and just do upper body?

A swollen, tight knee? Please stay away from cardio and lower body workouts until swelling and pain are gone. Focus on core, upper body, maybe barre, pilates, yoga. Introduce cardio again slowly with low impact. If the knee swells again, you need tog o see a sports doctor to get diagnosed and seek physical therapy.

I work in an orthopedic office, swollen knees are usually an indicator that something is going on in there. It could be a meniscal tear, a baker's cyst, arthritis. I would rest it, elevate and ice. If it doesn't get better seek an orthopedic for x-rays and or MRI. I would focus on upper body until it is feeling better, no high impact.
 
Thank you guys! I took about 4 days off of working out completely iced my leg etc..doesnt feel swollen as much but I just did upper body and abs..maybe a Barre workout tomrw ..and one of cathes low impact workouts that don't require a step later in the week..if It feels good. Then probably get an xray if it's not better:( i hate these road blocks interfering with me staying in shape!
