KK's September Rotation

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!:D

Okay, a little late getting the September rotation up and running -- will take it a week at a time.

Jeanette -- I need to check out this site -- I love how you're losing that weight.

Okay so for next week:

Monday: IMAX -- the original -- I won't have this one tour -- so I'll do it before I go

Tuesday: Power Hour -- same with this one -- I have this only in VHS form

Wednesday: Cardio from Body Max and Stretch from Stretch Max

Thursday: This is the start of the tour -- still I plan to be up each morning before we head out for the day and exercise -- I think I'll do Circuit Max -- again cause I only have this in VHS form

Friday: Will be in Phoenix this day -- will plan to do sprints if it's cool enough -- if not, I'll do IMAX2 inside -- without a step, I suppose.

Saturday: HSC -- the 51 minute version

Sunday: Off

Have decided to donate $ to try to help with the disaster, since I can't go there and try to help if possible -- it's hard to imagine this much damage...just hard to imagine.

I'll have my computer with me so will try to stay in touch, though there might be days that I miss -- we are getting in to some towns fairly late and I might only have time to get in the room and fall into bed...

Well, here we go -- the tour...

Have a terrific holiday, everybody.:7

Good afternoon Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Had a wonderful time camping this weekend. Left Friday afternoon, rushing to get a space in the campground before anyone else did. Turns out, no one else camped there all weekend, we had it all to ourselves! This was nice as we let the dogs run loose and they had a great time. Had to fight the yellow jackets (meat bees) for our food. They were always a presence when food was around, but they didn't bother us at all. We also cut a full load of firewood on Saturday morning so it was a productive trip too. We pulled the horse trailer behind us and had the 4-wheeler, mtn. bikes and all the camping stuff in the trailer. Boy, we sure take a lot of stuff camping, but really, I used all of it. For Christmas this last year, I had received a gift certificate at Sportman's Warehouse and purchased a camp kitchen setup thingie. Got to use it for the first time this year, it's great. I now have a place to put a camp stove, spices, utensils, etc. Well worth the $. We also had 2 nice nights of campfires and they sure felt good as you can now feel fall is around the corner. We went for a nice 4-wheeler ride yesterday and then today was a slow bike ride (dogs went with us on both outings). All in all, a great trip and I really need to jump in the shower.

As far as a rotation this month, I think I will do Cathe's September rotation, modified cuz I don't have all the DVD's and will work around my century ride in Yreka next Saturday and going on vacation on the 16th of September for a week. During our vacation, will probably walk, ride bikes, run on the beach, that kind of thing.

Anyway, here's my modification for the first week of the September rotation:

Monday: Bike Ride a.m. CTX Step & Intervals, Coremax #1
Tuesday: Leaner Legs
Wednesday: Bootcamp
Thursday: All Step/Power Circuit Step Only
Friday: Pyramid Upper Body (include abs)
Saturday: Century Bike Ride
Sunday: Off

Doesn't really resemble Cathe's does it?

Will get back on the zig zagging of calories and logging on Fitday, starting tomorrow. Tried to be good while camping, couldn't keep my hands off of the tortilla chips.

Good workouts to all and have a nice Labor Day!

Jeanette :7

Hi Karen, Rhea, and Jeanette,

Back from our vacation so haven't done any formal workouts except one day of the cruise portion of our vacation in which I went to the fitness center.

I printed off the September workout and am probably going to approximate it as well as I do not have the new workouts. We should think of some substitutes.

Natalie

Good afternoon Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

So good to hear from you Natalie. It'll be fun to do the September rotation. I have to substitute also. In fact today was supposed to be a bike ride (shortish), CTX Step & Intervals/Power Circuit (step only) and Coremax. Well, the bike ride turned into a 100 miler so no step workout. No sense in going overboard. Think I burned plenty of calories on the century. After eating here in a few, I'll do the Coremax workout. I also need to mow the lawns (riding lawn mower, otherwise I'd surely talk myself out of it).

Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Natalie and Rhea:

It was Leaner Legs this morning (including the abs part). I could feel a bit of soreness in the ab area from Coremax the day before. Boy, I can tell I haven't been giving as much attention to the abs lately. Anyway, Leaner Legs was a workout due to my century ride yesterday.

Think tomorrow is Bootcamp for me. I will take it easier on the legs as I get further in the week due to another century ride on Saturday, this time in Yreka, CA.

Back to clean eating for today and restricted calories for a few days. I like using Fitday and seeing what my calories are composed of (fat, carbs, protein).

Karen, hope you are doing okay. Know you're extremely busy. I can't even imagine how you'd have time to workout and check in with us, but sure hoping you can.

Rhea, know you're liking this cooler weather. My DH and I went camping over the weekend at the Goumaz campground. We were the only ones there all weekend. We tent camped and it was chilly at night. Also got a load of firewood while we were there. Drove by your house yesterday and saw the firewood rounds you have. Glad we have a wood splitter. For years, we split by hand. What slackers DH and I are now!!

Have a great day, everyone. Back to the grind after 4 days off.

Jeanette

Good morning!

So glad to see you back Natalie. Hope you can check in with us more.

Karen - you must be traveling. Drive safe!

Jeanette...loving the cooler weather. DH was a little firewood squirrel again this year. I don't know what it is, but we have to have like 20 cord before he will stop. I think he still wants to try and get some more, but just doesn't have the time. Oh darn. We share a splitter with his dad and brother. Thank goodness. My back just aches with thinking of splitting all that by hand. You sure are the go getter with those workouts and rides. I've still been fighting the exhaustion and no motivation for the workouts. I'm sure the main culprit is lack of water and too much caffeine and some bad eating. So back on track today. Hopefully, I stay on track!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Natalie & Rhea,

Haven't left yet, but used the holiday weekend to try to prepare and get ready -- it's amazing to me how many things have to be done before I can take off anywhere -- I've just been going and going and going and am still going -- need to pay bills before I go to bed tonight as tomorrow could be quite a day -- Lois flys in late -- 11:10 PM -- and I must be packed and ready to go for the next day.

Anyway...

Natalie -- okay, so how are you doing? I must say that it's really good to hear from you. Stay in touch with us, okay?

Jeanette -- your camping trip sounds so fun -- you were the only ones there -- what a break -- and a wood splitter -- sounds like something I'd want, all right.

Rhea -- HI! Hope you're doing well, too.

Well, I've been so busy it's been hard to fit in workouts, but I have been doing it -- did IMAX1 on Monday and Power Hour today. Really looked at Cathe's September rotation, as well, as it looks like a good one -- I may try and do this one when I get back from tour -- oh, got my DVD player on my computer up and running -- yea! Won't have the main step -- I'll take my fanny lifter -- but at least I'll be able to do some of the workouts.

Well, I'll be in touch as often as I can -- probably will be late -- after we've rolled into a hotel for the night.

Have a great one.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Karen, glad you could check in. Wow, you are one busy, busy lady! Know you'll be able to get most everything done before you leave. Glad you can still fit in the workouts and I'm so pleased that the DVD travel thing will work for you too. I will use my vacation as a rest from Cathe workouts, but will still be pretty active with walking, running, biking, etc.

Rhea, my DH is like that too about wood (my dad calls him a woodrat). Actually, that's all we heat with (have electric baseboard heaters in the house, but have never turned them on) during the winter. Would like to some day get an oil stove for when we have to leave the house during the winter. The price of oil doesn't look like it will be too good this winter either. I feel like we are so at the mercy of these big oil companies. It's nice that we can get out in the woods still to gather, but how much longer will that be?

Today was Bootcamp. Think this workout is getting easier for me. I remember when it held the "dread" factor. Actually, my cycling partner complimented me on Sunday (during our 100 mile bike ride) in regard to my energy on the hills, and my ability to climb out of the saddle for longer periods of time. Climbing out of the saddle requires more cardio ability (and core strength), know it's the Cathe workouts and the running too. Don't think it's the cycling as I'm only riding a couple times a week. Anyway, it was a compliment and know I'm on the right track.

Well, good workouts today for everyone. Will do an easy spin on my bike after work and then no more cycling until Saturday (my century ride in Yreka). Have printed out my eating plan for the day on Fitday. My lunch bag is so full of snacks! Tomorrow is a potluck at work but will try not undo all the clean eating.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Drive safe Karen! Hope you and Lois have fun too.

Well, no workout today, school in Reno. But managed to squeeze in the new Cathe Low Impact Step yesterday. It was great fun and just the right amount for me. I was surprised that it was easy, but managed to keep my HR up. I must have worked the quads pretty good since my knee is tight today. I didn't wear my brace either, darn it.

Well, back to work. Have a great day everyone and fun workouts!

Good morning, Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

It was cardio for me today. I did CTX All Step, parts of CTX Power Circuit (step only) and some of CTX Step and Intervals. It was a good workout. I'm always so surprised at how intense these shorter cardio segments are. Didn't have time to do a short bike ride yesterday after having to shop a bit after work, so took the dogs on a 1/2 hour walk around the block. I then had to make something (Rice Crispies treats) for the potluck today at lunch. I nibbled more than I should have (bad me).

Hope you are doing okay, Karen. Rhea, glad you liked the new DVD's and it's good to hear they kept your heart rate up. I should look at some clips of them to see if maybe I need to purchase them or not.

Good workouts all.

Jeanette

Good morning all!

Due to my bike ride tomorrow in Yreka, CA, it was Pyramid Upper Body (up only) for me. This is an amazing workout and I always feel so worked out when I'm done. Think I like it because of the music and the fact that you know how many reps you have to do, 12-10-8. The stability ball work (pikes) in this is challenging when your arms are fried.

Yesterday's potluck was a good one (tasty food wise), and I was pretty bad, but not as bad as I could have been }( , and there was an amazing dessert that I won't tell you about. Anyway, that's behind me (hope that's not where it's going to stick) and on to clean eating. Today I'll try to concentrate on even more water for tomorrow's bike ride and tonite's dinner in Mt. Shasta will be carb loaded. Not sure where the glass of wine comes in, but anyway, I'll be with friends and it promises to be a good time. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate on Saturday and the century ride will be successful for all of us. Really looking forward to it!

Good workouts, everyone and Karen, Rhea and Natalie, hope you get a chance to check in.

Jeanette

Hello!

Wanted to pop in and with you luck on the century tomorrow Jeanette! I wish you would tell us about that dessert, we need to live vicariously through you, you know. :p

How'd you like that rain yesterday? I got stuck in it with the dogs. I was only in the back yard, but out at the greenhouse when the hail started. The hail/slush, I swear, was almost an inch thick. The dogs were hiding behind me like I was their protector. After it slowed down a little, i.e., no more hail, just big old rain drops, we made a run for it. The dogs stayed the first time, I had to run back and get them to leave the greenhouse, the turkeys. I was soaked!

Hi Rhea, Karen, and Natalie:

Thanks, Rhea for the good wishes. We had a great ride in Yreka. On the way over Friday evening, it poured rain. However Saturday morning was rainless, but clouds that threatened rain. We all carried some sort of raingear on the bikes and plenty of layers. It started out about 46 degrees at 7:30 a.m. and never got above 61 degrees, but was comfortable enough for riding. The scenery was beautiful and our pace was good. There are only 2 real climbs on the ride and they were not bad at all (I owe this to my Cathe workouts more than anything). In fact, the 2nd harder climb I passed a lot of people that had zipped by me earlier. Feels good to have the endurance and strength. The last 16 miles north into Yreka had a partial headwind and one of the gals in our group had pushed too hard earlier on, just didn't have any more push left so we rode pretty slow (10 mph or so) for a good part of the way back, but that was okay. We all finish together and pull for each other. We did get rained on, but within 3 miles of Yreka and it wasn't cold so we just pressed on. Great meal at the Fairgrounds (where the ride started) when we were done. This is probably the last long ride of the season for me, but will probably do some shorter rides on the weekends around here to stay in shape.

Felt real good this morning, a little stiffness in my back, but otherwise feel great so did Kick, Punch and Crunch this morning. Love that workout. Now have wood to stack. Will get back on the clean eating wagon again and track my calories on fitday.

Good workouts to all. I'll be preparing for vacation this week too so will be busy.

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

New week here of Cathe's September rotation:

My modifications:
Monday: Imax 2, did this one this morning, always a workout
Tuesday: 200 walking lunges and stretch. Will do a Cardio classic to substitute for the 40 minute power walk.
Wednesday: Cardio & Weights
Thursday: Low Max and Coremax
Friday: Gym Style Legs and Abs from CTX
Saturday: On vacation, walking, cycling, etc.
Sunday: Ditto

Spent the day yesterday stacking wood so my back is a bit tight. Have a massage tomorrow. Looking forward to that, but could really use it today instead. Will be getting ready to leave on Friday morning for our Oregon trip. Hope to hear from everybody.

Jeanette

Hi Karen, Rhea, and Jeanette,

I'm starting week 2 of the September rotation today. My calves were a bit sore this week but otherwise I'm feeling ok. It's those static lunges that always get my calves.

I have the day off today so am going to spend some time with my Dad later this morning and enjoy the nice weather.

Natalie

Hi Natalie, Karen and Rhea:

You must have done "Meaner Legs"? Static lunges are hard. Today was supposed to be a 40 minute power walk, but at 3 a.m., where would I go? Instead, I got out Step Max from Cardio Classics and did about 1/2 hour of stepping. Cathe's come a long way (and so have the outfits) since the production of that one. Anyway, I did work up a sweat and then did the 200 walking lunges around the house. They really don't take that long to do and I could sure feel the burn. Then afterwards I stretched out on my own. 3rd day of clean eating today, tomorrow will be my big calorie day (about 400-500 more). Also have a massage scheduled for after work, which I will enjoy as my lower back is still tight from the bike ride and stacking wood all day on Sunday.

Good workouts everyone, and Natalie, hope you had a nice time with your Dad.

Jeanette

Good afternoon!

I might have to do that "meaner legs" I haven't done that one is a while. Workouts are getting at little scarce at my house. I'm very dissapointed in the time I have. Oh well, worse case scenario, I don't go to school next semester. I would love to be bi-lingual, but may have to find alternative ways of getting there.

No workouts to report. I think I'm going to try and get a TLP one done today, called Core Foundations. I need to put that tough core workout back in my schedule for a while so that I can tighten up the core. We'll see how many times I fall off that stability ball and eat carpet!

Have a great day.

Good morning Rhea, Karen and Natalie:

Good to hear from you Rhea. Sorry you don't have more time. I love the core workouts too. Didn't really start feeling tightness again until I started cutting out the fats in my diet. Then the tighter core came back.

Did Cardio & Weights this morning. Will try to get in a run tonite. We skipped running last week and I missed it. Hope DH can go tonite, but think he will have to work late as the plant broke down and they are scrambling to get it going again. In fact, we can't leave for our vacation on the day we planned (Friday), ;( hopefully Saturday morning. Guess it is for the best.

Well, must go. Have lots to do at work today. Will have a huge stack when I return from vacation. I'll try not to think about it.

Karen, hope we hear from you soon and hope you are enjoying your tour!

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Natalie & Rhea!

Finally I've been able to log on. We're in Oklahoma right now -- am keeping up with the workouts -- just. One day I had to skip when we were in Amarillo, as the schedule was so intense that day -- but mostly we've been coming in late -- and getting up early and so I haven't had a chance to log on.

We've had some adventures, that's for sure -- anyway, just wanted to come on and say "Hi". I miss you all three.

Did HSTA yesterday and today is a cardio and stretch which I'm really looking forward to -- the stretch -- as my neck is a bit sore...

Anyway, it's going great and I'll log on when I can.

Have a wonderful week.:D

Hi Jeanette, Karen and Natalie!

So glad to see you're safe Karen! Was wondering how that trip was going. I hope your neck gets better. Mine doesn't particularly like all the car driving and sitting either.

Jeanette - where are you going for vacation? You might have mentioned it before, but I can't remember. I sure hope you have a great time.

Natalie - how's the September rotation doing?

Well, for me, I did get in the Core Foundations workout. I was a bit surprised at how well I did. I think I was doing better than I did when I first started the workout. I would have to attribute the stronger core to all the Cathe workouts. I didn't eat any carpet, almost once. I even managed to do the tic-tocs, those are really hard. You are in plank position with your feet grabbing the sides of the stability ball. The movement is touching your toes to the ground in a "tic/toc" movement. Of course, my back is a bit sore today, so I used it too much yesterday. Oh well, just more hot tub for me.

Have a great day everyone!
