KK's November Check In

Cathlete
Good November morning!

Today's workout was GS Legs (lunges with weights only and then on to floorwork) for 1/2 hour, then Christi Taylor's Cardio Collectibles Hi-Lo (most of it). Yesterday was Cardio Coach #1 on the bike trainer. Intense. I expected it to me easier because it was the first one, no way! Loved the music and Sean's voice, talk about motivating!

Rhea, sorry you are working harder and hope you can get a handle on the heartburn. No fun. I had it when I was expecting our son, toward the end. My DH takes Prilosec (1X per day) for his acid reflux. He's got the food part figured out, what bothers him and what doesn't. What are you sewing? The Turbo Jams are fun!

Becky, hope the time goes quickly until you see DH again. How's the studying going?

Karen, the dances sound like fun and beautiful too. You will be sooo ready.

Sorry for not long personals but I can't check back to the other thread without losing this,...

Only had 2 sets of trick or treaters last night. 7 kids total. I don't know why DH thinks we should still have candy. I've stayed out of it so far.

Must run. My UPS tracker was updated, still on schedule for Cathe deliveries tomorrow. Too bad about the freezing DVD's. Think they will have to replace all of them. Wonder if we'll have to send these back.

Jeanette

Good morning!

I can't believe it is November already! I must get going on that Christmas stuff....eeek.

Between work, Halloween and Heartburn, I didn't get a chance to workout yesterday. I should be able to today.

I've been sewing a Halloween pillow, and a Christmas wall hanging. Pillow is done and the quilting is done on the wall hanging. All that is left is the finishing work, which to me takes a lot longer than it should.

Anyhoo...gotta run. Work to do. (BTW, no extra pay for extra work at these salt mines!)

Have great workouts everyone!

Good Evening!:)

Ah, the end of the day and I get to come and say hello. So nice to see you here -- am so glad that you started the November link, Jeanette. Whew! Can you believe it's November already?

We had about 10 groups of kids here last night -- probably 50 trick or treaters all total -- we always enjoy it -- guess we live in a high traffic area for Trick or Treat.

Anyway, today was the fancy dancing and a stretch, which was great.

Have just had some rather distressing news. My editor has accepted another job with a company that does not do book-type publishing -- it means I'm losing my editor at my publishing house. Now, in the world of publishing your editor means everything. Literally everything. So, I'm a little spooked. It's the first time in all the years I've been in publishing that this has every happened to me. And it's a little disconcerting, I must say. It's called being an orphan -- and sometimes it can spell the end of careers. Deep sigh...

Anyway, Jeanette, sounds like you're right on track with all you're doing -- oh, what is the problem -- are the DVD's freezing up? Oh dear, and I'm so looking forward to getting these workouts.

Rhea -- the pillow and wall hanging sound beautiful. My nother-in-law does that sort of thing -- and her creations are utterly beautiful.

Well, again, I'm a little stressed over what's happened with my editor -- and she'll be leaving rather quickly -- by the 1st of December (and of course I have a payment coming). Again, deep sigh.

Have a great day, everyone and terrific workouts.:7

Good morning,
Hope everyone is well. Becky, missed you checking in yesterday.

Today's workout was Imax Extreme from the Terminator DVD. Good one, but I didn't quite finish as it's longer than 1 hour and I had to get DH up to go to work. Its basically 1 C&W step segment, 1 C&W compound weight segment and then 2 Imax 2 intervals, (repeat 4 times). Fun workout.

Today is a massage after work :7

Had to take our older female cat to the vet yesterday. She's been losing weight, but she's still perky. We put her on a Senior Science Diet and think she's already eating and feeling better. No more cheapo cat food for her. Hope this does the trick. Think she is about 14 years old and the vet said that is old for a cat.

Rhea, bet your projects look great. I think we got 7 kids for Halloween here. Not easy pickings like up on Cherry Terrace.

Karen, enjoy your fancy dancing today. Yes, many reports of freezing on the DVD's. Mine should come today. Tomorrow is my day off but I'm going out of town with some girlfriends for the day. Will try to get a new workout in though.

Karen, sorry to hear about your editor leaving. Is it tough to get another editor? I'm sure you will bounce back from this, but my thoughts will be with you.

Good workouts today,

Jeanette

Good morning ladies.

Sorry I didn't check-in yesterday. Got so engrossed in my studying. Yesterday and today I did 50 minutes on the elliptical machine while studying. I kept my speed pretty quick and a higher resistance. Tomorrow my new DVDs arrive and I hope to do one of them after my test!

Karen, so sorry to hear about the editor. Does she only have 2 weeks left? That stinks!

Rhea, that is so cool that you sew. It is nice to have a creative outlet. I try to make mine cooking. I used to do scrap-booking and cross-stitch but there is no time for that anymore.

Jeanette, enjoy that massage! That is pretty old for a cat (I used to be a vet tech), but they can live up to 20 years or so if they have good genes and are well cared for.

Must get back to studying.

-Becky

Good morning!

Karen - that's so sad about your editor. You'll be just fine. I'm sure that another editor will be assigned to you and you will keep cranking out the books.

Becky - I like to cross-stitch too. However, sometimes I have too many projects going at once.

Jeanette - glad to hear that your kitty is doing better. My Sam lived until he was 18. I swear that he intentionally went out to Richmond where he got tumbled. He was a very cranky old man by that time and hardly ever left the house.

Well, got to get some work done. Have great workouts everyone.

Oh, I won't be here tomorrow, so have a great weekend too!

Good Evening!:)

It was Supersets for me today -- didn't feel like doing some of my harder strength workouts, so I opted for Supersets, which I love. Just love that ball.

I will be speaking with my editor tomorrow -- not sure the publishing company has hired anyone yet to take her place -- she'll be at the publishing company until December. Sigh...

Jeanette -- hope your massage was great. Bet it was -- how I love a good massage. Glad to hear that your kitty is doing well. I have so many kitties, and I love them all -- don't want anything to happen to any of them.

the IMAX extreme sounds like a good workout. The Intensity series remains my favorite series -- and I bet I might like it.

Becky -- nice to hear from you today. Glad the elliptical machine works out for you. Must be nice when you have so much studying to do.

Rhea -- sounds like things are going well for you. Have a super weekend!

Well, must get to bed. Can't believe I'm logging on so long -- been doing some research tonight. Whew!

Have a super day and terrific workouts!:7

Good morning,
My day off today. Going shopping with some girlfriends so can't stay here long. My new Cathe's came yesterday. After previewing Low Impact Circuit, I did it today in full. It was a fun workout, not too hard so that it'll have a dread feel to it. I liked the band work too. Very fun music. However, mine froze at 42, during tricep extensions. Guess a lot of them are, thus the replacement to come for I'm reading. Mine froze for a few seconds and then started up again. I also had some other problems, but after cleaning my drive, it was okay.

My massage yesterday was very nice :7

Becky, our cat is doing better. She's more filled out already, nibbles on the new food and seems very happy. Hope this does the trick.

Rhea, I used to do some cross stitching. Seems like most of my nighttime hobbies have been replaced with reading on the internet. Sad, huh? Guess when the mood hits me, I'll do something.

Karen, hope the editor situation improves. I know it'll all be okay. Do you have a fancy dance tomorrow at Griffith park? If so, hope you really make the feathers fly!

Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Good Evening!:)

Jeanette -- hope you enjoyed your day off -- sounds like you had some fun things planned with your friends. Am glad you liked the workout that you did -- I just got my videos today -- so I haven't done them yet -- did IMAX the original today -- for some reason it played okay in my VHS player. It's a fun workout.

Talked to my editor today and my agent and the transition looks as though it will be as smooth as possible. Of course, I have concerns, but it looks like this is a step up for my editor, so. I'll just hang in there and keep writing.

Becky -- is your hubby home now? Hope so.

Rhea -- have a great weekend.

Yes, tomorrow is the exhibition dancing -- there will be 8 dancers all total and Tricia, my friend, hopefully will have time to do my hair -- it's always a problem with these things -- as the do is supposed to be two french braids on each side of the face -- something that I can't do myself.

It's a busy weekend for me again as I'm still doing work for a friend -- and I have to start earlier tomorrow because of the exhibition, so... may not get a workout in tomorrow -- if I don't, I'll try to get one in on Sunday.

Have a simply wonderful weekend everyone and terrific workouts!

Good morning,
Can't spend too much time as I need to do some house cleaning and then help DH with the wood. Stacking is my job and he's out there splitting now.

Did Butts and Guts today. Great workout and boy did I burn. I really enjoyed this one and can see using the mix and match and premixes a lot. This one worked me like I used to feel when I first started out. Loved the firewalkers. Top notch DVD! I did have a freeze at segment 53 for a few seconds, then it continued to play.

Yesterday's shopping day with my friends was so much fun. We ate a little too much but it was yummy. Great company and I bought some Christmas gifts. Nice to get out.

Karen, wonder if you are dancing right now, with beautifully braided hair. Hope you have the BEST time! I'm glad things are a bit better with the editor situation as far as transitioning. I know it wil be fine for you and you will get thru it.

Tomorrow is the group bike ride. I'm thinking I will be sore. My legs are fatigued right now and I have to go help DH. Hope I make it.

Great weekend and workouts.

LOVING MY NEW DVD'S! Think I will start the November Cathe Rotation on Monday with Body Max 2 (4 week plan). Anyone want to join me?

This should shock my body good!

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette,

I would love to join you on the Cathe November rotation. I actually started today with Bodymax 2. I loved the workout. With the new dvd's all being over an hour, I can only fit in bodymax 2 on the weekend.

I'm looking forward to joining a check-in since I haven't been on the forums much lately.

Diana

Hi Diana!

Would love to have you join this check-in. There are only a few of us and we only post once a day (sometimes not at all on the weekends), so it's not real chatty, but for some of us, that can be good as it's not too hard to keep up with personals. Also, it's only one thread per month. I liked the Hardcore check in, but I'm on the west coast so by the time I read everything and posted, I don't think anyone read what I had to say, they had already gone to bed and a new thread was started each morning.

I'll be taking a rest day (just a bike ride) tomorrow and will start Bodymax2 on Monday. I'll probably have to shorten it as I usually only have 1 hour to work out.

Hope to hear from you soon. I did Butts & Guts today and am waiting for the DOMS to kick in. I'm slightly sore is all. Maybe the cycling tomorrow will keep the soreness away?

Jeanette

Good morning,

I have a bike ride this morning, but it's sprinkling slightly out so won't really know until the time comes. I did Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness - 30 minute Quickie. Felt good. I'm feeling some DOMS in my butt from Butts & Guts. Have not felt that in a LONG time.

Have a good weekend,

Jeanette

Count me in on the November rotation. I will be doing BodyMax2 tomorrow.

Sorry I have been distant. DH and my in-laws are in town this weekend. Just thought I'd check in really quick. Friday I did LIC and yesterday I rested. Not sure what I'll do tonight. Either a bit on the elliptical or one of the cardio-only premixes of the new workouts.

I will post more tomorrow once my house is empty again. I hope everyone had great weekends...I know I did!

-Becky

Good Evening!

First of all WELCOME, Diana. You are most genuinely welcome. As Jeanette said, we mostly check in once a day -- and some of us (like me) post late at night -- and the thread goes the entire month -- so it's easy to catch up.

Well, I have my new DVD's and can't wait to get started. Like some of the rest of you, however, I only have an hour to work out and I notice that most of the workouts are over an hour long, so I'll have to do premixes, I'm afraid and gradually learn the workouts that way, I think.

Looked at the rotation, but again, I don't really have the time to go over an hour, darn it -- that rotation really looks like fun.

Busy weekend for me -- as the weekends are tending to be until I finish the work I'm doing for my friend. Oh, the fancy dancing went off great -- my hubby video taped it so that I can go back and critique myself, which is always good. Someone was also there who took what looks like a good picture, and she said she'll send it to me over email. When I get it, I'll see if I can post it.

Jeanette -- So glad you like Butts and Glutes -- can't wait to get into these workouts, myself. Also hope your bikeride went well.

Becky -- how was LIC? Was it anaerobic with weights as well, or was it mostly cardio paced? You sure look to be busy with all your studay and in-laws and moving... Whew!

Diana -- As I said, I can only do an hour a day -- I'm going to look at these mixes in the morning and see if I can fit them into my rotations.

Here's my plan:

Monday: One of the IMAX's for anaerobics

Tuesday: LIC -- probably a premix

Wed: Fancy dancing (Have another exhibition in December) and a stretch

Thurs: All Weight workout -- not sure which one

Fri: Drill Max -- probably a premix

Sat: A circuit workout, though not sure which one

Sun: Off

Once I figure out the premixes, I might be able to join the rotation -- sure would like to.

Well, have a terrific day, everyone and some serious fun with the workouts!:7

Good morning,

Today I am starting the November rotation. Body Max 2 was on tap for today. I elected to use the Cardio & Weights premix (70 1/2 minutes). Really fun step combos. Fun, invigorating workout. Very doable for me, though I used 12#ers for the weight work instead of 15's. Next time will go with 15's. I cut the stretch short a little and I will maybe cut the warmup a little next time too. Like I said, very fun!

Yesterday's bike ride was good, only 3 of us attending though. We did 27 miles at a fairly easy pace. I was happy because I was still feeling it from Butts and Guts. Soreness is much better today. The premix I did today doesn't have any leg work in it, which was a-okay with me.

Karen, glad the Fancy dancing was fun for you. We look forward to seeing a picture of you in your costume.

Becky, glad you enjoyed your company. A nice break, but sometimes nice to get back to the grind.

Diana, hope you get a chance to post. Let us know what you think of Bodymax2.

Good workouts!

Jeanette

Good evening ladies.

I actually ended up starting the November rotation yesterday. So, last night I did BM2. I love the cardio in it.

Today I did a 25 minute run and then segment 1 of stretchmax.

Jeanette and Diana, hope you both enjoyed BM2 today.

Karen, I too can't wait to see that costume. I really am not sure how LIC is cardio-wise...I kept having to stop to answer the phone since the company was coming in. So, my HR didn't stay up like it should have. The cardio was fun in it. It is scheduled in the November rotation for tomorrow for me though so I'll be able to give you a better idea of it then.

Rhea, hope all is well with you.

Well, I must get back to studying. It is never-ending!

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Busy day today -- trying to catch up with all the stuff I didn't do over the weekend.x(

Did IMAX2 today for anaerobics and have LIC scheduled for tomorrow -- probably a premix. Am really looking forward to it.

So, tomorrow is a big day, isn't it? Hope you have fun voting!:)

Jeanette -- That Cardio & Weights premix sounds right up my alley -- I know I really love the original Body Max and so will look forward to this one.

Glad that your ride was so much fun.

Becky -- we're both doing LIC tomorrow -- although I doubt I'll have the time to do the entire workout -- will probably do a premix. Great on getting in the run and a stretch today.

Have been observing an oddball phenomena of the jets in the sky here in LA -- leaving grid-like trails of white in the sky that do not disappear for hours on end. Am wondering if these things are having something to do with the horrible conditions of the air here in LA these past few months. Strange... Have any of you noticed these things in the area where you live? These jets seem to fly all day long, making these grid-like patterns in the sky -- I've never seen anything like it... Interesting...

Anyway, tomorrow will be my sort of "day off," since I worked all weekend. Can't wait to get things that need getting done -- done -- mostly grocery shopping and cleaning, etc.

Have a simply wonderful day tomorrow and fun and effective workouts.:7

Good morning,
Today's workout was a 20 minute run and stretch segment. I subbed with the 48 minute all step premix of Cardio Fusion. Good workout and I got to do some power circuits that I didn't do yesterday in Bodymax2 so it was good. I finished off with the stretch from that premix. I have Cardio Coach on my bike after work tonite.

Becky, glad you enjoyed BM2. I'll have to wait for a weekend to do it in full.

Karen, let us know how you like LIC. I have it on the schedule for tomorrow, probably a premix, but you never know. I may do it in full as this is a holiday week and I have a little more time in the morning.

Must get a move on,

Jeanette

Hello!

Just a quick post between court appearances. Glad everyone is having fun with the new workouts. The only one I've been able to do is the B&G. I got to do that one on Sunday. (Yesterday was no-go for any workouts due to work and a fundraiser at DH's school yesterday. Ooh, Jeanette - I should have told you about it.....spagetti dinner for only $4.00! It was a great turnout, we actually started running out of food.)

Any hoo....I'm still sore from B&G, I'm hoping that I can get some of the LIC in today. I Bunco this evening, but not until 7pm, so my fingers are crossed. I really need to get a workout in so I can get rid of this lactic acid!
