So sorry I've been out of touch. I had to take to the road mid February and then have been just busy, busy, busy. At present I'm in Florida, but I'll be coming home very soon.
Hi Janie! Hi Rhea! Hi Jeanette!
Rhea, I wanted to pass along a book I'm reading -- in all my dieting I've sort of forgotten about low-carb. It's still part of my diet (some things just don't go away easily), but I haven't been stressing it. Then this last Saturday (cause I'm away from hubby at the moment), I turned on an internet talk radio show and the host had on a personal trainer who has an unusal view about diet. Anyway, I ordered the book, and it's really good. It's low carb, but he really discusses why this is such a good idea -- and he calls it "normal carb." But on this low carb diet, some carbs (breads and fruits) are allowed and people lost weight like mad.
He also stresses eating good meats and raw products and raw milk products or at least lacto fermented milk if raw can't be gotten. Anyway, I know you're part of the lo carb thread and so I thought I'd pass this along. I'm about 1/2 way through reading it -- you get a download free if you buy the hard copy of the book -- and actually you can share the download two other times. Here's the website: http://www.liberationdiet.com/
Similar in many respects to Atkins, it yet is quite different and he really stresses the need for whole foods, fermented drinks, soaked nuts and grains, etc. He goes into Weston A. Price and how important his research was as repect to diet. Anyway, I thought I'd pass this along.
I've really been out of it on the forums, but I got something in my email from Cathe today that made me think I'd better try to communicate to you both again. Time right now passes me by quickly.
Hi Janie! How are you doing with your exercise? With Joey? With your book? Am right now in the process of negotiating some of my back titles for an ebook publisher. Sad about all the bookstores closing. No more Waldenbooks, no more B. Dalton, no more Bookstars (or very few), Books Galore and now Borders is going out of business.
Peoople say it's cause of the internet, but that's a lie. The truth is a little more sinister and if you have an interest, I can tell you more about it in personal emails. Think about it logically for a moment. If it were true, that the internet was the reason, all the publishers would have to do is move everything to the internet -- but that's not happening because it's not too easy to make a good living with ebooks.
Anyway, hope all is well. I've been keeping up my exercise -- and with this diet book, I'm at last beginning to make a dent in those extra pounds.
Have a super evening!
