KK's June Check In

Morning,
Skipped my workout today, but will get a walk in during my break tonite. My sister, BIL and niece arrive today for Grandma's memorial time. I'll be off work Fri, Mon and Tues. Hoping my sister will work out with me in the mornings.

Karen, Basic Step is a good one. That's the one that started it all for me. I remember being so excited that I could do "Around the World". Hope the doctor appointment gets scheduled for the near future. I would like to make bread sometime. I thought I'd do it during the winter but never did this past winter.

Rhea, I played golf with Mary Jo Norris yesterday after work. I had a good time and we're going to play again next Wed. I thought about you on the 4th hole, almost making it to the other side of the ditch. I barely got over in 2, and where it landed was absolutely unplayable. Hope the muscle migraine stayed away. Keep up the stretching. I'm a good one to talk, I don't do it at all most of the time.

Hi Janie, bet you are busy in the garden.

Jeanette

Mornin all,

KK, You are amazing! Helping people the ay you do. Do be carefull though OK? So glad for you about your taxes being done. YEAH! Bet that's a load off your mind. Continue to walk as you do, you'll be yourself in no time, especially if you put in here and there a little run. Good for you! What did the doc say when you checked in.

Jeanette, Love the 4DS! I need to get them out again. The weather here has still been cold in the a.m.'s but beautiful during the day, 60's sometime in the lows 70's. I'm thinking about taking my bike outside and just riding it around our dirt (but rocky) roads here. Succulents are wonderful plants and very unique. Have fun with them and enjoy there little ones. You can cut the babies off from the mother and continue to plant them all Summer long. How was your Grandma's memorial time? Were you and your sister able to work out?

Rhea, Continue to have fun with golfing. You deserve it and glad to hear your back and shoulder is better. Have a great time Thursday and Friday in the city. Did the muscle migraine stay at bay for you?

Joey and I are still exercising our muscles every other day. Not hard routines, but since we are so active outside I think it works for us.

Tomorrow is my consultation for plastic surgery. Can't wait. Also my son invited me over to Vegas for a visit. I'll be there on the 25th and home on the 1st. We will see Phantom of the opera, Bette Metler, Zumanity, and Copperfield. In between time hiking, swimming and the Zoo. I'm so excited!

Then on the 4th of July weekend will have a family reunion. Will also celebrate Joey's 70th birthday during that time.

Good Evening!:)

Well my DH and I are looking at getting in a garden, as well. We have seed -- we bought seed stock to last a lifetime -- if you save the seed from year to year. Right now the garden is on our roof -- we have grapes and blueberries growing -- I also have a banana plant that has never produced a banana yet and I just bought a peach tree. We also have a pomogranit tree -- sorry can't spell it. But we're looking at putting in a garden as well. Lots of work.

It was a walk for me again today and running just a little at the end of the walk.

Jeanette, it sounds like you have some good times coming with the warmth of your family coming to be around you. Am so glad that Basic Step is coming -- I had to look at doing it that way cause by the time I get back onto the exercise bandwagon it will be a little like starting over. I do like making my own bread -- and this is my own Eziekiel recipe -- can't eat the soy in the store-bought brands and millet hulls have thyroid inhibitors, as well -- so I'm making my own -- but instead of sprouting the grains (cause what I have is flour) -- I;m fermenting the flour instead, which gives it a sour dough taste which I quite like. Also make my own ketsup and mustard and other things like that, as well.

Janie, actually I didn;t make it to the doctor today -- I'll be doing it tomorrow -- it;s a clinic so I might not see the doctor, but mostly I;m going in to pay the bill and learn more about the clinic. Hope that consultation with the plastic surgeon goes well tomorrow. You know, Janie, my DH and I plan to be in the Vegas area over the 4th of July weekend -- but not directly in Vegas -- will be going to a shooting area called Frontsight.

Rhea, hope you're having a good time in the city and hope that muscle in your shoulder doesn;t give you trouble.

Georgie really is smitten with my cat, Kali. He sits and watches her -- can;t take his eyes off her. It;s as though he's never seen anything as pretty as she is. It;s so cute.

Okay tomorrow I;ll be going to the clinic tomorrow and when that is done it;ll be time to get my correspondence up to date and get the new proposal in to my editor. Well, have a super day tomorrow and enjoy your time with family.:7

KK, Hope your gardening is doing well. I know I said this last year, but what an interesting place for a garden. You also have wonderful choices of seed. Let me know how it goes.

Congratulations on a little run from time to time. You are one brave lady. You must be healing very well. I hope so anyway.

How was the visit to your doctor?

My consultation for breast implant removal was great. He told me that postmenopausal and menopausal women grow breast tissue. I didn't know that. But the good news is after they take them out, it won't be that much difference after a breast lift. The surgery will take 3-4 hours (wow). it does cost a lot of money though, and only 2,000 of it (maybe) insurance will pay. We will have to pay for the lift. So we are looking anywhere from a little over $5,000 to a little over $8,000. Needs to be done though.

Georgie has such a great personality. How cute that he can't take his eyes off Kali.

Today is our 17th wedding anniversary. We went to a play and a great restaurant. It was really nice.

Tomorrow we will do Muscle Max. We need it after what we ate tonight then will do a longer cardio the next day. I'll be trying out a new DVD by Patricia Moreno. It's a Kickbox and core cross train. It looks great and most likely a high intermediate workout. Looking forward to that.

Good luck with your new proposal.

Take care everyone and hope your weekends were good.

Good Evening!:)

I'm sitting here with the cast off -- am doing that little by little each day -- just to give my finger joints a chance to move -- The swelling on the hand is beginning to come down, though it and the fingers are still quite swollen. But it;s improving.

Janie, I love this graphic -- looks like she;s cooling down. Well I;ve been here over a month and just yesterday finally unpacked -- and I discovered that I had brought some of my Cathe workouts after all. I may start to try to do some cardio only -- we;ll see -- otherwise it will still be a walk for me each day.

We worked on the garden today -- we're planning to put it in our front yard -- instead of a lawn -- we;ll have to tear up the lawn but we are really wanting to put in a garden.

The weekend was quiet for me -- lots of work -- housework, yard work, but good. Tomorrow I plan to get down to work on my correspondence ( some of it I left in storage in FL by mistake ) -- and the new proposal. I;d like to get them both done this week.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea! Hope your weekends were great! Have a terrific day!:7

Good morning!

Had a wonderful weekend. Lots of driving though. Got home Saturday evening and for some reason, I decide that I could make a quick trip to Reno yesterday )that's another about three hours of driving!!!) But I needed to pick up the wood flooring and a bunch of other things. So I jumped in the truck and went over there. I am a little tired of cars, but thank goodness for books on tape.

Not sure what workout I will pop in today, probably a Turbo jam. There is a forest fire nearby, so our air quality is very bad, almost looks like fog. It is terrible since you cannot open the windows to cool off your house. I'm crossing my fingers that some sort of breeze kicks up today and that the fire is contained.

Oaky, I better get back to work. Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

Actually was able to do a Cathe workout today for the first time since breaking my hand. Still isn't healed completely, but I found that I could do cardio so long as I kept my hand close to me. Did CTX cardio -- short but at least I was able to do it. Just have to keep the hand close.

Rhea, sounds like a good time driving -- I love to drive, actually and I, too, put in either books, or tapes or music -- and I love just going. Too bad about the fog and forest fires. It was a beautiful day today here today. Not quite so hot -- it's been over 100 degrees here for the past few days. Nice to get a relief today.

Hi Jeanette & Janie! Oh, Janie, I wanted to tell you I didn't know that breast tissue can grow later in life, but it makes sense. I'm past that time of life and I had noticed the breasts are a little larger -- now that makes sense.

Anyway, take care and have a super day, everyone.:7

Hi all,
Have been busy with family here for Grandma's memorial. We had a nice family get together, and the time remembering Grandma was nice. Went on a 4-wheeler ride on Sunday, and stayed home today and will be home tomorrow too. Golfed on Friday and then again today. Worked out with my sister on Friday (we did Supersets), then we worked out yesterday morning and did a premix from SJP. She only does 8 Minute workouts and not consistently so know these Cathe workouts were a shock to her.

No workout this morning as it was my rest day. Tomorrow I will be back at it, play golf and have a ladies bike ride. Also bought a bunch of plants and got them in the ground tonite. They look nice.

Karen, so glad that you are able to do some cardio. Bet that's feeling good to get the heart rate up a bit. I took a little nap late this afternoon and woke up to very smoky conditions outside. Hope it clears out tomorrow.

Janie, glad the consultation went well. I didn't know that breast tissue grew as we got older! Hmmmm. Congrats on your 17th anniversary! We'll be celebrating 29 this next month.

Rhea, hope you enjoyed Turbo Jam. I need to get that one out sometime. I like driving a little better with my new (to me) car. Bummer on the smoke, huh? There's a ton of fires going on right now.

Will post more tomorrow.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Just a quick post before court. Got home late last night (well, late for me that is) and DH was busy in the garage, so I did the 20 minute Turbo Jam. Wasn't sure how that would turn out. The house is a little warmer than usual because we can't open the windows to air it out or cool it off because of the smoke. It was okay, got warm fast, so the 20 minutes was just right. This morning was a little better for smoke so I quickly cooled the house down and then turned on the air filters to take the little bit of smokey smell out. I was glad that I could cool it down. It was still 70 degrees in the house and if it is warm today, the house wouldn't get cooled off and we would be miserable in the evening. But I got it down to 63 in the back area and then about 66 in the front of the house. That will be good for today.

Not sure what I'll do for a workout today. Some sort of weights and maybe a tad bit of cardio added on. I really need to clean up the eating. When DH is working in Foster City, I'll be able to do great long workouts and definately clean up the eating. No more temptations from him (watching him eat that ice cream, drink that glass of wine, etc.) I'll be able to put extra effort and "get 'er done."

Well, got to see what I'm supposed to be doing in about 15 mintues. So, talk to you later.

Have a great day everyone!

Mornin,

KK, It is so great to see that you are doing better. I'm Happy for you, enjoying Cathe's cardios again. A front yard garden, how lovely. Enjoy that as well.

Rhea, My Joey likes driving too. He puts in books on tape and CD's. What room did you put the wood flooring in? Hope you don't have to work too hard, but I know whatever you do, it must look fantastic. Is Turbo Jam worth getting? So sorry about the fire. That has got to be unnerving. Hope the outcome is good.

Jeanette, I'm so glad the memorial get together was nice for you. Your activities like 4 wheeling and golfing sounds like you have great times. Was your sister sore from working out with Cathe? Is Tubo Jam to you, worth getting? I'm wanting to get them, but need advice. 29 years of marriage. WOW. Congratulations and Happy Anniversary.

Today is Cardio and about ready to do Kickbox: Core Cross Training with Patricia Moreno. I watched it last night. Looks like I'll be sweating a lot in this workout.

Take care everyone, and enjoy your projects.

Janie

Morning ladies,
Today was 3 combos from Step Blast, then stability ball abs from KPC. Fun workout. I'm going to go golf, get some plants, maybe ride my bike if not too smoky, then go woodcutting with DH when he gets off work. Tomorrow I go back to work. Bummer.

Janie, my sister was a little sore from the workouts, but didn't say a whole lot. I think she really needs to step up her workouts as she has zero muscle tone and she used to have more. Of course, the eating part is a huge component and she's had a hard time concentrating and being motivated about that. I only have one of the Turbo Jams, the first one and I think it's good. I need to pull that one out too. So many workouts and I forget about those. Our anniversary is actually next month. He's a saint to put up with me.

Rhea, I know what you mean about the food temptations from our spouses. My DH loves to bring home chips and I love to eat them. Those are a huge downfall for me. Hope it doesn't get too smoky today. I got a bunch of plants at Melissa's yesterday and got them in the ground last evening. Still need a few more.

Must go now,

Jeanette

Jeanette,

I'm so inspired from all the workouts and working you do. Keep up the good work.

I'll be leaving for Vegas tomorrow and will be back on the 1st. It's going to be a blast.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Good Evening!:)

Janie, what a clever graphic -- it does look like Vegas there in the background. Have fun! Janie, I had the first series of turbo jams and I loved them, but I gave them to my daughter. They are worth it I think. They are good when you're short on time, and with me that's often.

It was another CTX for me today, 10-10-10 -- I'll probably keep doing those cardios -- Did notice that the kickbox went well -- maybe I;ll be able to get back into upper body through kickboxing.

Jeanette, am so glad that your grandmother's memorial went well and that she was remembered fondly. Makes a difference. And love all the activity that you're doing -- really sounds like fun -- bet your husband loves "putting up with you." You;re so sweet that I can;t imagine it being difficult.

What sort of plants did you put in? I'm concentrating on food type of items. It would be so wonderful to have a garden and be able to eat off of it.

Rhea, so sorry that you and Jeanette are having such smoky conditions. It has been beautiful here in LA -- was horribly hot over the weekend, but it's cooled down now and it's simply beautiful. What weight workout did you finally decide on? Like you and Jeanette, it's hard on me, too, to watch my DH eat ice cream and not have any -- especially when it's homemade (he loves his homemade ice cream). It is easier when there's no temptation around, I think.

Well, have a super day tomorrow everyone!:7

Good morning,
Today was the 49 minute timesaver premix from GS Legs. I'm beginning a leg rotation made up by FitnessFreak366 that works legs 2X a week. Tonite will be golf with a girlfriend. DH and I ended up not cutting wood and went out to the woods to relax with the dogs. It was nice. When I got back, finished planting in the flower

Karen, glad you aren't getting the smoke. It's smoky again this morning. Looks like fog. I just put in some flowers, perennials and some annuals. Think it will look nice.

Janie, hope you have a great time in Vegas. I've never been before.

Hi Rhea,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Karen - I ended up doing Low Max. Had some time to do a longer workout and for some reason, Low Max sounded good. It was a perfect choice. Great leg workout and my house was still pretty cool, so it was too bad. Today the smoke was worse this morning, so I only opened the house for a tiny bit and only got it down to 69 degrees. So weights tonight is a good plan. My head is really stuffed and achy because of the smoke.

Jeanette - I heard that they are closing the woods to cutting on July 1. DH has been getting wood for the past three days. Today is his last load. Are you still going to golf if it is really smokey? Cudos to you if you can, I can't be out there in that smoke, my contacts get yucky and my head, well, not so hot...lol.

Janie - have a good time in Vegas....sounds like a great time.

Well, off to work. Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

Went to the doctor's today --it's a clinic and so long waits -- hand is healing up nicely -- I said that it hurts when I do this -- and showed the doctor the motion and he said, "Don;t do that." Felt like I was in a comedy routine. Next appointment is on July 10th -- hopefully the cast can be thrown away then. (It;s a half cast.)

It was Interval CTX for me today -- only the cardio and then took the dogs for a walk this evening -- one at a time.

Jeanette, that leg workout sounds fun -- I have noticed that since I haven't been doing my leg workouts that my butt and legs have expanded -- interesting cause the weight isn't that much higher than usual -- in fact it's coming down now. So those leg workouts are important, I think. Have fun with the rotation.

Bet the flowers are pretty.

Rhea, Low Max is a terrific workout -- I need to visit it more often. I can;t handle smoke like that very well either -- sorry you have so much of it. Were you able to do the weight workout tonight -- and I hope your head clears up.

One thing about the long wait today -- I took my Alpha Smart with me -- it;s like a calculator only in typewriter form -- and am almost done with the new proposal. Hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow and sent off to my editor either tomorrow or Friday.

Have a super day everyone! :7

Good morning,
Today was GS Chest and Triceps 31 min. superset premix, then tacked on the supermans and planks from Slow & Heavy. That premix is a good one and not so boring. Yesterday I played golf with a girlfriend. It was smoky out but not enough to bother either one of us. Eyes watered a bit, but not burning. Had fun. Tonite is a golf lesson. Will probably do the lesson, practice a bit and then come home and get these lawns mowed.

Karen, so glad you got a good report from the dr. LOL about "it hurts when I do this". Something out of Groucho Marx. Yep, I need leg workouts a couple times a week to see a difference.

Rhea, it'll be Low Max for me tomorrow. It is a great workout for the legs and boy do I sweat on that one. We'll be woodcutting on Saturday, think DH will go out after work. It'll be kind of nice that you probably won't have to worry about woodcutting when you live in Foster City. It's not my favorite thing to do, but the wood heat feels good.

Hi Janie,

Jeanette

Good morning!

Wow, Jeanette - I can't believe that you were out golfing in that smoke. I can't handle it. Could be just that since I have great allergies to pollen and cigarette smoke, etc., that the fire smoke just aggrevates the poor sinuses.

I just love Low Max and on a "good" day, you know, those days that the workout feels so fantastic and you have plenty of energy?, it is such a great workout. Of course, on those days, I can't really sit very well the day after...lol

Did not workout yesterday. For some reason I was just exhausted. Today, I don't think I'll get a workout in either. Massage person just called and asked to switch from tomorrow until today, so massage today at 4:00 p.m. Massage today is very good, might be able to get that knot out of my back that makes my arm go to sleep.

Karen - Glad that the doc appointment went well and that you got a lot of work done while waiting.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Evening!:)

Just lost my post -- pressed the wrong button.:+ Anyway, Wow, Jeanette, that;s great that you were able to go out and play golf despite the smoke and have fun with your girlfriend. Like Rhea, I have allergies to pollen and smoke and I;m afraid I would have had trouble, too.

Let;s see, it was All Step CTX cardio today -- and I was tired, but did it anyway. Then worked a bit -- took my cat, Sammy, into the vet as he developed a sore and made jerky -- well it;s drying right now.

Tomorrow am going to try to get that synopsis done and sent off and then down to correspondence.

Your workouts sound fun, Jeanette. Have fun with Low Max tomorrow.

And Rhea, hope your massage went well today. I have a hand that goes to sleep often, although right now it;s in a cast and so I don;t notice.

Well have a super day tomorrow and hope the workouts are all fun.:7

Morning,
Today was Low Max warmup and odd intervals 1-7. Tonite will be a bike ride.

Karen, what is the jerky made out of? Hope Sammy is okay. Glad you got All Step in. That's a fun one.

Rhea, enjoy the massage today. Hope they can get the knot worked out. Not so smoky this morning, so far. We may have to change our 4th of July camping area due to a fire near Chester. We'll see by next week.

Janie, remember you are going to Vegas. Packing?

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Jeanette
