KK's June Check In

Good morning!

Smoke is so much better today. I was able to leave the house open all night and get that cool air running through it.

Jeanette - hope you find a camping spot that is not being obliterated by the fires. It just is so sad that we are burning up Northern California.

Janie - I think you are already playing in Vegas. Hope you are having a great time. I know things that happen in Vegas are supposed to stay in Vegas, but you can tell us, right? lol

Karen - I used to have a kitty named Sammy. He was with us for 19 years. Towards the end of his life, he was a cranky ole kitty. Lovable, but like a grouchy old man. He would put his ears back and stare the babies down as if they were alien beings!!! (my other kitties arrived or were born about 1-2 years before he passed)

Any way, not much in the workout planned. My house is such chaos that I might have to really concentrate on getting things cleaned up and put away. Every room I look at has some pile of yuck in it. Plus the wood for my floors is sitting in the dining room, so I might be tearing up carpet this weekend in the hall way and preparing for installation of the floor, woo hooo. (like I didn't have enough things to do.)

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Evening!:)

You know, I'm always amazed at the projects that you, Rhea, and you, Jeanette, do on your home. It's almost more than I can do to just keep my home clean each month. Ripping up the carpets and putting in a wood floor. Oh, my gosh. Did you actually do it, Rhea?

Am glad to hear that the air is getting a little cleaner. And I do hope that we here in So. CA don't have too many fires this year (knock on wood).

My rotation this week is still cardio and leg work -- my hand is still in a cast. Not sure exactly what I'll do -- it might be a return of CTX or I might go on and do other things -- might do kickboxing as a way to getting back into upper body, also. I'll just post as I go, I think, cause I'm just not sure.

Jeanette, glad to see that you did low max -- always a favorite -- what are you doing for the 4th?

Rhea, yes, Sammy is a wonderful cat -- he;s black and white -- when he was only 4 years old, he got bit by another cat in the head and got feline aids from that cat. We deal with it -- but his health is always on the edge, I'm afraid.

It was a long day today -- spent the day walking the dogs (separately) and then house work all day long. We are putting in a garden and it looks like we'll be here for the 4th, digging up our yard to get in this garden. I'm just glad that I'm home -- I'll soon be heading back to FL however to finish the course -- I'll be going on it as full time as possible with the idea of getting done fast and getting home fast.

Anyway, take care, have a super day tomorrow and terrific workouts.:7

Good morning~!

Well, no workouts this weekend as anticipated. What was not anticipated was the darn refrigerator deciding to completely quit working. So I had a fun weekend trying to figure out what was wrong, try to fix (it seems to be stuck on the defrost cycle) and then having to completely clean it out and find coolers, extra room in the downstairs freezer, etc for all the food. DH and I are now under the command (from me) to eat from our freezer and stop buying on sale, we have way too much food in storage)

So I did not get to the carpets this weekend since my other things had to be done first (at least that is what I told myself.) I did get the closets gone through and clothes put away to be either garage-saled or over to Good Will.

My eating and workouts need to get in line. Pants this morning, yuck, not a good feeling. So time to eat much cleaner and cut out that bad junky stuff. I'm going to have to do better on our road trips to the bay area. Lots more veggies and fruit.

Karen - how is that garden going? I might try to get some tomatoes in, but I'm not sure if it is too late. I guess I could just buy a bigger plant from the nursery.

Jeanette - did you camp this weekend? It sure got smokey again this Saturday. I wonder how the fires are doing and if they are somewhat in control of them now.

Hi Janie - I think you are still in Vegas.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

Wow, Rhea, I am always amazed at all you get done around your house. Actually I think it's a good idea to have alot of food on hand -- in case of an emergency, you could at least sit and survive for a while. When I was growing up, it was common for most households to have about a 1 year supply of food in storage, something we don;t see much nowadays. I know I;ve never really thought in terms of storage.

Sounds like you did a great job. One thing I know about me is that if it;s in the kitchen, it will get eaten so I try to keep those things I shouldn;t eat out of the kitchen -- not always easy to do, either.

Jeanette, did you camp this weekend? Any great plans for the 4th?

Janie, I do think you're still in Vegas.

Yeah, we are getting in a garden -- it;s slow as we have to rip up our front yard, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

Oh, and Jeanette, I make beef jerky -- marinade it in wine and soy sauce and then dry it in the dehydrator. It turns out pretty good and will last for years, actually.

Well, today was IMAX2 -- 8 intervals -- I;m building up to more intense workouts. Plan some sort of Kickbox workout tomorrow -- it;s the only way I can think of to get in some upper body right now.

Have a super day everyone!:7
