KK's August Rotation

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!:)

Great news. We found our cat -- but only after we hired a pet psychic -- she calls herself an animal communicator. Still it took me all day to find him. So my exercise this weekend was walking around the neighborhood over and over, calling for Midnight.

But we found him -- he was happy to be found. Yea!

So glad that you and hubby had some good time together, though I, too, wish it could have been more.

Sigh, everything is so much better now that our cat is back.

Anyway: Rotation

Monday: IMAX 2 -- cause I love it

Tuesday: ME -- cause I love it, too.

Wednesday: cardio and stretch -- will try to up the cardio time.

Thursday: MuscleMax

Friday: Sprints outside unless it's too hot -- and if it's too hot, IMAX3 or LowMax

Saturday: Bootcamp or KPC

Sunday: Off

Oh, also just got a tape on exercises for the face that's supposed to be like a face lift -- will let you know if it works...:7

Have a great day -- and terrific workouts everyone.

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Good news Karen, hooray!!!! So glad you got your kitty back! Made my day to read this.

I did Hardcore Challenge this morning. Good workout too. Still following the fatloss rotation. Tomorrow will be Lowmax. Yesterday did a tough bike ride with the guys. I did okay, even though I can't always keep up with them. You really need to ride with faster people to get faster yourself.

Yesterday my son cleaned out my horse barn with the new tractor/backhoe and then we hooked up the disc and I disced the arena that was full of weeds. Looks much better. A very good day all around for me.

Good workouts, everyone. Hope to hear from you Rhea and Natalie.

Again, Karen, I'm so happy for you!

Jeanette

Hi all!

Wow, Karen so glad to here that you found him! Where was he? Was he stuck someplace too scared to come out? My older cat used to do that.
Also, are you driving to all those places in the tour? Isn't that very tiring? Wow.

Jeanette, is our heat ever going to end? I think that it has totally depleted me. I have no "feeling" to want to workout, very unusal for me, I'm the cardio queen. I normally love a good sweat. So it is easier stuff for me and catch up at the house. I've been trying to do about 15 minutes of weeding a day to see if I can actually gain ground on them. hahaha, I think the weeds are still winning.

oops, gotta run to court....

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!:)

Isn't it great that we got our kitty back? I can't tell you how good this feels. He had been sleeping on top of one of our guest's car -- the guest didn't notice the cat and Midnight didn't wake up when our guest opened the door and turned on the engine.

Anyway Henry -- he was our guest -- went to a top sign just up the street from us and heard 3 flops and a scratch - today my neighbor said he had seen Midnight sleeping on top of the car Thursday eve. So Midnight was disoriented and couldn't find his way home and he was almost an entire block away -- someplace he'd never been or seen -- so he had walked on a bit and had holed up in a yard about 1 1/2 blocks from us -- like I said, we hunted for him all day on Sunday -- and also on Saturday and Friday, too.

Last night Midnight woke up three times in the night crying -- each time I got up and picked him up and brought him to bed with us -- and he calmed down -- it was traumatic for him, too.

Anyway, sounds like a really productive day, Jeanette -- how cool of your son to clean out the stables. And Rhea -- weeding sounds good too -- you don't have an air conditioner -- I know I can't do cardio when it's so hot out -- I have to exercise in air-conditioning or get up really early before it gets too hot.

So did IMAX2 today -- went really well and have had a relaxing, productive day today. Not through with the revisions, but they're coming along better.

Have some terrific workouts everybody and a great day.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

It was Lowmax for me today. Good workout. Always makes me sweat big time. Yesterday I emailed Sarah (Imafitnessfreak) on this forum for some help with nutrition. She's so sweet, she emailed me back some info and calories that my body needs to maintain and calories I need to lose weight, but in a staggered fashion. She estimated I need 1938 to maintain while doing the exercise I do and 1356 for a 30% deficit or 1550 for a 20% deficit. Under the staggering principle, you would only do a 30% deficit for 3 days, then go back to the 1938 calories for 1 day and then back to the 30% deficit and repeat, so the body doesn't think you are starving it. She also recommended I track my calories on Fitday.com, which I'm doing. Boy, I was eating way more calories and fat than I thought.

She does a 40% carb, 40% protein and 20% fat combo or 50% carb, 30% protein and 20% fat, depends on the person what works best. The fitday program tracks it all for you. It's pretty amazing. Wow, my eating for yesterday had the fat so high, I'm embarrassed to say what it was. Guess what, my creamer for my coffee didn't help a whole lot. Now I'm measuring the tbs. (5) of them that I have each day.

I'm going to try this way and see if it works. Many people on this forum rave about it.

Anyway, I've rambled enough. Have a low key mtn. bike ride tonite with my uncle visiting from Washington so that should be fun.

Good workouts everyone!

Jeanette

Good morning!

No workouts for me, class yesterday. I'm going to try to squeeze one in today. Since it is finally getting a bit cooler....45 this a.m. yippee! I'm going to start taking a walk at lunchtime.

Jeanette, I used fitday.com too, I succombed and bought the program for the computer at home. Completely different then the free one. I haven't quite become familiar with all the changes, but I do like the fact that you can change the serving sizes, which was very limited on the free version. I'm patiently awaiting the hardcopy of the program so I can put it on my laptop here at work. Will track my food better that way.

Have a great workout everyone!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!:)

That was a very sweet thing for Sarah to do -- aren't these sites just wonderful? It's interesting how she eats. And I'll have to check out the Fitday.com program -- interesting, Rhea, that you knew about it, too. Such interesting stuff.

Just finished these two books, THE METABOLIC TYPING DIET and Dr. Mercola's TOTAL HEALTH. In the Metabolic Typing diet book, he goes into why one has to eat for his/her own metabolism -- at www.mercola.com, you can take a free metabolism test to find out what kind of metabolism one has. There's 3 classifications -- the carb type, the protein type and the missed type.

I'm definitely the protein type -- and so I started doing the diet -- just to see what happens -- and the most interesting thing is that since I've been doing this, I find I'm not so hungry between meals anymore -- usually I can't go longer than 2 hours without food -- but doing this diet -- eating 40% protein, 30% fat and 30 % carbs -- I'm just not as hungry as usual, which is good.

I wonder if Sarah's diet is anything like that since she also put her diet into the same sort of catagories. Anyway, it will be interesting to see.

Rhea, how did your workout go? Were you able to get one in? It's slightly cooler here, as well, but not by much -- still doing my workouts inside due to heat.

Well, Jeanette, hope you have a wonderful time with your uncle. My deadline for the revisions is up tomorrow -- whew! I have 75 more pages to get done and then get the book off. It'll be good when it's done, that's for sure.

Oh, it as ME for me today, another favorite for me. And tomorrow is cardio and stretch -- a day I always look forward to.

Have some terrific workouts everyone.

Food diary:

Before workout -- green drink for carbs for energy

Breakfast: Bacon and 2 eggs -- had too much bacon -- probably 6 or more pieces

Lunch: Homemade protein bar, cottage cheese (3 spoonfuls) 4-5 walnuts with raw monteray jake cheese and of course 3 scoops of homemade ice cream...

Supper: 3/4 homemade protein bar, 3 beef ribs with steamed spinach.

Good morning Karen, Rhea, and Natalie:

It was Cardio & Weights for me this morning. Should have been HC Extreme workout but DH and I will go and run tonite, so didn't want to overdo it. Been missing my weight workouts too. Bike riding was good yesterday with Uncle George. Only about 45 minute ride, but it was enough for him. He's used to riding on a bike path and didn't really care for the jarring on a trail so we cut it short.

Karen, I think what works for Sarah is 50% Carbs, 30% protein, 20% fat or sometimes 40-30-30, just depends on what your body needs. I will probably need the 50% carbs due to the bike riding. The protein is the harder one for me to get enough of. Am eating fat free cottage cheese with an apple sliced up in it right now. Pretty yummy. I've resisted weighing myself for the last 2 days. We'll see what happens. Definitely like the Fitday program. Will have to do the mercola test on line.

Rhea, how is the non-free Fitday program different from the free one?

Hope the workouts are good today, and life in general!

Jeanette

Good morning Karen, Jeanette and Natalie..

Natalie - are you back yet? How's it been going?

Jeanette, the non-free one you can put on any computer ( I wanted to use my lap-top at work) and it is actually a different format, more Windows type viewing. (if that makes any sense) I can change the serving amount from 1 to .25 or .75 or whatever. I didn't like the free one because I couldn't put in that I only ate 1/2 an apple. The only thing I've discovered is that I can't back up and restore the information the way I want to. I wanted to be able to write at work and restore at home. I guess I just have to work with what it does.

Karen, sounds like you are doing a Zone type diet. I took the test and came out to be a protein person too. 40/30/30, but I think a tad more protein than carbs works better for me. Especially if I have eaten the higher glycemic (That has to be spelled wrong, but having brain fades at the moment) foods as my carbs.

Well, gotta run. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

Did a combination of Kickmax combos and KPC combos. Just didn't feel like a real tough cardio today. It was fun anyway. DH and I ran last night for 1/2 hour. Nice to get out and he is improving greatly.

Also, since tracking on fitday, I've lost 2 pounds and my BF% is down by 1% (not that I really trust the scale), but I do feel leaner. One more day of restricted calories and then tomorrow will be back to the higher level of calories (1900 or so), then repeat. I'd like to lose a couple more pounds eventually, but lean out too.

Rhea, thanks for the info on the fitday program. I'll have to check into it.

Karen, hope you got a chance to workout. How's the raw food eating going? When do you leave on your trip? Know you are probably super busy.

Natalie, please post when you can.

Must run for now. We're going camping tomorrow afternoon. Will be wood cutting (yuck) along with the camping, so must get stuff packed. Take care everyone, will check in tomorrow after my workout.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!:)

Natalie, I'm echoing the others -- are you back yet? Any good stories? We miss you.

Jeanette & Rhea -- sorry I missed posting yesterday -- I've been working on these revisions -- which I just finished this morning and am currently printing up the manuscript. Yea! Now, onto getting ready to go on tour.

Am trying to hook up the DVD player for the new computer -- it's giving us trouble -- so that I can do workouts on the road -- just ordered the DVD's of IMAX2 and ME -- when I thought about it -- I couldn't stand not have ME or IMAX2 with me -- even though I won't have a step with me. Actually I will take my high step.

Anyway, your Uncle George sounds nice, Jeanette. And I'm so in awe of you -- going camping this weekend -- sounds really, really fun. I'll be preparing to go on tour. Plus, getting ready for the release of the new book -- have a radio interview tomorrow at 6:30AM and another one tonight -- at 6 PM. Whew!

Oh, Rhea, I do better on a higher protein count, as well, but I do need a few carbs -- when I don't get them, the body lets me know. Those 2-3 pounds I put on at National come and go and come and go -- so I really need to get myself down to tacks and take them off and keep them off. That program sounds really interesting, Jeanette -- I'm going to look into it when I get home.

Okay, so I will be able to keep in touch while on the road -- I'll have my new computer with me and so will be able to log on -- I may miss some days -- we've a pretty intense schedule -- but if I wasn't able to log on now and again, I know I'd miss you.

Okay, well, best get these revisions finished up printing and then into the post...

Have a great day -- terrific workouts and a fabulous holiday weekend.

Morning Karen, Rhea and Natalie:

My day off today and will be getting ready to go camping. Did Bootcamp this morning. Fun workout and the Terminators aren't nearly as hard as they used to be.

Karen, I know yesterday my body needed more carbs before I headed off to horse class in the evening so I ate a bowl of oatmeal with sugar free syrup. Hit the spot! No peanut butter for me for all this week. That was doing me in!

Weight was down another 1/2 pound this morning and my thighs are now at 19 1/2" so I know the fat is coming off! June of 2004 they were 21". Could be the once a week running is helping too, also the freestyle I did last month. Anyway, today I cycle my calories back up to 1950, so planned out and printed the menu for today, to include camping fare as that's what we'll be doing tonite. Seems like I'm eating constantly too and I feel hungry in a good way. It's when I never felt hungry that my metabolism was so slow or I was eating too much or something. Anyway, so far so good!

Have tons to do before we leave this afternoon. Good workouts everyone and have a safe Labor Day weekend.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie!

Well, I get ready to go on tour soon and guess what? I got my DVD player working on my new computer -- so I'm going to be able to take my Cathe DVD's. Sigh... Now if I could only figure out how to take the step -- oh, well, one thing at a time.

Congrats on losing that weight -- I need to check out this site -- I feel like I've been eating all day today -- am afraid to check the scale tomorrow...

Oh, will post a new rotation for September. Have fun on the camping trip -- it really sounds like fun -- and time alone with hubby...

Have a great one.
