Kim Catrell is Brittish?!?!!!!!!

Okay- SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! I'm currently watching yet another Masterpiece Classic- Any Human Heart with Matthew MacFayden (yummy!), Jim Broadbend amongst others....also, Kim Catrell- Samantha from Sex and the City is Brittish!! Apparently born in Liverpool. Whodathunkit!?? And apparently Gillian Anderson from the X-Files is also Brittish. Wow!

Not to seem to ignorant to the true Cathe-Brits... I'm really surpirsed - pleasantly surprised since I am 50% Brit! (1/4 Irish-ish and 1/4 German-ish).

How cool is that?? I mean my heritage of course, not that Kim C. is also a Brit! LOL!!

I think she was born there but raised here. British by birth but not culturally.

She was born in Britian but she was raised in Canada on Vancouver Island. I can't remember what city it was.

She was on that program where they trace your ancestry and yes she is definitely British. You got to meet some of her relatives.

~sigh~ I wish I had been born in Canada, that would have opened up my employment opportunities because in the film industry the Canadians can work here but us average US citizens don't have the reciprocal courtesy. We are not 'under the crown' which is a reference to countries that had been colonies but did not have a big family feud in 1774. If I had been born in Canada I could have worked in film productions there, the UK, India, Australia, and New Zealand. But, nope, I wasn't and yeah I'm a weensy bit bitter. I hold my mother responsible for that one.

And Jennifer Ehle (Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice opposite the gorgeous Colin Firth - my favorite movie of all time) is not at all British !!!!!!!!

She was born in North Carolina.... I was shocked to learn that !!!!

On a related note: I'm always surprised (though perhaps no longer) when I find that many TV actors are British or Australian, and talk with an accent when they're not on the show:

Ana Torv and the guy who plays Walter Bishop on "Fringe"
The guy who plays "House"
The star of "The Mentalist" ...
Many more

It's like another British invasion!
