KickMax and KPC back to back days?

Cathe and educated crowd,

What's your opinion on doing these two workouts on consecutive days? Yes, or no? My upper back is a wee bit sore from doing one, so can I do the other workout tomorrow or should I not, so as not to work the same (sore) muscles?

Thanks, in advance.

I always think it's better to not do the same type of workout (step, kickboxing, etc.) two days in a row, to avoid overtraining the same muscles and repetitive stress to the same joints and muscles. YMMV, but I'd do a different type of workout today. (Though if I had my druthers, there are times when I'd do kickboxing every day...or step every day....but I follow my own advice and don't;-) )

I tend to agree with Kathryn. Since I have had sciatica, I pay alot of attention to how I feel and modify my workouts accordingly. I did do 3 kickbox days back to back and started feeling the pain in the butt which means that I have to back off before problems develop.

Like Kathryn and Sheila have noted, it's so tempting sometimes to do a beloved video or style of exercising every day, but it's so dangerous. I try never to do stepping or kickboxing on consecutive days. And I don't like strength training the same body part two days in a row. Just too likely to lead to injury or long-term problems.

Give that upper back a break and a rest.

It may be safer to do different types of workouts on alternating days, but I always do whatever workout I feel like doing each day. I've been doing step almost daily for the last 20 years, and I've never had an injury. I actually did Kick Max on Wednesday and Cardio Kicks yesterday. Plus, I used to teach step aerobics 5 days a week when I was in my late 20s and never had an injury. I always just listen to my body and do whatever feels right.

I know Lydia. I guess I'm just lucky. I'm now 43 and I've been exercising since I was 17 with no injuries. (Knock on wood.)
