since i'm thinking of taking a break from weight training, i wanted to know if you all thought kickboxing would be a good way to stay lean? the punching works arms and the kicks works legs. i was thinking of doing kickmax, KPC, tae bo get ripped advanced 1 and 2, and turbojam with the weighted gloves. what do you think? i think it would provide both cardio and strength and lean me out a bit.

Kickboxing will definitely keep you lean. If you keep a mental focus on depth and resistance your arms and legs will certainly stay strong. I get some really nice DOMS in my arms and lats doing punching drills without weighted glove so I think you'll be great. PowerStrike 2 has some fantastic arm drills. I always imagine that I am punching and kicking through something and get as deep into my legs as I can with jump kicks. Have fun!

this looks like a good split laura. may i ask what you are doing now and why you are switching to this?

Kariev, I thought you recently said you were switching to NO cardio? I may be mixing you up w/ someone else though...if it was you, how did that work? I am assuming not too well since you are taking a lifting break?? Give me an update...

i noticed that i was not as lean as i was when i did cardio. now i'm hoping to just keep my lean look with some kickboxing as i seemed to have burnt myself out with weights. so far i'm enjoying this and now my abs are back:D

Good for you. I had wondered how that was working. I have to do cardio too, whether in circuit cycles or kickboxing. I can only run when I am "feeling it".
Good luck.
