Kickboxing Suggestions

I'm looking for other kickboxing workouts which are similar to KPC. I tend to favor more fun kickboxing instead of the "I'm in fight and want to kick your butt using correct form" ones. I also love the step portions of C&W and Low Max where there are kickboxing moves, so I'm not against a step workout w/kickboxing moves.

Any suggestions on workouts by other instructors?

Would the Turbo Jam workouts have this same flavor?
What about the original Taebo workouts?

Thanks :)

I think Amy Bento's In The Ring is lots of fun. I like Tracey Stahle's Strike Zone, but it is definitely "I'm in a fight" kind of workout.

I feel like you about kickboxing, only maybe more so. The only one I actually like is KPC. A good friend told me I would not like Amy's In the Ring. I do have Absolute Kickboxing by Kim Spreen. It's kind of fun for a change, because she uses a 9-lb body bar for some neat intervals. I don't do it a lot though.

I checked out the Absolute Kickboxing clip a bit ago, and I was turned off by the body bar part. I guess I'm just looking for another KPC! (Cathe, are you listening?!?!)

Do you have any other kickboxing workouts, since we seem to like the same style?

You might wnat to check out Kelly Coffe-Myers's Step-Boxing -- she has two -- I enjoy the second one more than the first. I don't think it is as intense as KPC though. HTH, Deb

Clothesminded - no, I don't have any more. I got rid of them! I just can't get into that type of workout. I kept KPC because it is fun, and I kept Absolute KB for the variety.

Is there a reason why you want to do KB, even though you don't like it? My personal opinion is that if I don't like a type of workout, then there's no point in making myself suffer. I know there's a lot of talk about the importance of variety and cross training, but oh well. My step, elliptical and occasional walks will have to do!

I'm a TaeBo junkie - for the older Advanced Live videos - but if you're not looking to focus on correct form (why not, by the way? You can seriously injusre yourself with bad kickboxing form...) TaeBo will not be the way to go.

Billy spends a lot of time focusing on form so that you don't injure yourself, and you you get the max muscle focus out of your workouts.

I'm not a fan of pretty much anything he's done since Bootcamp in '04, but anytime I need to get myself back into shape (like now, having just had a baby) - that will be my go-to to get my body back.

I DO enjoy kickboxing. I just don't really like the ones where it's all instructional. I'd rather just get right into it. I feel that I know enough about form to not injure myself. That's why I like KPC so much. It has just a bit of form pointers and building up of the moves, but not enough to bore me. I can't do too many step workouts because twisting moves really bother my knees. So, kickboxing seems to be easier on them. Strange with all the jumps, but it does feel more stationary than step workouts.

I will check out the TaeBo advanced live ones and the other workouts suggested.

Thanks so much.
