Kick Max for the first time today

Hi everyone. I did Kick Max for the first time today. I must say that I liked the combos. I like the way that Cathe breaks down the combos and I only tripped over my feet a couple of times.

Now the blast. I haven't done any of Cathe's iMax workouts and so I am new to the whole blast thing. Holy cow. That was hard. I couldn't do all of it and just did what I could. I guess that is enough for now.

Are these blasts something that takes practice to master?

Also the leg drills are great. My butt already hurts. I can't wait to do this workout again.

Hi Karin, I've been doing Kick Max once weekly for at least 6 weeks now and I still can't do the blast without a LOT of marching in place. The first time I did it, however, I couldn't even get through the first blast. I was in pretty bad shape. Now, 6 weeks later, I can get through the entire blast with modifications. I'm not sure I'll ever make it without modifying, but I'm not going to give up. I've come a long way.
 
I was lukewarm about this workout the first few times I did it, but now it's one of my faves. The blasts are killer, but keep practicing. They do become easier. I also love breaking this workout up. When I want a lighter cardio day I do just the punch/kick combinations. I'll add the blasts if I want more of a challenge, but I've also done them as a quick calorie burner. The leg conditioning drills are great as is. I've been doing them a couple times a week and have noticed increased flexibility and tone. They've also helped my form tremendously.

This is a very versatile DVD!
 
Hi Karin,

I wasn't a big Kickmax fan either when I first got it. However, I really enjoy doing it now and need to add it in more often. The blasts can be challenging, as they are meant to be. You will get through them all with practice. I'm a huge fan of the Imaxes, especially Imax 3 which I think helps a lot with the blasts in Kickmax.

I love Kick Max and Imax 2. These are the videos I reach for when I don't feel like working out because I think they are fun and challenging, so once I start them I don't want to stop! You definitely have to work up to finishing the blasts. But just think how great it'll be when you complete them without any mod's!!

Every time Cathe comes out with a new "blast" (whether it be Boot Camp, any of the Imaxes, or the challenge segment of Kick Max) I am unable to complete portions of it without modifying some (or all!) or it. Just give it time. Commit to doing that section at least once a week. I did the Kick Max blast segment twice a week for a month and I can now add it onto the end of another workout and though it is still challenging for me - I can complete it without any modifications.

You can do it!!!
 
Thanks for all the feedback. I feel better about not being able to get through the blasts the first time. I guess that practice makes perfect, right???
