Kick It Up--- May

I dragged my rear end out of bed this morning to do STS Ch/Sh/Tri's before work. I'm really liking Meso 2. She tweaks things a bit each week to promote increasing your strength. Diet as always, needs work, but I'm not stressed over it anymore and that's a huge relief!

Off to work....

Hi ladies - I too found a way to get up early this morning (thank goodness) and did the first segment of Timesaver again. went good. since i haven't done weights in a long time, I did 8 lb dumbells on the chest/triceps section and it went fine.

Tomorrow I plan to either do another timesaver segment or perhaps low impact circuit.

Have a great day! Kelly

hi ladies! I had a mixed doubles match last night that left me sore this am - so didn't get up when the alarm went off (Bad). But I do have a regular doubles match tonight so I will get some more cardio in today! hope you all are doing well amd having a good day!

Linda - like the inspirational messages. thanks

My legs and knees were a bit sore today so I put in a rest day today, was supposed to be leg day. I'll have to time to make it up next week since I dont work on Monday!

Have a good weekend if I don't post tomorrow...heading to a baseball game right after work tomorrow.

Hello, hello, hello!

Timesaver #5 yesterday, #3 today, why? because that's the way uh-huh uh-huh I like it uh-huh uh-huh :D (I know, cheesy) I think we're going to hunt down a parade this weekend & have a picnic. Hope it doesn't get too ugly hot.

Sad news, i think one of the cats is gone, gone. Hasn't been around for days, probably got hit, hopefully it wasn't at the hands of an animal hater. the bright side, another from the original litter last year came around, one I thought had bought it last year down the street at an intersection, apparently not.

Don't know how we're going to get that one & fix it? another saga for another time, I guess. Have a good time Stace, tennis sounds fun Kelly!

Have a great weekend, get outside, get some sun have some fun!

Hi girls!

Rest day, but not really, I'll be doing something today. Reading a book on sports nutrition & Kathy Smith's Feed Muscle Shrink Fat, both I pickd up at the library last week. There's a food log in the Smith book, I may use something like that when I start, it's similar to one I used from a program I tried some 8 years ago. The sports nutrition book was an eye-opener, it was hard to read that athletes suffer the same problems other dieters face with weight loss, body image, etc.

I never followed a regular exercise program even though I played many sports and enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activites. These past months have probably been the first ones ever that I've consistently stuck to any regular exercise, outside of active jobs. Going to persue the nutritional info to pick something that will suit my activity level & goals. Also had a little culture shock when viewing clips from STS. Now I hail from Muscletown USA so you'd think I'd have a clue about that....whew! ;)

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, Thank the troops, remember those who served & died.

Linda

Hi Ladies! The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend. No specific plans here other than to get outside! I woke up this morning with a killer headache, but it's starting to subside now. I plan on doing STS Back/Biceps this morning and may tack on abs or a short cardio. Linda, I was just looking at some sports nutrition books on amazon this morning, what a coincidence. Kelly...tennis is a sport I think I could get into if there was a court somewhere nearby that didnt require country club fees!!

Changed my mind. Since I hadnt worked out for 2 days in a row, decided to do cardio instead. Wasnt sweat drenching, but walked 6 miles. Tomorrow will be back/biceps/abs.

Heck Stace six miles is six miles! eighty pages into the book I feel like I could've wrote part of it, I guess over twenty years, if you read enough, you're bound to read a bunch of the same stuff.

You said once you had about all the diet books known to man, so I'll bet you know exactly what I mean. The nutrition book is sports nutrition for women, haven't really delved into that one yet.

Have a great day!

Linda

Oh, almost forgot How does the elliptical compare to running on the treadmill as far as cardio intensity goes? or was that Donna that used the elliptical, Kelly? How'd you do with the tennis?

I did Meso 2 Back/Biceps today, had a decent workout. I was able to increase my weights slightly on barbell curls, though couldnt finish the whole set. I did one-arm dumbell rows for back with a 30 lb dumbell for the first time too! I've been wanting to work on my "boy" pushups for awhile but keep forgetting, lol. So I did pushups after the Meso workout and was able to do a whopping 6 pushups on my toes with excellent form. I'm going to have to do this on my cardio day or do it BEFORE I lift weights I think! At one point in time I could barely do 2 so 6 is a big improvement for me.

I'm ready for our VEG-OUT check-in in June! My husband's looking forward to cleaning up his diet as well now that he's almost done with the second month of P90X and still going strong!

Have a good holiday weekend!!

Hi Stace , Kelly

Woo hoo Stace, on the db's & pushups! Sadly, I'm still doing girlie ones, another challenge! I know it feels great to accomplish those things you couldn't do before, and it's inspiring to read, coolness plus!

Weigh in gave me my lowest today, only 1.9 lb for the month, I'll take it. Bra shopping is now a personal nightmare  go figure...everybody 's a sale shopper! Boyfriend wants a new string trimmer, he's as tired of hearing about bras as I am of tools. Whatcha up to Kelly? Look for the new thread tomorrow!

Hey Stace could you make it a Veg IN thread instead of a Veg Out thread, or think of something clever? 'cause I can't be zoning out this month, no, no, no....It's more like crack the whip! No more slackin' !!!

Have a great day girls!
Linda

Congrats on the weigh-in Linda!! I havent weighed myself since I started not dieting. I can pretty much tell that I havent lost or gained too much in either direction, don't know if that's good or bad!

I'm doing some sort of workout today, just not sure what other than cardio. Today is usually my rest day but I took an unplanned rest day last week and since Im not working today, thought I'd add in an extra workout day this week. Today is going to be something fun though, well as fun as a workout can get!

I'll think of a new thread name. I have a few ideas I'm tossing around!
