How do you work them into a weekly rotation with traditional weight lifting?

I took the plunge today and purchased some kettlebells and this new workout
http://www.ontheedgefitness.com/videos.html

I was wondering if anyone could give me more kbell workouts to look at, and tell me how to work them into a workout rotation.

I just got this one too and it looks fantastic! I previewed it yesterday and want to do it soon. I've just had an awful headache the last few days :(

Have you seen the art of strength workouts? They are also well loved: http://www.artofstrength.com/dvdworkout/tabid/182/Default.aspx

The one on the bottom(kettlebell your way..) is a new version of providence just with the woman in it and it has a tutorial section.

Hi Cynthia,

The workout dvds by Art of Strength are fantastic!! I have Providence and Newport and I have Firepower on my birthday list.

I don't really have a set rotation right now because I doing lots of workouts outside. Most of these workouts include kettlebells. Right now I'm getting 1 day of traditional weight workout and do kettlebells about 3 or 4 days a week.

Hope you enjoy kettlebells. I love them!

Jess,

I can sympathize with you about the headaches. I've had one everyday this week. I just had to take an imitrex.

Thanks for the link and the suggestion. I viewed a clip of the "kettlebell your way" and I think it would be a great place for me to begin. I ordered it:D I would like the 2 disc set for beginners, but will have to wait for that one.

Let me know how you like the Over the Edge workout. Lauren is so adorable! I can see how kbells help build strong abs. I can't wait to begin!!!

I went for the bling on the kbells. I bought the vinyl colored ones from perform better.

Jane, do you do kbells every other day or can you do them back to back?
Anthony from Art of Strength is a cutie! I have a thing for guys with shaved heads. I won't have any problems following his workouts!

I usually workout with kettlebells every other day but there are times when I do swings almost every day. I love swings because they work your whole body so I'll usually tack on swings after my other workouts.

Thanks Jane. I will add on swings after my cardio. It should help with my form. I'm pretty excited about this:D I like change. I hope I'm good at it!

Hi Cynthia,

I just ordered that dvd so I'm hoping I like it too. I have all the AoS w/o's and a few more KB dvds that I enjoy. They are addicting. Watch out. ;)

I think swings are an excellent way to add on to any w/o. I also think that you could go light on your wt and make the w/o more cardio based than strength when you are also doing traditional lifting. I always mix them up. I might do a total body traditional w/o on Monday, step w/o on Tuesday and a KB w/o on Wednesday. :) I

variety.

There are all kinds of ways you can work them in and I'm sure you'll discover that soon enough. :D
