Good morning!

Deanie – That was a hard set of swings...15 seconds isn’t much rest. ITA that when you have a big number set like 50 that it’s easy to let it affect you mentally. Hope your blister heals up for you today.

Farmer – Great job with your swings! Tell your husband he doesn’t know what he’s talking about where workouts are concerned. I see plenty of half-assed workouts at the gym.

Andilynn – Hope you had fun with STS!

Marcy – I have no idea what the Squeeze workout is, but my PT had me doing clam/bridge movements during rehab. Just reading about 5+ minutes of that on each side made my butt cramp.;):)

Jane – I loved the mish-mosh you posted. Did you name the Barfie? Hope you had a good run yesterday.

I’m currently at a two-day seminar, so didn’t get to work out yesterday. I’m going to do some Tabata squats, pushups and situps in my hotel room this morning.

My gym workout on Tuesday was:
3 rounds
10 burpees
20 situps

Then I did a 5x5 set of barbell overhead squats with just the oly bar.
Then power cleans. I worked up to 5x3 sets at 90lbs. I’m still feeling these a little in my shoulders and traps.

Good Morning!

Today was an unscheduled rest day since I couldn't get my butt out of bed and had no desire to work out. I guess I should have tried to do a lighter workout but my mind was saying I had to do ETK or nothing and I chose nothing!

Gayle - It's good to see you're getting a workout in while traveling. Good work on the squats!

Yes, my butt was cramping a bit yesterday but I'm fine today. Her other Squeeze workout, Lower Body Challenge, had me sore for days.

Deanie - Is your blister any better today?

I'm not sure what I'm doing today. I'm running in a 10K Saturday so I'm probably just going to do some swings and abs.

Gayle - The boot camp place I went to named the Barfies. I think Anthony does them in Firepower. Have fun at your seminar.

Good morning to all!
Yesterday was my first go at STS and so far I love it! Wow! Thats alot of pushups! I'm afraid I was dropping to my knees by the end of the dvd, something to work toward I guess! But since using kettlebells I've gotten much stronger and can do big girl pushups for a much longer period! Today will be cardio , I'm undecided on what yet , but after doing lomax last week I think I need to add that in more, I forgot what a good lower body workout it is!

Deanie- hope your blister is better today!

Good Afternoon everyone!

I got a really late start today. Last night there was a small fire in the synagogue where I work/my kids go to Hebrew school. They came home early from Hebrew, and an email was sent out that nursery school would be canceled thursday as of "now" and to check email for updates. Well, I checked at 9pm at night and there was no update, so I thought school was closed:D:D yeah! free fun day!... So today I sleep in, get my workout clothes on, come down to say goodmorning to DH and my DH says there is an email that school IS OPEN TODAY:mad::mad::( So instead of working out after the kids get off to school, I had to workout after work (today i work till noon). Which is so hard for me, I have a hard time getting motivated after I've showered and gotten dressed for the day......but I am happy to report....I did workout after work! I did 4DS kickbox only! It was fun!!:) I also felt my form was dead on! (thank you kettlebells) I love kickboxing and can't wait for the new MMA cardio!!

tomorrow I would like to do a short cardio combining:
jumprope
box jumps
ropes
.....any ideas???

Gayle::::90 pounds on power cleans:eek:!! You go girl!! enjoy your seminar. What do you do?

Marcy::: enjoy your unscheduled rest day! Do you still go dancing once a week? what day?

Andilynn::: I like the new avitar picture. Glad you like STS, I preordered, but cancelled once I found kettlebells.....I really hate working my legs only for an hour!!:p and I think you do that once a week with STS!

....thanks for asking guys, my blister is getting better, and I think not doing kb's today and tomorrow will help:)

Deanie - Sorry about your messed up day today. I'm glad your blister is getting better. Glad you got your workout in. I still go dancing once a week, usually on Saturdays but my instructor recently started Tuesday night classes again so I might start going again on Tuesdays. I'm not going this week though. I promised DH I wouldn't go since I was away all day last week on Saturday at Peach State (which is a dance weekend where lots of choreographers and instructors come to teach). I had an awesome time. Can't wait for next year. The great part is it's only a half hour away so it doesn't cost me hotel and airfare.

Andilynn - Glad you like STS. Are you going to do it as a rotation or just do workouts here and there?

Hey Deanie,

Here is a couple of ideas for your workout tomorrow.

1. Tabata

2. You could do 3 or 4 rounds rounds timing each exercise (like a circuit workout ~40 seconds work/20 seconds rest)

3. You do do a certain number of reps/rounds. For example:
5 Rounds of:
100 jump rope
20 Box Jumps
40 seconds of ropes

Deanie - Basically it was ballroom and line dancing. I took one line dance class. I also took 3 West Coast Swing classes, 2 Two-Step Classes, 1 Nightclub 2 class and 1 Hustle class and 1 Cha Cha class. All for $55! After each class, they filmed what each instructor had taught and made a DVD out of it. I might wind up ordering it so I don't forget what I learned. Too bad Cathe's DVDs can't be made that quickly!

That is fun! love the hustle. When my DS was in 5th grade, he was in the variety show and at the end for the finale all the 5th graders did the hustle! I helped teach it!! yea, it would be great if Cathe could film that fast! LOL

Jane's got great ideas. :)

If you add in a couple more exercises, you can do a variation of "Fight Gone Bad". Something like:

3 Rounds
Spend 1 minute on each exercise with no rest in between exercises (move quickly from one to another) and rest 1 minute between rounds.
* Jump rope
* Kettlebell Swing
* Box jump
* Kettlebell High Pull/Flip to Squat
* Ropes
 
Jane::: can't believe I missed your suggestions earlier today!!!:eek: Really out of sync today!! see what happens to me when I don't workout in the morning!?? LOL...thanks so much! I will definitely be doing one tomorrow!

Gayle::: I like the "fight gone bad" - but I want to stay away from kb's tomorrow so my blister is okay for Sat. ETK. I did copy it though, can't wait to do it!
